With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

I can't really imagine any teenage superhero willingly wearing that, a costume like that doesn't look comfortable to wear. Does Argent have some kind of enhanced resilience because then it might still make a bit of sense.

The actual reason is that DC was creating a new Teen Titans team and Argent was selected to be "the sexy one, like Starfire". She does not have enhanced endurance, other than in the sense that everybody in comic book land can take a few hits more than they realistically probably could.

"Adrianna Tomaz, yes. Her and the goddess Isis, whose power she's channelling. She's increased food availability, shade, ended soil erosion and annual flooding, and generally made a broad swath of the continent a much nicer place to live."

I'm not sure that arbitrarily mucking around with the ecological balance of a continent like that will be without consequences, but I guess few people are sorry to see the desert go.

"Was there an..? External trigger..?"

"Yeah!" She nods. "The Anti-Life! Didn't you get told this stuff?"

Interesting. So she didn't have her canon origin story; the anti-life kicked off her powers early. Meaning there's still aliens in her future. Probably.

Miss Monetti stares at her. "Ah..?"

"Miss Monetti, meet Kara the Course Hazard. She'll be assisting me."

A man without a head just showed up on the scene, and Kara is who she's staring at?! (Well perhaps she hasn't properly registered Ian yet, Kara certainly does attract attention.)

Anyway, new-Kara certainly does have a lot of time on her hands. Well I mean, she's basically a NEET. Not in Education, Training, or Employment. Becoming a teacher course hazard is at least making herself useful in some structured way, rather than flying around aimlessly looking for super work to do.

I'm imagining that Kara got an OMAC-operator handler to suggest missions to her, and it lasted about a day before Mister Atom declared the experiment canceled.

Eyes somewhat recovered, she walks over to the railings and looks out towards the north. "This is the middle of Africa?"

"In the north-south sense, just about."

"I thought this was all… Desert."
Fun fact, this is actually really really bad as the desert provides a number of necessary environmental functions and majorly effects the weather across northern Africa and Europe.

It would functionally kill the Amazon rainforest by removing the natural fertilization process that keeps it going and cause massive droughts across northern Africa and Europe.

Yeah, it's not like there is an actual goddess there that can manipulate the environment and fix any such issues.

Oh, wait.

It would functionally kill the Amazon rainforest by removing the natural fertilization process that keeps it going and cause massive droughts across northern Africa and Europe.

Yeah, it's not like there is a super powerful Dryad there that can fix that.

Oh, wait.

Oh, wait.
Actually she can't, she doesn't have that sort of power anymore.

Hell, in Zoat's take of things gods with hundreds of millions of followers don't have that level of power.

Also, that would involve crossing over into the Olympians control, which would get her wiped out.

Yeah, it's not like there is a super powerful Dryad there that can fix that.

Oh, wait.
There actually isn't, Dryad's work within natural processes, not outside of them.

Actually she can't, she doesn't have that sort of power anymore

Except we've seen her do some impressive things with her power, so doing that wouldn't be out of the question.

If you've already forgotten, she managed to terraform an entire desert, so further manipulation of the environment isn't out of the question.

Hell, in Zoat's take of things gods with hundreds of millions of followers don't have that level of power

Except they do, and most of the divinities showed don't have that many followers.

But we know the Khandaqi gods are being revived, and I'm betting that after Adom protected his whole country, and several other countries from the Anti-Life, the worship in his gods has grown further.

Also, that would involve crossing over into the Olympians control, which would get her wiped out.

You do remember that the various pagan gods may be forming a coalition in order to better expand their faiths?

So Heph may be fine with Isis crossing over into their territory, provided she shares the worship.

There actually isn't, Dryad's work within natural processes, not outside of them.
Provide evidence that that's the case in this story.

And that particular Dryad is not an ordinary Dryad anymore.

You know it's Vaermina right? They're winding you up by being deliberately wrong.
