The chapter ended too abruptly IMO. I wanted to see the epic battle of Fluffy vs Jaune and Kazuma. And Lisa is SOOO damn lucky that they didn't get dropped off in Alcanretia. Their sheer zeal would've mind broken her. Though they could've gotten a consolation prize in Cecilia. She could've become the party healer and a decent one at that.
So wait, if the universes they left are frozen in time... are they effectively dead if they never go back? Is this normal for this genre? I never read WC or any jumpchain shit so I have no clue
The problem for me here is that I thought Jaune was an RPG enthusiast who knows that one should always be meticulous during character creation.
And here he made an impulsive choice latching onto his associations about the Huntsmen from Remnant before thinking about other implications of a RPG style guild system. He even interrupted the class introductions and just asked straight away for the job.
Basically he neglected the information gathering part, which is actually an incorrect attitude for the Huntsmen team leader.
I get the feeling that this second trip to Worm will only result in local!Lisa following them back through the portal to escape Coil, especially if she heard of the incoming Leviathan.
Been binging this on reader mode. Gonna read the comments later
But I'm loving this. Jaune stumbling into a half-working WC enabled scroll due to sheer, absurd chance with the contractor dying and his subsequent isekai's and hijinks due to not being meta aware is amazing XD
I wonder how long it'll take Lisa's Shard to join the theater. Since it must also be watching I expect some shard bullship where both become aware of each other instantly.
The hunter job is probably his best bet cuz he's gonna get other power upside for combat.
Go team JLE (JEWEL)
So wait, if the universes they left are frozen in time... are they effectively dead if they never go back? Is this normal for this genre? I never read WC or any jumpchain shit so I have no clue
The only one frozen is the RWBY verse that got fucked by the edge lord asshole from chapter 1. Jaune used the "escape and leave it frozen" option that he bought while dying.
Now, we're assuming that it's a different world, but what if it isn't? What if they need to be extra careful to avoid screwing up the timeline? That would be interesting too I think
The girl with silver hair appeared in a place she did not recognize.
"Whoa… Where am I?"
A young man with dark eyes answered her. No one could say since when he was there.
"Welcome to the theater. Are you here for the show?"
"Theater? No, um, I wanted to poke my head through the portal thingy for a second. I-I just thought those three were interesting, I didn't mean to sneak in, ahaha."
And so the party gains a second divine patron! I admittedly don't know a lot about Chris but I think she could actually walk around as an adventurer so she could actually help the party beyond comintary.
Also accidentally getting dragged into the multiverse because you were too dam curious is the perfect way for gods to join the party.
Ok. So the adventuring card is OP, assuming they can continue to level up either from the mechanics working in other universes or just buying cabbages from konasuba. Given that aura is compatible with every universe I'm going to assume XP can be harvested from every other universe too. Coupled with their gains from Monster Hunter and the teams becoming an actual unit!
Hope that doesn't mean we're approaching the end of the story.
The cat is cute. I assume this class will eventually give her the legendary skill [Nine Lives], but otherwise giving her reskinned warrior/hunter/rouge skills. If I had to guess most of the stats going to luck then agility and dexterity with the rest being negligible. Not that she really needs the help since she's from Monster Hunter and can probably take a bullet to the face. On a related note: I assume Jaune gave her Aura along with the hunters last chapter so she's a crazy tough cat
Job: Scammer Current Skill List [Hidden Smirk]
[Grab Attention]
"Oh, fuck you," she spat venomously at the card. By now, the receptionist was eying her with great suspicion.
In the end, she chose the job of Scholar. It had no combat applications. However, the starting skill claimed to increase her reading speed, with Luna mentioning that future options include better memory retention and delaying sleep to burn the midnight candle for days at a time. Subtle skills that complemented her core strengths.
So Lisa got a class that's going to raise intelligence and grant low level thinker skills. Would a [Writing] skill just improve the speed and legibility of her writing or the general quality of the work?
Funny and reasonable mistake. It's going to improve his long range game while leveling his dexterity and agility? Seems like it'll him more well rounded in the future.

Yo me preguntó si todavía tiene esa capucha de pumpkin pete. Ya sabes? La oscura con un 'conejo' colocado en el centro. Si es así, me preguntó si cuando lo recuerde la va a quemar , sería gracioso.

This and the Killer Rabbit who may or may not follow them across worlds is even funnier when you know canon Jaune as the RK rides into battle on a giant rabbit like creature.
I get this mindset, I am the same usually with paladin classes, but one point is to know that the expected 'RPG' class really meets your expectations of its capabilities, and another is to blindly charge into the situation without verification. At the first opportunity Jaune just latched onto something familiar sounding.
And really, as an RPG class Remnant Huntsmen are less fighters and more extreme weapon specialists mixed with special operatives, with the overall combat style being chosen and developed during training period.
