Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

Dudes gonna become a hive of rebel activity and won't even know it.
What's going to be more hilarious for me is that as soon as Palpy kicks the bucket, these Rebels won't have much to fight due to the fact that he's in the bumfuck of nowhere and them realizing that it's better to live in peace than fight out there.

Comedy.

I could see the rebels deciding to keep their heads down in the sector, using the place purely as a logistic hub for neighbouring regions, lest they risk the ISB coming down on their head.

Plus with only 2 years until the Empire explodes the odds of the ISB investigating for rebels is very low unless they cause some very loud noise.

Awesome chapter.
I sighed. "Just 2 years. Just gotta do this shit decent for two years, then you can fake your death as the Empire collapses and jet away to some resort for the rest of your life." My self-assurance complete, I returned to work.
'To the council of Watchers. All those in favor of unleashing Murphy on our SI in the form of making him Emperor say AYE'
'AYE'

What I do have though, is a trade fleet of an Acclamator and 5 Gozantis flying about the galaxy selling ore.
Any chance of this fleet finding the Katana Fleet by Force luck?

At the moment it's 2 BBY. He has six years until Endor.

"How has this guy haven't figured out that this is a Rebel Hub?"
"He lacks common sense."
"There is literally a big rebel station in the system"
"He thinks it's a retrofit station, which it kind of is."
"The hundreds of ships and fighters using Saud 'retrofit' station?"
"Civilian and Traders coming for the booming business. Again kind of right."
"The Literal celebration of the death of the Emperor?"
"Cultural Festival."
"The New Republic recruitment station?!?"
"Workers Union."
"He allows unions? Is he a moron?"
"You would think so, but he is an excellent administrator and planner. Just ...lacking common sense."

Well our hero has three sister. One is an ISD captain one is in Imperial Intelligence and the last one is a TIE fighter pilot. Two of those can cause him no end of grief. The ISD sis can decide to get her ship serviced at his new refit station. You know to help drive some business to his little territory. Assuming that the refit station can handle an entire ISD. As for the Imperial Intelligence sister she might just decide to help her baby brother out by getting rid of any errant Rebel cells in his territory. You know as a favor for her dear idiot of a brother.

By the mere fact he funds part of the station and is doing business with them he may end up shielding them for more intense scrutiny

However, I still had a problem. Population. There was a decent solution to this, however. Clones. And not new ones. I ain't got the money for that. What I do have though, is a trade fleet of an Acclamator and 5 Gozantis flying about the galaxy selling ore. All it takes is a message, and they can start putting up posters and shit advertising a place for clones after they were displaced from the empire.
The clones will probably cancel out the rebel cell, most of them were fanatically loyal to the empire so if they see rebel activity almost likely report it.
Also offering a place for the clones to belong would raise him in the eyes of Darth Vader, cause he cared for his clones.

She and the leader of Phyto Cell, Vilil, had been working on establishing a base/outpost somewhere in the outer rim. Dubrillion, and therefore Bespin, weren't that far off and were bound to have plenty of targets of opportunity
From what i'd seen on the maps Bespin is on the other side of the galaxy

Any chance of this fleet finding the Katana Fleet by Force luck?
Again, it's on the other side of the galaxy so the chances are low but not null

The city itself was fairly low standing, with the tallest building aside from the capitol being the central comms tower a block down the street. Standing at 4 stories, it worked as a data processing center, comms tower/relay, and air/space traffic control.

The rest of the city didn't breach 3 stories, and was mostly a combination of small office buildings/apartments, with the ground level being leased out to businesses.
You know this actually makes the city pretty defensible from raids. Both the tallest buildings by a margin are solidly in Imperial hands means any enemy land forces are going to be in Imperial sight lines whenever they're not in a building.

In other words the Imperials have the high ground.
On both sides leading up to the door were fitted with filing cabinets, installed at my order. Within those cabinets were official, physicalized reports of materials, military strength, and other important statistics. While I miss the nice drawers and monitors that were there, these cabinets are better, and allow me to secure important documents like contracts in a place that can't be hacked.
What are the chances Las imported a filing system from Earth and therefore his records are incomprehensibly organized to anyone trying to infiltrate his office? It's already hard enough they can't just splice a terminal, Rebels with office worker backgrounds are kind of rare.
With all that done, I sent out the orders for 4 CR92a's, costing me a heft 10 million credits, leaving only 5 mil for emergencies of the state(If/When I need to cut my losses and take off).
Like how despite his plans to take the money and run, Las hasn't taken any state money into a private account yet. Meaning he appears squeaky clean when any auditors try to look into him.

Imagine showing up an Imperial Governor's office and them actually having a paper trail for all their expenses, in paper no less.

Her cover story was as such. She was an entrepreneur that had contacted her old friend Darna to see about buying a license for development of orbital facilities in the asteroid ring. While these facilities would exist(thanks to the generous financial donations of some unnamed sympathetic senator), they would exist almost solely to disguise the fact that within would be rebel activity. The facility would conduct regular business, and if a package or data chip slipped or was forgotten every now and again, no one would take notice. And if there were some hangars that were never open to customers, that happens occasionally.
Normal Rebel Cells: "We shall obtain our infrastructure by having the Imperials pay for it."

