An interesting read.
Though I did find the dialogue to be stilted at times. Remember, Castle can be more than a little snarky, and you don't seem to use many contractions. (Martha, on the other hand, you got down pat )
Watched like a hawk.
I don't read much Buffy fanfiction for...numerous reasons, but this is definitely a breath of fresh air and reminds me why I like Buffy in the first place.
I very much hope the young Ms. Summers is an avid reader of Mr. Castle's series. If only for the jaw-dropping reveal of their truthfulness.
I'm going to assume that Travers sends Rick instead of Giles because of the 'Yankee Watcher, Yankee Slayer' mentality?
...also, the reminder of how young Beckett is compared to Castle (at least in terms of their characters) makes me look at the show in a very weird light.
... interesting.
I can see Detective Kate Beckett landing supernatural-themed cases, and calling in well-known vampire-book writer Richard Castle to offer his theories; not unlike Karrin Murphy's role in the Dresden Files.
Well, the actual series had the occasional supernatural-themed crime, which Castle gleefully latched on to, while Kate steadfastly upheld the normal aspect. (They even had a time traveller, who actually ended up appearing to be a real time traveller).I am not yet certain when/if Kate will discover the truth about the supernatural. Having Castle, at least at the start, trying to find out if the latest weird murder was related to demons or not, while everyone hates having an author snoop around who is looking for inspiration for his new vampire-themed crime mysteries sounds a bit too enticing.

You could even play it straight, with Castle helping solve the case from the supernatural side, while helping 'solve' the case from the mundane side (and pretending to be disappointed at the lack of supernatural aspects after all).
Heh. Be interesting if things were reversed: thanks to her love of Castle's works, Kate is open to the idea of the supernatural - not credulous or a Believer, but willing to at least consider non-normal explanations for things (like Detective Munch and his conspiracy theories from Law & Order). Meanwhile, Castle is the one trying to steer things back to the strait and narrow, because he knows how the supernatural actually works and this ain't it - which, of course, he can't actually say, so he gets a reputation as the practical and skeptical one, who only plays lip-service to the idea for the sake of his work. And, on the rare occasion they find a case that really is Of The Weird, he's still trying to convince her otherwise to get her out of the way so that he, or others in the know, can deal with it.