Though, I am not really that mad or super dissapointed with his decision, the class might develop into a great skillset for easier fullfilment of company commisions, like hunts and recource gathering missions. Plus, new agility/dexterity utility and possibly animal companionship.
Also there could be sub-classes like monster/demon/etc-hunter or grimm hunter, plus if I am not wrong, it is possible to learn skills from other jobs within the Konosuba system.
Also there could be sub-classes like monster/demon/etc-hunter or grimm hunter, plus if I am not wrong, it is possible to learn skills from other jobs within the Konosuba system.
Didn't quite like the impulsive choice of the hunter class, given all the steriotypical RPG clues. With the current class it will be harder to gain direct massive combat improvement.
I mean if you think about it, in Remnant RPGs the hunter/huntsman class would be based on their version of real life huntsman so it would be some kind of epic monster slaying class. This is just another instance of Autumn Moon highlighting the different methods of thinking for each world.
So I assume the guy talking to Eris is the outsider. So do they accidentally kidnap a goddess from her universe? Well, at least they'll have a cleric. On hand who could resurrect them? Maybe or at least heal them. And even if their classes can't give them any direct combat powers, they can still level up, which will increase their attributes, which will increase their ability to think. Remember strength speed. All that jazz, which will be useful in combat, even if they don't get any direct combat abilities. So I'm guessing Lisa couldn't get magic because she's from a non magic universe and he couldn't get magic because that ability was directly removed from humanity before the gods of Remnant left their world.
On Jaune picking the wrong class, I dunno. It seems in line with Konosuba? Like, people have classes that synergize with their stats but are hampered by their personality, or they got classes that ill-suit them yet they continue out of spite or stubborness.
Holy fuck, been a while since I've read Worm but this is before Leviathan attack right? World is not ready for 2 Tattletale. That is too much smugness for one world to contain.
Nope! It's my other story.
And if I have Yakuza in this one... well, Kasuga might have to compete with too strong a rival. I mean, 'Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii'!? Just that premise alone had me throwing money at my laptop screen.
Alright Jaune, I know that everyone makes mistakes, but jumping the gun twice this chapter has locked you out of an actual combat Job and stranded your party in a city that's about to explode. Of course, that is small potatoes compared to the fact that most of your party is not immune to thinkers in a world where Contessa exists!!! Even if Jaune himself is immune, her precognition can just automatically scan the other members to model him and what the Company can offer.
He's lucky that the Company tablet typically does not run on the rule "You kill it, you bought it", or else he would be dead before he even leaves the ally. Regardless, the chance to buy an actual Silver Bullet is not an opportunity that Cauldron will let slip out of their fingers. They'll probably just offer Jaune literal truckloads of the best tinkertech they have as long as he buys the Silver Bullet for them.
@LazyAutumnMoon , do you have a plan on how to deal with the presence of Cauldron? Because if they catch a whiff of the Company, then that will probably derail your entire story.
...What's Cauldron?
I think I've made it pretty clear by this point in the story that my knowledge of the setting comes from 'Stepping on Worm', and I don't remember that in there.
You fuckin bastard! This cliffhanger is evil! Evil!
Back to Brockton Bay… oh booyyyyyy. I guess this confirms the existence of alternate timelines. Two Tattletales. God help those poor denizens. Also our team's sanity. Like the others said, this is gonna be a mindfuck and a half.
Sundancer… he'll meet her again but she won't have a clue who he is. Man…
New spectator too? Who's kind of OP? So much shit happened in this chapter I'm kind of overwhelmed.
Edit: coming back to this to post more organized thoughts.
WC!Lisa's Passenger, in a manner of speaking, is about to have a blast. Oh man. I'm sure that won't cause issues whatsoever. Contessa, Cauldron. Very dangerous risks, given Lisa and Escha don't posses the Blank skill, like Methodic said. Jaune's understandable impulsiveness may just light the powder keg to a long, long list of potential problems
Escha got a reprieve for one chapter, but joining the team comes with expectations. Everyone else had to experience Worm, so it's not fair to give her a pass.
I laughed, I faceplamed and now I'm exited. It was a good idea to send them to Konosuba one of the most easygoing worlds out there. If you ingonre the war against demons of course. Who would guess that the trip to get some flying cabbages would turn out like this. Later Lisa will blame herself for tempting fate.
Of course, Jaune with his narrow vision will automatically chose Hunter as a class. This dude need to learn that in different worlds things can have different meanings. Nice way to avoid making him OP, though. And Lisa too. If Sundancer was there she would probably scream at those two for being fu**ing donkeys.
Thanks for reading!
If one word can have a different meaning, then could not every single word? But when almost every single word means exactly what it means, then how does one anticipate which word would be different? How does one know what they don't know?
Didn't quite like the impulsive choice of the hunter class, given all the steriotypical RPG clues. With the current class it will be harder to gain direct massive combat improvement.