Las: "I shall have my infrastructure, and make the Minda Rebel Cell pay for it!"

Bonus if the Cell gets discovered because it means Las can seize and nationalize the Space Station. The Empire loves nationalizing things.

in this story It is two years before 0BBY and the Crusader-class corvette was design and tested during the first Galactic Civil War which is 2 BBY I gather from this quote from chapter one
Again"
,
I hear your disgusting voice snort, "I don't see what's so bad about that, just don't cause a ruckus and you'll be fine". And you would be right, bloat-bag, but there's one detail I failed to mention. Mother dearest had tasked Las with making something of this backwater system in 2 years, else she would have him tossed into the meat-grinder that is the regular Imperial Infantry, sent to die on some shithole against some natives like that mess that happened on Mimban.

Of course, now that I'M Las Mola, that meant that by 0BBY
No it's not 2 years before BBY, the SI does t know when that is (current calendar doesn't use BBY). He has 2 years to turn the backwater into something before his MOTHER sends him to the infantry.

by the end of this the people of the planet are just going to want him to stay as governor aren't they? some of them likely are going to remember the old days with the Republic and how they just ignored the Outer Rim. mean while the Empire is going to be remembered as at least giving them a governor who was badly informed about the state of the planet and once he saw the state it was in set about making things better.

depending on location and which imperial remnant warlord or the new republic ends up in control of the area he is gonna be in for some fun times*.

*Fun times may not actually be fun and instead be filled with stress, fear of imminent demise, and other force related shenanigans.

I must say this is a great deal for this rebel cell...so what are the chances a more fanatical cell like Saw's group shows up and starts shit.

I do wonder as the mc shows to be more of a competent governor, he gets promoted with other worlds and systems being placed under his leadership.

The 2 wrecked Munificents could be converted into orbital defense platforms for Minda 3.
Not really, munificents weren't built in a good shape to do that, better to take out the engines, reactors and weapon systems as well as the communication and computation tech (which the munificent had at a better than average quality for their era) to be used elsewhere and have all the military grade durasteel used to build other ships or to fix damage to his own military ships. Also could be an option to retrofit civilian ships with a layer of military grade durasteel, at hiked up prices of course, for them to feel safer. Same for contacting nearby starsystems and offering them a deal. Though that depends on where in the galaxy his system is and if there are any nearby major shipyards that would have already provided such a service.

After all, many ships in the outer rim are private traders who just chose to do what real traders did in our world when pirates appeafed and surrender and deal with the pirates by paying a tithe and mabie some goods, it was relatively rare that a trader ship was absolutely destroyed or had all it's goods taken because then the pirates would not make a profit as they would have either destroyed the goods, or destroyed a ship that may have become a repeat passerby in their region, that would offer them more profits in the longrun than the short run.

note: After all, any non starter level independent trader worth their salt would have an insurance contract for exactly This kind of senario, he'll most star wars insurance companies probably had their own deals with the larger pirate/privateer forces in the galaxy during the Republic era, so i wouldn't be surprised if some still existed in the more calm and non-rebellious parts of the outer rim in the imperial era.

Most imperial governors in canon, abided by the Peace treaty after the battle of Jaku. So he has a good chance if he lasts they long as simply transitioning into an elected position in the republic.

Point of fact, most CIS mulicient's had an onboard complement of several thousand droids and vehicles. More importantly here is they also had an onboard droid manufacturing facility. So if you can salvage that and cobble together a droid production line you can make use of some decent military hardware.supplemental droids in your ships would reduce the manpower and allow you with disposable boarding troops.

Edit: Murphy taunt note - don't forget to reprogram them.

"My mothers direction was to make this system more profitable for the Empire. I have done so. What the population gets up to in its spare time is, quite frankly, not my business."

"...are we SURE he's an Imp?"

Honestly forgot about that, but the B1 droids would probably be a bad idea politically because using them may get him on the radar of the ISB or imperial intelligence so he should find a different design to use, even if he uses the same hardware and production lines... so mabie if there is an old public domain droid type he could have the some mechanics alter to use the internal components of the B1 and claim it's a different droid. Even if he just changes the shape of the outer shell it will be a whole lot of help for him. Edit: I was thinking of the sentinel droids from kotor

Though I guess that having the his droid foundries would help in that the B1s were used for construction work so they had the programming to do it, the governor just needs to find slicers capable of rewriting the loyalty commands on the droid programming templates.

Also for boarding actions, a droid made to carry a big shield as mobile cover is probably the best option.

Though it may be a bad idea if he is also bringing in clone servicemen to make a clone retirement community as they may respond poorly.

I don't think that's a sure thing as I believe some Imperial's used destoryer droids as additional security.

And depending on what the mc is using the droids for and how many they may not care that much though a note may be placed in his file
