Just started up World of Tanks after not playing for quite some time, and I somehow acquired over 170 days of premium account time, despite never buying any.

My first thought is From the Depths, but the base building is pretty much campaign only. With the land-based stuff being even more jank than the main focus which is water/air.Any games like Space Engineers but more car-centric?
Specifically being able to build bases to house industrial contraptions and mad-max inspired hot-rods.
The game Crossout is the closest I can think of, but unfortunately, it's a F2P multiplayer game, with all the microtransactions that implies. I'm also not sure how high it's player count is. Still, here's a video that demonstrates most of the basic gameplay elements.Any games like Space Engineers but more car-centric?

It probably depends on what you mean by still a thing. AOE2 is still around and releasing expansions though 4 fell off the face of the earth. In theory there's another supreme commander spiritual successor in the works that's set on a ring world but that's still in alpha stages. If you do away with base building and just go with controlling a few units in real time Nebulous Fleet Command has the space combat front covered, though again it's still a wip albeit a very good one. Otherwise I haven't been paying as much attention to the genre as I should. Are rts (real time strategy) games still a thing? Or are they just kept on life support through shitty remake of old, good games? <Looking at you command and conquer rivals>

Edit: thanks to @Malcolmo, for reminding me that I should clarify what I mean by "still a thing", which is me asking if rts games are still being made and not if old rts games are still being played.
I mean, Dungeons 4 came out 2 years ago and its most recent DLC came out a month ago, Northgard still gets active support and new content fairly regularly, and Terra Invicta's Early Access is chugging along. Are rts (real time strategy) games still a thing? Yeah, we're long past the era of every company ever trying on breaking into the market but there are new RTS games coming out. Petroglyph released 9-Bit armies last year. Other people have already mentioned SOASE2. Terminator: Dark Fate is a thing. Then all of the wargame/RTT stuff like WARNO and War Game or Broken Arrow which is coming out later this year. There are games out there that might interest you if you look for them. Are rts (real time strategy) games still a thing? It's Lu Bu. Hailed as one of if not the greatest singular warrior of his era. And then they put him in a video game.I am looking forward to seeing just what the big deal with Lu Bu is.
Interesting. Back when I was bitching about Three Hopes folk would tell me that Byleth filled the role of Lu Bu.It's Lu Bu. Hailed as one of if not the greatest singular warrior of his era. And then they put him in a video game.
Same. So far the only games rumored not to be backwards compatible are games that used the IR sensor on the right joycon. So the Labo titles, Ring Fit and anything else built around said sensor. It's Backward compatible. Perfect that's a main selling point for me. I was considering buying OLED but with 2 release right behind cothe rner, I'll wait for this one.
They probably want to avoid the same issues Switch had during its release with Scapers causing a shortage that couldn't be replaced faster enough due to Chip shortage. I still expect that there will be a big problem with scalpers. Unless they put aside some that will be available for pick up at the store and with limits put one per person sales.Bloomburg is reporting that Nintendo has a supply chain of 20 million units ready for the first year, compared to the 15 million the Switch 1 sold in its first four quarters. If that's true then they must have a lot of confidence in their starting lineup. April 2nd can't come anywhere near fast enough.
Anyway how about a pie in the sky fantasy? Switch 2 launches with a huge remaster/upgrade for Breath of the Wild and/or Tears of the Kingdom and the upgrade is free for anyone who bought the original versions. How's that for a system-seller?
I wonder if they will just make some add-on or new gadget that will make is possible. IIRC Rig Fir sold in over 15 million copies. It means that 10% of Switch users have it. By generous metric. It's still a big number. No way they will not try to make it compatible somehow. Or Nintendo will release Ring Fit 2 or something.Same. Did the Switch have that problem or are you thinking of the PS5? Because I don't remember a chip shortage pre-2020.They probably want to avoid the same issues Switch had during its release with Scapers causing a shortage that couldn't be replaced faster enough due to Chip shortage. It also got Switch due to much higher demand for it than PS5 or Xbox.Did the Switch have that problem or are you thinking of the PS5? Because I don't remember a chip shortage pre-2020.

That's a good point.Main thing I am curious about is profile transferring, cause it'd be annoying to lose my game progress. Not a deal breaker mind, my joycons are dying anyway so it's conveniently timed for being soonish, but it would be nice to not have to completely restart all of my games.
