Basically it's the Lord of the Rings crossed with Asian myths crossed with Iliad crossed with Final Fantasy crossed to everything else.

There is a crapsack world. The protagonists are big damn heroes that can, really can, change things for the better because a God of Awesome gave them the power to be better than perfect at everything.

There is the whole "power corrupt" and enemies with similar powers, but it's still Epic.
Thanks, I know some of this stuff, it's just the characters within the setting that I can't find anything on.

Woah...thanks, dude. :D

Training Days I: A Very Busy Week (Part 2)
Day 2

It's only the second day that you meet her again.

Aika Kiryu.

You open the door to your classroom, and immediately see her seated on her desk. Your gazes meet for an instant before she abruptly turns away. You are able to catch a glimpse of blush before it.

You sigh: yes, things are really awkward. Yet you need to find a solution.

But when lunchtime arrives, and you have yet to think of something, you just decide to say 'screw this' and confront her directly.

You stand up. "Kiryu-sa-" You begin.

Only to be interrupted when Kiryu-san grabs you by the arm and drags you outside. Too stunned to react you follow her up the stairs and on the rooftop. You are the only ones present there, despite that Winter was mostly over it was still chill.

Aika turns around, the light reflected by her glasses making it impossible to see her eyes, lips stretched into a thin line.

"I'm sorry!!"

And then she deeply bows.

You blink. Well okay technically it's her fault, but she didn't a bad thing.

'On the contrary, it was a very good thing...ehehehe....' You mentally giggle before focusing back. "It's okay, it's not a big deal..."

"It is!" She yells. "In my haze I confused fantasy for reality and, and...I..." She cradles her head in her hands. Her voice is barely a whisper. "I forced myself on you..."

And then it hits you.

She is the same as you.

Perverted as she may be, she would never initiate something without the other's consent.

"You're a good person." You say in a soothing manner. She raises her head and looks at you in shock. "You may be a pervert, but your first priority is the other's wellbeing. Because those who see people as objects of lust are scum."

Her eyes widens.

"I didn't realize it before, but we're pretty similar, you and I. To tell the truth-" You grin. "That was a great way to have my first kiss."

"It was mine too!" She squeals.

It sure was a lot of things for a causal encounter. "That means we're even. Honestly speaking I was worried too, I thought you would blame yourself too much."

"T-Then..."

You flash her a thumb-up. "No harm done: you're absolved of all changes! C'mon, smile! Sexually harass me like you always do! Where did the bubbly girl that used to send me, Matsuda and Motohama crying in a corner go?"

She stares at you for a few seconds. Then she grins perversely. "She spent the last thirty hours masturbating in her room thinking about a certain hot-stud that suddenly became awesome after being lame for sixteen years."

You almost trip yourself over. You mouth hangs open before you start laughing wildly. "Ahahaha! Welcome back Kiryu-san!"

She laughs too. "Ahahahah! Call me Aika!"

"Then call me Ise Aika-chan!"

"I will Ise-kun!"

"Ahahahahah!!"

Behind the door to the rooftop Matsuda and Motohama hug each other and cry tears of envy, despair and just plain terror at the abomination of nature they just witnessed.

That day you, Issei Hyodo, gained a new friend.
New Intimacy gained:
Aika Kiryu (Friendship?)
----

"Bright-sensei, can you teach me how to fight?" You ask as politely as possible.

Your answer is a look that one would give to something particularly nasty that suddenly did something stupid.

Have you ever mentioned how much you despise this woman, despite her huge oppai?

"...The obvious problem-" She finally begins. "Is that this decadent society of your doesn't offer much in terms of combat abilities to learn."

"This is not true." You object. "Japan is famous for the great numbers of martial arts developed after millennia of history."

"Can they teach you how to level a building with your fists or how to kill 100 men with a single sword's swing?"

"...The first is considered impossible and the second is illegal..." You mumble.

"The answer is no." She starts walking in circles around you. "Honestly...Now, there are two options: normally I would just teach you how to wield a sword, but this world lacks Daiklaves, even more a proper Orichalcum Daiklave befitting an Exalted for you to claim and use."

"Daiklave?" You blink in confusion. "Orichalcum?"

She materializes Cruel Wisdom. "Daiklaves are the traditional weapons of the Exalted: usually over four feet long, for any other being they are too large and heavy to be used. In an Exalted's hands however, after being properly attuned, it becomes an instrument of precise and unstoppable death."

