Interest Check & Idea Thread

Sounds like a quest that can worm its way into your heart.

Wait wait, Mighty Mouse as in the person that Bonesaw turned into Murder Rat?

Tentatively doing a write-up for a Worm Quest but we will see how that goes.

Possible protagonist is a pre-Trigger Rule 63'ed Taylor :p

No that was Mouse Protector, similar powers. In fact their siblings!

In the Current Campaign:
Artemis: Enhanced Reflexes and strength, has the ability of ridiculously fast learning of physical skills. Powerful cape and soon to graduate into the protectorate. Uses bow and thrown weapons. Current status: Presumed dead (or worse) after being abducted by Dr. Litchter when Mina decided to prioritize taking out Kortic V during the Home Front Assault session.
Glitch: Thinker with the power to understand how to cause critical failure. Current status: Physically okay but unstable after being mindfucked by Kortic V.
Longshot: Power unknown. Knows Gun-fu. Current status: Great!
Mighty Mouse: Enhanced Reflexes and the ability to create warps in space that allow her to pass through objects. Actually quite weak at PL 9 but is the current leader of the wards.
Cheshire: See my Worm MM build page.

Meh, Worm is brutal, we won't survive three days.

Maybe. Its not so bad in the initial game, and as you develop tactics and your character you can grow with it. I am not one of those GMs where one bad dice roll can kill you.

IF you do do it it shouldn't be Taylor we play as, but another cape who has a weak sounding power that can be exploited with some good thinking. Or at least a regular power of dependable usefulness.

The Alchemist: A cape who can alter chemical bonds in an object.

Crimson Comet: Small red headed girl named Red Granger, Brute 3 Master 4; zero range telekinesis, uses it to enhance physical abilities and passes it off as being a martial arts master.

Will o' Wisp: Shaker 2, has the ability to vibrate molecules and uses it to create small fires.

While no matter what, the power will probably be different, why would I possibly want to do that?

I think that'd be a great idea and would definitely participate.

Jetstream: Tinker with the power to make anything, as long as it's fictional and he has the materials he needs. So named because he built himself a copy of Jetstream Sam's power-armor and high-frequency katana. Possibly not actually a Tinker, since they get their knowledge from the civilisations the Worms have killed, and he's getting his from alternate universes.

I didn't really know where to go with this, but here it is.
Mkire wants to know how to link posts to make an index for Doppleganger Quest.

How Do?

Do you see where there is the subject for the specific post?

ala "Re: Interest Check & Idea Thread" for our mutual posts? Right click it and select "copy link location" or "copy url" and then edit it~

So, idea: Case 53 Quest.

You wake up, the sound of waves lapping at a concrete shore. The night sky above you is black and featureless; the stars are drowned out by the light of the city. You sit up; before you is a patio, framed with glass, overlooking the ocean, or at least some sort of bay or something, and sitting on the water is something the likes of which you've never seen before: an oil rig, lit up by spotlights and surrounded by a kaleidoscopic bubble of energy. Or, now that you think of it, you don't think you have.

You can't actually remember if you have, because you realise you can't remember anything. You fight down the feeling of panic welling up, and look around. You see a sign, over the window. "Brockton Bay Ferry, Service Coming Soon!" It proclaims. Then, it hits you. You remember being a nerd, sitting at a computer, reading an superhero web-story called Worm, about a young supervillain named Skitter. and then, you realise that it isn't you. It can't be, because Worm is fictional, and this is very real.

As you get up, you notice a mark on your left hand. The Greek letter Omega. Or, perhaps, the Ultramarine Symbol. Images flash through your head. Power armor. Bolters. Doctrine and schematics. We are the Emperor's Fury, his Angels of Death! You stagger for a moment, as the information sweeps through you, and a moment later, you realise what your power is. You can see into other universes, even fictional ones, and gain information from them. You're pretty sure that Scion built safeguards into his shards to stop this sort of thing from happening, but then again, it looks like you got your shard from Cauldron, judging by the fact you've got their symbol on your hand and a distinct lack of memories.

