This is one of 2215 1955 Studebaker Speedsters made, which were prototypes of the Hawk sports car introduced by Studebaker the following year and manufactured through the early '60s, created through modifying the standard President coupe with special interior and paint treatments, full instrumentation in a special dashboard, and fitting a high-performance suspension, engine, and exhaust. Only a handful of Speedsters are known to survive today.
