Welp Thrawn is gone so that means SW Rebels is officially over, now the waiting game. This is…big. Thrawn was to be her direct superior here, who she would report discreetly to about the Governor's movements. Now, she was told to stay put and continue on as normal.
Now" said the Professor, "Edin City sits on top of a large plateau.
Oh good, so Edin is grasslands with a lot of caves and fissures? This is gonna be Geonosis caves 2 electric boogaloo isn't it?Surrounding the plateau are many fields, with large, deep canyons and ravines cutting through the landscape
When Grand Admiral Thrawn had requested a spy be placed in Minda
Huh? I thought Thrawn was an exile?she was still a loyal member of the Ascendancy, and her duty came before her personal life
Is there something going around in the background turning people into rubber balls? She hummed, taking a sip of a Mindan chocolate drink. This place was nice. Quite-
The doors to her office opened, a lone, darkish blue rubber ball bouncing past.
-strange, but nice.
He was an "exile" politically.
Brother grab the flamer. The heavy flamer.Oh good, so Edin is grasslands with a lot of caves and fissures? This is gonna be Geonosis caves 2 electric boogaloo isn't it?
MCs sister is coming. Not only that, but there were orders to relocate some of the members of said defunct project's research team, including the head engineers and test pilots?
No, those systems are always retarded and offer no actual information on how good a person is at doing a job, just do a regular novice->apprentice->adept etc. with specific fighting styles or a local arena "everyone can challange everyone" thing if you want a ranking that badly, leave the japanese shit in the japanese shit bin since that's where their poorly thought out systems belongIt would be cool to have an F-S rank system for martial skill in the mercenary section
1.That's why I said as a separate ranking system for martial skill while the first is experience and reliabilityNo, those systems are always retarded and offer no actual information on how good a person is at doing a job, just do a regular novice->apprentice->adept etc. with specific fighting styles or a local arena "everyone can challange everyone" thing if you want a ranking that badly, leave the japanese shit in the japanese shit bin since that's where their poorly thought out systems belong
If you didn't know, the concept of a group of merchants/craftsmen/mercs coming together to have greater bargaining power and calling themselves a guild is not new, in fact it's very old and
It doesn't mean that the blatantly inane ideas (that stop making sense after thinking about them for more than a minute) they love parroting don't deserve to be hated & improved upon as is the case (in my opinion) with the current system & ranking the MC currently has in place3. Anime and manga are where more than half the stories on this site come from

Wasn't it mentioned they have a review/rating thing a few chapters ago?Currently you could look at the forms of two Mercs in the same level/rank and not be able to tell at a glance which is more experienced without going through their job history.

