So in about 13 hours from this posting. I go under the knife for a major surgery to get my cancer dealt with. Frankly speaking, I'm terrified. Not just of being put to sleep and then not waking up, but also of being completely powerless and at someone else's mercy. But supposedly it's expected to go well.
So there's a Skyrim SI fic called Tamrielic Dreaming, so far without any chapter from the SI's viewpoint. How does it feel to have been at the forefront of this style of SI?

I find I am not against the kind of cheat system where it just has two functions; 1. there's a system shop that has every item in existence with a price equal to value 2. everyday there are three random items in the shop that are on sale for one dollar each

Came over from FFN a while ago, created an account and promptly forgot about it until someone who's FF's I was reading recommended coming here, whereupon I re-discovered this account.
Welp, I'm 50, married with 3 cats. I work as an account manager at a service company, but I tend to also wear many hats (we all do, small company with global reach...) I started Fanfic's reading predominantly HP, but as a child of the 80s and a perpetual nerd, there are very few fandoms I do not at least pay a smattering of attention to.

Hi, I was reading your HI3rd story, To Dance on Thin Ice (which I really like! Thanks for writing it!), and I saw that you recently started HI3rd again and lost your account. Do you want my old account? I don't really care about it anymore. I've played from about 2018 to version 7.3 with Senadina, so it doesn't have some of the newer stuff, but it might be better than using a week old account.

The only other big story sites I know of are Royal Road, for Webnovels, and original content. (Although it has Fanfiction too.) And I suppose Alternate History, although that one is really really bad and almost impossible to get into as the admin is a super control freak, but it had some interesting alt history stories before things got really bad. Figured I'd mention that here, instead of in the Silly thread.

Thank you for the suggestions. I know there are all sorts of places to find stories but sometimes it feels like that pool is getting increasingly small. Maybe I'm losing my ability to search for stories, maybe as time goes on my tastes have become more selective, but increasingly I'm coming to the conclusion that the only way to find the stories I want to read is to write them myself.

Well there is also reddit.... Yeah.

But mostly it's that the smaller sites that used to exist, especially fan communities have all basically merged into things like Ao3. First it was Tumblr which gobbled many of them up. (Yuck.) But Ao3 is becoming the new FF.net, which also had taken in a lot of older fanfic sites from the 90's when it first got big.