You suppose that you must be one of their Case 53s, the failures that they wipe the memories of and dump into the world. Remembering one of the main reasons they do so, you get up to check your reflection in the window of the ferry station. You:
[X] Look entirely human.
[X] Look like an anime catgirl (claws, cute fangs, enhanced scent and hearing, night vision, improved reflexes and flexibility).
[X] Look like a bug-person (compound eyes w/ enhanced visual range, antennae, body-hair replaced with insect feeler-hair, combat precognition)
[X] Look like the "sensory homunculus" (increased hand, eye, and mouth sizes and sensitivity)
[X] Look like something else (must have a "Sensory" theme)

[X] Look entirely human.

[X]Look like an Elf, including pointed ears and Keen Elven Eyes.,

[X] Have the head- and eyes- of an eagle.

Kra-kaw, motherfuckers.

... This is going to be the only thing I have time to post today. Damned werk.

That's an interesting idea. What about a man with a falcon head that has light-based powers, or a woman with a cat head that can control felines, and/or has cat-based powers?

Well, the idea is that the alternate-universe knowledge he gets is how the players of the quest interact with him (or her, if you pick the catgirl option), in a similar fashion to the ROB-powered journals a lot of the SB self-insert fics had after Hiver started the trend.

[X] Have the ears of a bat, a serpents tongue. (Massively increased sound perception and hearing range, as well as a chemical sensitivity.)

Because its the internet, and thus, cats are the only true option.

Nyan~

You were born a commoner, in a small and no name village attached to a monastery. You were given to the monastery as a child, that you might make something of yourself.

That, in an of itself, was not an uncommon thing. Many a young lad and lass were given to the Church, across Halkegania, that they might become holy men and women, learned in letters, that they might have a better life.

It was in the church, that you discovered your potential, that you could wield the elements as any noble could. The blessing of Brimir was strong in you. And yet, despite this, you preferred not to use your gift for war. But to help the commoners, to bless their fields, to heal the sick and wounded.

You worked hard, had studied your letters well, more, you became well versed in the holy scriptures of the Church. As a man of the cloth, you believed with all your heart in the teachings of the Church. You believed in the King, that he was just and righteous, descended from the Founder, Brimir himself, in an unbroken direct lineage.

Your hard work, your belief and faith, more, your compassion was so obvious that you were raised to the rank of a bishop and assigned to the chapel in the castle of Saschen-Gotha.

As positions went, it wasn't one that you felt was bad. It was true that the Archduke did enjoy hunting in the woods, some might say worryingly so. That there were rumors of him consorting with first-borns could be considered worrying.

Still, life was simple. You preached your sermons, made the life of the commoners just a touch better, taught the children in Saschen-Gotha their letters.

But everything came to a crash one day. The king sent an army after the Archduke, declaring him a traitor to the crown and humanity.

Even if the Archduke had consorted with an elf... where was the harm in that? It was not something that required an army to be sent to execute him, raze his castle to the ground.

And yet, it was here that you witnessed the might of an elf. A single elf with but a sword and magic pitted against the royal army. Over half the army had died before the she and her lover, the Archduke, was eventually slain.

Such power, you could not conceive. And yet, it was not enough. Those who had served the crown, who had served the Archduke were put to the sword. Slain out of hand for the "crime" of serving loyally.

It was all you could do to save the lives of the children, women, and commoners. If you had not been a bishop of immaculate standing, you suspect that you too would have been put to the sword. But a mage priest such as you? Your murder would not be something easily forgotten by the church.

And thus, you found yourself in Londonium after doing what you could for the commoners, the womenfolk, and the children.

You have been recently approached by someone that was quite shady. Someone who had offered to help you right the wrong done by the King in his madness.

You are Oliver Cromwell, and you are uncertain of what you want to do.

Cromwell Quest?

What do you do?
[X] Meet up with the person who got in contact with you?
[X] Return to the monastery that you grew up in?
[X] Visit the holy city of Romalia to mediate upon your faith?
[X] Hope a certain Tanuki gives up writing fics and quest and take this quest up~

[X] Think that the Tanuki runs way too many quests as is and is likely to burn himself out.
