[X] Yang Path of the Arbiter
[X] Ruby Path of the Arbiter
[X] Mittelt Jade Mountain

I'm unsure what we should teach Asia.

I gave it a look, and from the description the one who created it...didn't created it at all: he copied the style from an Old Realm's book.

So all you need to do is changing the name and it's usable.
What name should we use for it?

I suggest the Reaper Style for Ruby , which is scythe-based , and the Void Dragon Style for Yang , which uses Fighting Gauntlets as its form weapon .

Reaper Style : http://exalted.xi.co.nz/wiki/MartialArts/ReaperStyle

Void dragon Style : http://exalted.xi.co.nz/wiki/MartialArts/VoidDragonStyle
Void dragon style was made after the first age. Besides I prefer Path of the Arbiter. You can make your own Panoply when you get high enough in it.

Path of the Judger, maybe?

Void Dragon is not allowed since it was created in the Second Age: Bright has no way to know it.

[X] Yang Path of the Judger

[X] Mittlet Ivory Pestle

I feel the need to remind everyone that buying ward means our limit is going to be shooting through the roof all the time and hence is a terrible idea.

So we need to vote for some styles as well.

So first pulse for Yang and jade mountain for Mittelt.
No, Ivory Pestle for Mittelt. There is no conceivable reason to give her anything else. Is anyone even looking at what these styles do as opposed to what weapons they use?

Why do people wish Ruby to learn Titan felling? Path of the Arbiter literally turns her into a magical girl, with magical companion, magical armor, and magical back up weapon.

It's literally a match made in Heaven for her, you can't tell me you don't think Path of the Arbiter is Perfect for Ruby.

The back-up weapon is a wasted charm and the form charm sucks balls, that's why.

So we're going to teach Mil-tan path of the arbiter?

Yang:
[X] First Pulse
Ruby:
[X] Path of the Arbiter

No, seriously, the form charm is fucking useless for anyone who isn't a dragonblood and already has a perfectly good weapon. Skip it, skip it hard and skip it fast.

Care to elaborate? And on Ivory Pestle vs. Jade Mountain too?

I'll be honest, i don't know much about these styles, but I really don't want a generic "turn them into magical girls with a homebrew martial art" bullshit thing.

it sounds pretty lame.

Yang:
[X] First Pulse

Ruby:
[X] Titan Felling

Mittelt:

edit: changed to freeform. I don't like the idea of them using Exalted styles anyway.

Path of the Arbiter Form has three benefits: it nullifies accidental collateral damage resulting from the user's actions, it lets them sacrifice health to regain willpower, and it lets her summon the magical armor and weapons that she gets later in the style.

There are problems with all three of these benefits. First, Ruby's style doesn't cause accidental collateral damage for the most part. The primary benefit of this is that a dragonblood's anima won't damage anything that they aren't trying to hurt. Unless Ruby starts using Solar Hero Style or sorcery or something she's not going to wind up using this effect very much. Second, taking aggravated health damage for willpower when you can already stunt the willpower for no cost is just dumb on all sides of it. And third, her magic weapons and armor are only artifact quality. The armor is okay, but the weapon is useless when Ruby already has one, and she doesn't need a spare because she's learning martial arts. She doesn't suddenly become helpless if an enemy happens to disarm her because her charms can be used bare-handed just fine.

Jade Mountain is a bad choice both thematically and mechanically. JM charms focus on resisting damage and dealing overwhelmingly powerful hits, and several of the beginning charms are grappling charms which are of no benefit to Ruby's fighting style. It's a style for big burly guys in heavy armor like most Earth-caste dragonbloods, not for petite little mortal girls who should be dodging and parrying hits rather than soaking them.

But Ivory Pestle is made of awesome and win. The first charm in the tree forces the opponent to resist both knockback and knockdown, which leaves them open for a follow-up attack from an ally until their next turn. Whirling Pestal Kata, charm number 2, is a flurry charm which lets Ruby make lighting-fast attacks, and then Ivory Pestle Form boosts her weapon's rate so she can attack more times per round. IPF also lets Ruby's attacks hit ghosts and other dematerialized beings should we encounter them, lets her dual-wield staves or clubs (twin scythes anyone?) and most importantly it blocks out penalties to her Parry DV, meaning her defense never weakens no matter what she's doing.

Then there's Crushing Pestle Atemi. This charm comes right after the form and lets Ruby make enhanced attacks against an opponent's weapons and armor. She can cripple an opponent's limbs and make them drop their weapon, destroy the weapon or armor outright with aggravated piercing damage, and most significantly if she uses this against artifact weapons such as Boosted Gear she can forcibly deattune them, which in our case would kill our overdrive pool and make us spend resources to summon Boosted Gear back again. Imagine Ruby being able to hit a person so hard that she can knock them out of Balance Breaker and you begin to see why I want her to have this style so badly.

Ivory Pestle is broken as fuck, and so sane ST would let you use it without an extensive rework.

Then it's a good thing Alexander already cleared it for use.

yeah, i don't think anyone ever suggested ivory or jade for Ruby, those were for the liittle Oni Devil. (who's a lot more suited to "big burly guy style" than she is.

also, ruby only has one scythe, so any charms that let her dual wield would be useless.

unless she splits it the same way we did, but that's stupid.

Not really, no. Ruby and Mittelt can both benefit from Ivory Pestle, Mittelt with a tetsubo and Ruby with the pole half of her scythe. If she ever upgrades to CMAs White Reaper would be the ideal next step for her since it's a dedicated scythe form and one of the best CMAs around.

Also IP is really the only TMA that's actually worth the EXP cost of taking it. Terrestrial charms blow so hard.

also, ruby only has one scythe, so any charms that let her dual wield would be useless.
Did you miss all the other benefits that come with that charm?

Actually I'm going to change my vote for Ruby so she's also learning Ivory Pestle. There's one more benefit to that style; it explictly allows the user to use the shaft of a polearm as a staff, so Ruby's scythe is a form weapon so long as she doesn't use the blade of it. Moreover, this teaches her how to inflict bashing damage with a weapon that otherwise wouldn't allow it, which will go a long way towards helping her "redeem" Crescent Rose by using it non-lethally.
