Oh, sorry, I didn't mean her competence about steel types; I meant her gym's security measures. Especially after Bradley himself felt like he was being observed. She even said she didn't even have a team ready for his challenge, making it plausible that she is already overworked as she is, and not ready to keep an eye on such an appetibile target. Moreso if some of her employees let out that she has a rare Pokemon in her grounds...

The Regi has been like that for a while, he could have given it to Jasmine but there's no reason to believe she's the only who could do it. Jasmine had to ask, he doesn't have to accept.
Given how many times it's come up I wonder if we're going to see war break out or at least skirmishes here. Actual battle between nations instead of criminal organizations is rare in Pokemon fics.

But would Lorelei appreciate a razor claw? She doesn't canonically have a sneasel I don't think but it would hardly be unusual for her to have one that she just doesn't use for high end stuff because they're not evolved.
Also she made that request without a SINGLE suggestion for what the problem could be, or ANY advice on making sure it remains healthy after waking up… OR about handling the whole "using a legendary in battle" thing. Yep. Multiple battle scenes cost animation money. And gamefreak has always cut corners and put in minimal effort where they can despite the ridiculous money they rake in.
I think you're reading way too deep into this. She's a secretary/receptionist, no Janine's right-hand woman. Her job is to take appointments and redirect people towards appropriate facilities if needed. By basic job standards, she didn't "fail big", she did what she was hired for, and nothing more.
I have no issue with it either. Not many actually do stuff with any of the regi so I'm fine with this.
I mean, just because he's a Type Specialist doesn't mean he's going to pass up a Legendary (even an admittedly "meh" one, stat-wise). Not like there's a Regidirt (yet, who knows if GameFreak will make new Regis before new Eeveelutions like they did for the random Electric and Dragon in Crown Tundra for some reason).