Yes, because it's a BFS. Cloud Strife got nothing of it. "Not to mention I can't carry around a real sword without being arrested. So what's Orichalcum?"

"The Orichalcum is a mystical metal blessed by the Unconquered Sun and it's the favored material of the Solar Exalted to forge their weapons. The materials to produce it are present here, but you can't do it."

"Why? What kind of materials are we talking about?"

"Many specially made mirrors, gold, magma and an ability in Craft that you don't possess."

"...You're right, I can't do it." You adopt a thinking pose. "Yet. I am sure that if I become a proficient mage I can find ways to accomplish it. What is the second option?"

"Unarmed martial arts." She adopts a stance. "Among the numerous Martial Arts developed in Creation there is the "Fist of the Daystar", the natural unarmed combat magic of the Solar Exalted. There is nothing formal to this fighting style, but there is an unstoppable and unchallengeable grace to it. This is a honest battle art, for champions, gladiators and heroes. It was forged in the dawning of the world by my predecessors and companions so that we could face and defeat the Primordials and their minions with nothing save our bare hands."

"If it is so amazing why do you use a sword?"

"I use a sword because I can do the same feats with it." She grins. "Each Solar arts is powerful beyond belief, there is not 'stronger and weaker'. Now as a Solar, no matter your Caste, learning the Fist of the Daystar comes naturally to you: you can use it even with Boosted Gear. But to first learn its techniques you need a certain amount of experience to start with. So, starting now, I am going to teach you how to fight unarmed."

"Great!" You will know kung-fu! "What do I need to do first?"

"Raise your fists." You do it. "Now, block."

"Block wha-"

PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN

"I said block." Bright chastises.

Your answer comes in the form of a whimper as you're too busy trying to make your body stop telling your nerves that your leg is in your brain and the skeleton is crammed into your bowels because this is your mindscape and OH GOD WHY DO IT HURT SO MUCH?!

"Oh, right!" She snaps her fingers. "There is this something called 'holding back' that you're supposed to do when teaching someone. Never tried it before, that's why I forgot."

You hate her. You hate her so much.

----

"Fireball!" You shout and thrust your hand forward. In front of your palm appears a magic circle from which a sphere of golden flames is fired. The fireball hits a tree, blowing out a good portion of the trunk.

"Very good Issei-kun." Akeno-sempai cheers. "Now try to stop my attack." She raises a hand and fires a lightning bolt.

"Shield!" You raise both hands, magic circles forming in each one. With them you created a golden shield that block the lightning bolt before breaking.

"[Fireball] and [Shield] are the very first basics skills any Devil, even little kids, know." She explains. "You did well in learning them."

"Does this mean we are going to move to more advanced stuff?"

"Not yet. First I want you to get accustomed with their use. Keep using them one after the other until you run out of magical energy."

Oh well. Here we go.

Learned:
[Fireball] Shoot a ball of fire. A basic magic skill that many Devils learn in their youth. 1 mote for 1L damage, up to 4 motes for fireball.
[Shield] Create a shield to block attacks. A basic magic skill that many Devils learn in their youth. The shield reduces the raw dice pool of an attack of an amount of dies equivalent to the motes used to create the shield. Up to five motes can be spent for shield.

No harem is complete without some exotic beauties, but you need a way to speak with them. You want to be prepared for the onslaught of girls that will surely follow.

So the first step you need to do is clear.

"What is the best method to learn English?" You ask your teacher.

"Go to England." He replies without raising his eyes from the book he is reading.

He always was a smartass. "Too complicated! The next best thing?"

This time he looks up. "Pay attention during my lessons?"

"They're too short. I need to study more, learn more!"

"Why this sudden inte-on second thought I don't want to know. Knowing you probably want to know what the blondes in a foreign porno are saying."

That's rude. And wrong: you always download video with subtitles.

"Look, just study more my texts and then go there." He writes down an address. "The owner of this shop is a native speaker and a friend of mine. Tell him that I sent you and he will help you with your speaking skills."

"Thank you sensei! You're a smartass but you're a good teacher."

"You're welcome. You're also welcome into one day of detention for the 'smartass' comment."

Asshole.

"Two days."

"I didn't say anything!"

"Your face did. Face it Hyodo, you're too honest to tell believable lies."

That is true.

Issei's Awesome Adventures: Fluttering of Wings (Part 1)
[X] Fluttering of wings
----

After dinner you are walking towards your usual training spot when you feel a chill all over your body.

