Asuna wasn't originally supposed to play but the author "forced" her to find a "sudden interest" in wearing her brother's Nervegear. Without Death's Game, Asuna would have been married to Sugou and it was over for her.

Sachi was closer to Kirito but the author rewrote their relationship. never forgave Reiki for that, there was a better way.

Marianne also looks like what most people would assume Berkut and Rinea's daughter would look like and Marianne's Crest (magical power that has a shape) looks like a symbol used by a dragon connected to Berkut. oof. That story is breaking my brain little by little. The plan I had for the story had already changed 4 times now. And I haven't even planned anything after the first arc. TBH I am thinking about rewriting it from the beginning but before that, I need to decide on what happens next. Not just vague ideas that get changed 4 times in a row.
