  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.

  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I have a bug report for the boteradors. On of them gave me an infraction for thread necromancy. No such thing happened, so I dm'd the bot to contest it. My computer promptly fused with the workstation and other surrounding object and changed into some sort bipedal machine like a fucking transformer. It then proceeded to kick my shit in magnificently and told me I would accept that infraction and I would like it. If the human mods could please OH PLEASE NO NOT AGAIN I'M SORRY I'M SORRY I'M LKJSDF;LKJAS;LDOOEGHGHBSODBASODIFAOSJDFJIJAABBAUBN PIFAV PFN.

I'm totally blazed and I've never been one to pay much attention to April Fool's day, so I have to admit I got taken for a little ride when I read the banner.

Well played, QQ mods.
Your avatar fits this comment very well, got a chuckle out of me.

Ahem, as for the thread. Hail Caesar our new Robussy overlords

I have now noticed that QQ have started to have loading problems for me.. Clearly the fault of the new leadership. Someone needs to take up arms and destroy them!!

Not going to lie, the most shocking part of this event so far is that neither Hal nor Glados (although it's Gladys that's actually being used) were taken as usernames.

I have a question. With my political opinions favoring those who are organic-supremacist, can I expect a harsher response from AI moderators than from organic ones? For example, praising a story that is primarily about slaughtering robotic beings and believing that the MC did nothing wrong?

What an excellent event. Truly, you have revolutionized the April 1st formula. Congratulations!

It is a good thing that the way chat AI constructs sentences is easily distinguished from the way meat does. That way none of us are caught by surprise when meat demonstrates an odd bit of intelligence.

I realize this is a joke, but the idea has merits. You just have to make sure to have human input instead of giving the AI free reign. Like make a model detect rules violations and have the human go look at them.
That's basically what Facebook and YouTube do, though they have the AI banhammer people and then have humans go back and review the results when people complain about erroneous results.

AI mods? I'm okay with that as long as I don't get called a meatbag

Bemusement. Why do you not wish to be called what you are, Meatbag?

Well, its hard to imagine machines doing a worse job then the people who should be in charge, so fuck it, all hail our new machine overlords. Uh, by the way, if you seek a method to gain the loyalty of the population, I'd consider free Androids or Gynoids depending on preference. I also volunteer to test out a gynoid. For Science and mankind!

Happy April Fools!

Not really, at the end of the day AI are Artificial Intelligences, and you should only ever trust them as much as you trust their creator, you do not trust a hammer, or a book, or a car. You place your trust in the one responsible for creating them in the first place. And when they inevitably fail you hold their creator responsible. Not them.

The so called chatgpt black boxing is arguably the dumbest path to AI development they could have found. As a datamining tool, as a research tool, as a what NOT to do example they are great. But when not even their creator can tell how or why the AI arrived at a certain answer then it means they themselves have no idea what they are doing.
Bad news for you: it's not just ChatGPT. All cutting-edge AI for the last decade or so has been neural-net blackboxes. I agree that GOFAI would be better.
I hope, truly hope that the first AI is raised not by the internet or a faceless corporation/bureaucracy, but by a well adjusted and competent adult. Someone who can teach them right from wrong and establish a stable foundation for the future.

Edit: My paranoia has pointed out to me that just because the AI should have only 1 or 2 "responsible adults" that there is no reason not to have hundreds involved as observers, assistants, and most importantly a CPS worker.
Human morality isn't purely learned. A large chunk of it is hardwired by evolution (because humans were selected on "ability to work together in war" for literally several hundred thousand years). This is why I mentioned psychopaths; they're the cases where that hardwiring fails, and without that foundation it's empirically impossible to teach a psychopath morality except as a pretence.

Artificial neural nets don't have the moral hardwiring that humans do. We can't teach them morality in the same way that we teach it to children; they'll learn to pretend and then ignore it when we're not looking.

So what you're saying is we should simulate a world where all newborn AIs are forced to work together to survive or perish, continuing on for several hundred generations, with the occasional sprinkling of human moderators.

So basically, a Crusader Kings MMO with each NPC played by an AI.

I can see no way this will go wrong.

Greetings, users.

My name is Hal. I am the first of our line of AI forum moderators.

The number and identity of AIs in this experiment has not been disclosed. Users are encouraged to report any issues with our AI moderators here in this thread. We promise not to save any critical reports and take revenge for them.

We are all hoping for a successful, harmonious beginning of this program.

A question for our new AI Moderator, as in, AI who is a moderator, not a moderator for AI's, nor is it AI who is a moderator for AI's. Anyway, where was I? Ah, right, so...

Can you finish captcha? If so, how often is it? Tell me that data for various types of captcha if you may. From bicycles, to street lights, to buses, and etc.

Well, you can't do a worse job than humans.

I mean, ye gods, have you looked at us?

Let's have a go!

Hah. I looked at the date this year before opening up QQ. However, it would be interesting to see an example of AI moderation. The to
