Glad that the year's almost over. Been really busy all year. The few points I actually had enough free time to write I just ended up sitting there with writer's block.

Then just this last month my vehicle stopped working and I had to get that fixed, all the plumbing in my house stopped working so I couldn't even run water in the sink until that got fixed and the higher ups at work decided to send a bunch of people on a training course all at once so every single shift was heavily understaffed.

Plus as a world for a fanfic it gives you a lot of space to work with on account of limited world building. I heard the author was going to add mystical elements later on, but we will never know what he had planned.

Modular setups are preferable, having this single expensive non-repairable blackbox fail is quite annoying. Literally all my stuff works... except the expensive paperweight my setup depends on. *pout*

Whitebox/DIY is the way. A bit more expensive at the start, but being able to actually repair them ends up a lot cheaper when something goes wrong.