He literally talked about making an adventure guild and I don't disagree that the F-S ranking isn't as detailed as it could be that's why I said for it to be specific to combat and not experience and what I was not ok with is you calling it "Japanese shit that belongs in the Japanese shit bin"If you didn't know, the concept of a group of merchants/craftsmen/mercs coming together to have greater bargaining power and calling themselves a guild is not new, in fact it's very old
My first thought reading this was: "Oh nice Dr. Zola turned his life around".The teacher at the front of the classroom was a Toong man by the name of Professor Guary, shorter in stature. He was kinda funny looking, because his head was where his torso should be, but no one laughed.
Wretches seems like an apt term for these things. At least they'll be training for the Jungle World if the natives turn hostile.with an incomplete list of military equipment that was to be requisitioned for the ongoing investigation into the entities being dubbed Wretches, for their howling screams and insatiable rage.
Makes you wonder how much people on Minda and Edin know about the wider Empire. Then again, they would be about as informed as they were of the wider Republic and some things they got up to on Outer Rim worlds."-and then Professor Guary told us about his time on Mon Calamari! He showed us pictures of the Whaladons there and all their pretty songs and how they eat huge swarms of fish and-"
Kaela barely stopped from wincing. The Whaladons were fully sentient, and hunted for sport and food by the Empire these days. While she did not particularly care for their plight, it would be best not to mention that fact to Usla.
So nice to see the Monster and the Ex-slave get along. It is as wholesome as it is terrifying.Looking down at the babbling child, she smiles. It is a bloodthirsty thing, but Usla can tell its not aimed at her.
"Are you happy?" she asked, curious.
"Yes, little one. I am. Your stories have helped me. Thank you."
The Web is kind of the Rebels' worst nightmare. An informant network that sticks to its job and lets the military do the heavy lifting. No overt oppression or jumping the gun when they see a Rebel, no back biting or political scheming by the leaders to take advantage of, no shiny armor or fancy symbol that makes them easy to spot. Now, her unofficial work was just as important, but required far less paperwork. The Web. What had started as a group of people working to ensure their new home stayed safe had grown. Make no mistake, she would not allow it to go too far. She had seen the horrors MI had inflicted on the few who escaped their clutches.
No, The Web would remain an information network that warned off those Rebels who tried to cause trouble a few months ago, and could both investigate and report suspicious activity and hidden criminals. All it would take would be a scared citizen running to an Enforcers station because they saw some scary looking people go into a certain building. A few checks later, and lo and behold a drug den was found!
I imagine both the Imperials and the Rebels trying to snoop are going to take one look at the Web trying to hide something and assume it is a front for Imperial Intelligence. Heck it would be funny if Imperial Intelligence came looking and assumed it was Imperial Intelligence. The look when an Imperial Intelligence agent comes to Darna and starts to give her briefings.R&D had also gotten ahold of some new schematics they were starting to research. As Interim Governor and Governor Mola's right hand, she had access. Looking through the files, she almost swore.
Grand Admiral Thrawn? He was sending a canceled project to mingle out here? Not only that, but there were orders to relocate some of the members of said defunct project's research team, including the head engineers and test pilots?
She sighed. The Rebels couldn't learn of this, since it would invite undue scrutiny, and the Empire's increased presence couldn't reveal the rebels, since it might lead back to her, and drag all of Minda down with them.
Welp Oioro is on her way to going native. Reports having 6 months between them and being part of a vastly improving community is going to foster some loyalty even in an ice cold Chiss' heart. This is…big. Thrawn was to be her direct superior here, who she would report discreetly to about the Governor's movements. Now, she was told to stay put and continue on as normal.
Which essentially just meant do her job as secretary, and send a report every 6 months.
The amount of work here was certainly lesser than her previous postings, and the environment was certainly better and friendlier to her non-human status.
She hummed, taking a sip of a Mindan chocolate drink. This place was nice. Quite-
The doors to her office opened, a lone, darkish blue rubber ball bouncing past.

I can totally see a ex-Jedi ending up in this role as means to survive and use their trained skills. Much to Las' frustration since it means a force user is in his territory.Negotiator: Focuses on handling delicate situations that require diplomacy and communication skills, often working to resolve conflicts without resorting to force.
Hello not-a-smuggler. Good to see Las offering so many outside Imperial society the means to legitimize themselves.Sourcing Specialist: Focuses on identifying and procuring high-quality goods from producers or suppliers, developing relationships to ensure consistent supply.
There are tropes that by merely existing harm the value of a work, a unified ranking system that does not change across tens, perhaps hundreds of copy paste stories with minimal deviations is one of them since in my mind at least it has been thoroughly tainted by the deluge of low effort isekai slop that the japanese creators have been pumping out alongside their more ambitious projects, that's why i say it belongs in the japanese shit bin, not, the japanese shit bin, which i hindsight was a distinction i should have made earlier
I don't think flamethrowers are a good idea because unless you can instantly incinerate the zombie you'd just end up getting mauled by a flaming zombie instead of a regular one.
If the zombies are still alive after transformation then electrical weapons might work better as a flamethrower alternative here, hitting a group of them with lightning should cause the targeted groups muscles to either lock up or get launched away from the wielder due to muscle spasms."Necrosis…minimal. Subject was alive when they became like this, and alive after." As the scanner results came back, Gorlan looked a mite surprised.
"No signs of mechanical augmentation. Muscle seems…denser. Bori, take a look at this."
A Heavy Lightning Rifle might do the trick.Unfortunately, the closest thing to a handheld Tesla coil like weapon I know of are the DN Bolt Caster and an E11 modification called the Arc Caster from the Star Wars Battlefront games.
