It's not that she's a story killer, it's that she's a Chekov's Gun that needs to be loaded, rather than a Deus ex Machina to end a cliffhanger. Introducing her in the same chapter you're using her is the latter, while her having an initial conversation with Janet a few chapters back is the former.

She's annoyingly hard to use. You've used her well before (Security for one), but this time around her arrival was too fast.
 
Annette could hide on the roof and try to shoulder check Max out of the way so she could run down the stairs, causing him to lose his balance, fall down the stairs and break his neck.. or you can just tell them (us) to eat cake, and have Tessa make a deal with them once they have their wits about them (you're the lucky ones, you get an un-asked-for save. for this save, you owe me a favor, which i will collect exactly when i need it. Get your shit together if you don't want me to literally own you)
 
Meh. Contessa is kinda the easy way out but weather your write her in or not, everything that happens is either becauase of her or the smurf.

    Okay then. Recoil is up, not much to anyone's surprise. Also in the 1500+ range we have Hostage Situation, One More Trigger, War Games and at just under we have Junior Hero.

    The smart money for next round is on War Games or Hostage Situation, followed by One More Trigger.

    For anyone who hasn't voted on this thread before, the voting rules go as follows:

    1) UP TO six votes. I will not count anything extra, and a write-in will likely be ignored (if I want to write a different story, I will, but at my own discretion).     Uuuum I was under the impression that since you removed the Janet parts to move them to the next chapter you would actually finish said chapter before moving to the next voted series.
    I guess I was wrong.
    Maybe you should mention it on the Alea Iacta Est threads?