[Killing intent. Be careful, an enemy is nearby.] Bright warns.

You stop under the light of a lampion and look around, your body tensing in preparation for a fight. "Come out. I know you're here."

"Ooh? You have sharp instincts."

From the darkness a man steps out. Middle-age, he is wearing a trench coat and a fedora. He is looking at you with fierce eyes.

"With instincts like those it isn't to difficult to imagine that Raynare was caught by surprise."

!!

What did he say?

"Fallen Angel." You say not as a question, but as a statement.

"Correct. My name is Dohnaseek." He greets you in a mocking manner.

"Did you come here to finish what Raynare started?" You shift your right foot to the side.

"More of less." He shrugs. "You know, she is very, very mad at you. She spend the entire day rambling about what she will do to you once her injuries are healed: most of it involve your posterior and an unhealthily amount of piercing instruments."

You gulp.

"Frankly I don't care about you, but listening to her is getting annoying. Sadly she is the one in charge and the nun will not arrive until the next week so..." He grins. "Me and the others decided to just finish you up. She will throw a fit, but knowing her she will just scold me a bit and then forget about it."

"So you are just going to kill me because she just so happens to hurt your ears?"

"Like I said, no hard feelings." A blue light spear materializes in his hand. "It just so happens that I am a pragmatic guy."

You noticed.

[X]Call your allies with the Bracelet.
-[X]" You trying to start a war, Tenshi? Cause I tell ya I'm not alone!"

Yeah I had a feeling we were forgetting someone.

Dohnaseek is in Raynare's posse so he's definitely heard what we can do and what it was that caused Raynare's injury. He probably isn't going to let us get close enough to use our holy charms, so we need to either change the terrain or call on allies. Getting Rias involved might cause a diplomatic snarl what with the cease fire and all so we should probably try to handle this on our own.

If we call the Boosted Gear out, we can run for it and start spinning up motes while we lead our opponent to a location where we won't run into any bystanders -- young girls out for a jog for instance. If we can find a park or something we can use tree cover to make attacking us from the air difficult and force Dohnaseek into our engagement range, at which point we'll be boosted up and ready for action.

We do have Fireball and Shield now, so we can attack at distance.

Oh shit, I didn't see the first half of the update! :-[ Hold that thought...

*EDIT*
Okay, that changes things a little. Fireball is a little weaker than I would like but since it's just an entry-level attack spell I suppose it's also a reasonable assessment of our skills. I still endorse my first plan since spinning up Boosted Gear is a good strategy and gives us some extra juice to spend on throwing fireballs if we need it. So...

[X] Run away and look for more advantageous terrain while spinning up Boosted Gear. Look for cover and force Dohnaseek to engage us in melee, but if no cover is available by the time we're fully boosted let him have it with a barrage of fireballs (AFTER leaving public view, obviously).

I love the conversation with Aika and with the teacher. Ise is just such a likable guy.

I'm not sure if we should fight him. I'm pretty sure we could take him, but should we risk it?

Definitely. If the fight goes really sour we can call Rias for reinforcements, but if we don't get rid of this guy he'll just follow us around and attack us some other time, like when mom and dad or Aika are around.

What, and get the attention of every normal person in a ten block radius? A fully-charged anima can be seen for miles and doesn't fade very quickly, we'd be drawing way too much attention to ourselves to flare our anima deliberately.

This is why I didn't vote for "fluttering of wings." I mean, what did you guys think it was going to be? Well. I suppose it could have been a tengu.

I had a feeling it was going to be a fallen angel, which is exactly why I voted for it. If we cut this guy down while he's by himself we won't need to deal with him as part of a group. Divide and conquer is that much easier when the enemy divides itself for you.

Alright, time for some actual decent action. :)

[X] Briefly you consider standing and fighting using your two newest spells but then you reconsidered, those two spells are supposed to be the most basic of basic spells a devil can learn, something they teach children. No, your going to need advantages in terrain to favor you if you hope to hit your enemy much less bring him down so for now you turn on your heel and run away towards the park looking for a more advantageous terrain while spinning up Boosted Gear. Look for cover such as tree's or structures and force Dohnaseek to engage us in melee if he wants to end this fight before it starts, but if there is no cover available by the time we're fully boosted let him have it with a barrage of fireballs. Of course make sure to block his attacks with shield if they are going to hit.