On the other hand the class could help with resource gathering and monster tracking. Considering the variaty of hunting and gathering commisions from the company the hunter skillset might come in handy in amassing the company credits.
Also the skill tree might have an animal companionship skill. If it will allow to bond with some divine or demigod beast, all the better.
The Escha mix up was surprisingly funny.
It's slightly weird that Tattletale wouldn't pick up on Kazuma's isekai nature.
Also as funny as the scene about their Job class is I'd expect that Aura would count as Magic for the Job purpose?
Guess you deliberately didn't let them pick any magic using Jobs to keep the skill bloat and general power level down.
'ABB Bombings' lasted almost two whole weeks in universe. When would they start? After Somer's Rock meeting?
Wait a minute, so is this a case of Dragon Ball style time travel "separate reality, does not affect current timeline." Or is this Dr. Who style time travel where affecting the past affects the future?
If it's the latter. Will (Did?) any of the events that happen (happened?) in this jump affect the Leviathan fight without us realizing it?
What if Sundancer or any of the other capes actually were affected by JLE's actions here?
Maybe that's why certain things were different in the Leviathan fight and we just pinned it on Jaunes presence. Did you plan that OP and leave Easter eggs / foreshadowing in advance? Because that would be wicked sick if you did.
Interesting idea!...but not what I'm doing. That sort of storyline I can see working best in a tighter setting with fewer moving pieces, so that the details aren't lost in the shuffle.
So I'm guessing Lisa couldn't get magic because she's from a non magic universe and he couldn't get magic because that ability was directly removed from humanity before the gods of Remnant left their world.

Can you imagine? Cut it off right here, go radio silent XD
And I would personally see such a skill as improving the mechanical aspect of the process. The quality, the thinking part, is something that depends on the person to accomplish. Otherwise, what need would there be for schools and books in that sort of world? Just send the scholars and writers out to the front lines to gather EXP, then pick up the masterpieces to publish afterward.
Although, people IRL are working very hard to make the thinking part of writing optional, so that scenario is apparently the end goal.
...We were the game system isekai world all along!
Yo me preguntó si todavía tiene esa capucha de pumpkin pete. Ya sabes? La oscura con un 'conejo' colocado en el centro. Si es así, me preguntó si cuando lo recuerde la va a quemar , sería gracioso.
And a rabbit literally tried to murder him. Some things... some things can change even the stoutest of hearts *looks dramatically into the far distance*

I really do love KonoSuba for that. A seemingly generic isekai with system that's all about the human side at its core. That a parody was the one to focus on this aspect is wild.
.What's Cauldron?
I think I've made it pretty clear by this point in the story that my knowledge of the setting comes from 'Stepping on Worm', and I don't remember that in there.
They're Worm's illuminati created to battle the last boss of the universe by any means nescessary They are composed of some of the most powerful parahumans in the story, Contessa is one of their members and her power is Path of Victory, which creates 'paths' for her to achieve any objective as long as she follow its steps to the letter, there's a joke that if you go into the setting without thinker protection you'd get a bullet to the head by Contessa because the 'paths' she constantly had on would feel the disturbances the SI character would create and would create 'steps' to deal with it, even if Contessa didn't know anything about it (She can automate her body to follow the steps her power gives)
Though, the effectiveness of Contessa's power changes with the Writer, like Tattletales, you're are ironically pretty close to Worm canon when dealing with her, most people write her as just knowing everything instantly and being correct about it.
Oh oof, stepping on worm? Wasn't that one of the most hated worm fics out there point blank because of how badly it mangled just about everything? Can't believe you made me remember that existed... I should try and slog through that mess again I've had it too good for too long.
I quite liked Jaune instantly jumping onto the Huntsman job, it makes so much sense. To him that's not "guy who hunts animals" that's The Dream! Thats the ultimate class for a man who's dream is to be a huntsman!
Nobody has ever stopped and went through what that word actually means in most contexts with him, its beautiful.
Also, can't wait for the rabbit to make yet another appearance. It's gonna happen. Reoccurring boss encounter. Next time it'll have magic and a second stage.
I suppose you could handwave this by having the Outsider sense the party's potential imminent death and quickly give them temporary thinker immunity. It's kind of an ass pull, but otherwise, Contessa is going to detect them the second they walk through the portal. Just having Jaune immune to thinkers isn't enough because Path to Victory will just basically predict the other two member's actions, discover everything they know about the Company, and just drop Alexandria on Jaune. Being immune to thinkers doesn't mean you are immune to people of mass destruction. Also, full disclosure, the Triumvirate are all a part of Cauldron.
On the positive side, Cauldron does not become relevant to the Worm story until much later, so as long as you keep Contessa from noticing this trip, you can save worrying about Cauldron until much later.
