[RWBY] RWBY Shorts

The Rusted Knight-Alter New
In the Ever After... Without all that nonsense at the start... RWBY comes across the Rusted Knight. He saves them from peril... And then takes off his helmet.

Ruby: "... Jaune?!"

Jaune: "... I... Do I know you?"

Yang: "Hey! Looking hot, VB!"

Weiss: "Very mature!"

Blake: "You're the Rusted Knight?"

Jaune: "..." blinks

Ruby: "You... You do remember us... Don't you? It's me, Ruby."

Jaune: "..." He stares at his hands, and then at them "I have been guarding this land for so long... My life... It is a castle built of sand. Each grain is a single memory... And the world is an ocean that crashes against it. Every time the waves come in... A little more fades away. I am the king of a crumbling castle... One day... One day, I will be swept into the sea with my castle... With the last grains of sand..."

Ruby's eyes become filled with tears.

Ruby: "Jaune?"

Jaune: "It is... It is all falling away. There was... There was a girl with red hair. There was a blonde woman who smiled down at me. There was a blonde man who held me in his arms and laughed... But it's all faded away. My anger... My fear... It's all being replaced with nothing. And I am... I am empty..."

Ruby: "Oh... Jaune..." sobs

...Imagine if Jaune's Nightmare in Ice Queendom was expanded in the same way as Weiss. In canon, he was "too weak" for the Nightmare to gain any power.

In a Trained!Jaune's case; the Nightmare got far more of a boost from Jaune than they did with Weiss. Not only due to Jaune's outrageous natural power, but also due to Aura Amp making things worse by furthering powering up the Nightmare as well.

The conflict would be along the line of: A [White Knight], the embodiment of Jaune's Will, Goodness and basically a Psychic Manifestation of him fighting the Nightmare's influence is still weakened by his insecurities and can't access most of his powers yet, while the [Nightmare], while far more powerful than ever they still bit of more than they could chew; since their "conscience" (or what passes for it) was actually subsumed and taken over by the [Black Dragon], the embodiment of Jaune's self-hatred, his suppressed yet massive anger issues, the smothering, overbearing and nigh-neurotic over-protectiveness AND the cold and cynical side of him he really hates and tries to keep hidden as much as he can.

It's basically a conflict between Jaune wanting to be the ideal hero his ancestors were (AKA: the [White Knight]) vs the reality of him actually being more akin to the classical Byronic Anti-Hero (AKA: the [Black Dragon]) and trying to reconcile the fact that both aspects need not be mutually exclusive.

**I say [Black Dragon], but it's actually a Black Knight, not an actual dragon. It's just that it represents Jaune's fears of people loving him only for the Knight aspect of his personality but fearing the Dragon aspect of it.

To further give an idea of the thought processes behind The Knight and The Dragon, and how they are still Jaune Arc at their core

[White Knight]: A Knight will always strive to do good and protect the innocent.
[Black Dragon]: A Dragon will always protect what is theirs.

[White Knight]: One must protect not just people's bodies but also their hearts.
[Black Dragon]: So long as they still remain alive and safe; they can fear and hate me all they wish.

Why not add the Rusted Knight to it, with Ever After shenanigans?
Jaune subconsciously uses his semblance in jaundice, so maybe the Nightmare could do the same?

Why not add the Rusted Knight to it, with Ever After shenanigans?

The [Rusted Knight] is just a Remnant, a Lingering Will; a Husk that happens to bear elements of both the [White Knight] and the [Black Dragon] but otherwise represents the Jaune who gave everything he had for others to the point he "burned out" and only his Purpose remains. He's the logical conclusion of the Hero's Journey, AKA: The Path of Self-Denial and Self-Sacrifice.

Jaune subconsciously uses his semblance in jaundice, so maybe the Nightmare could do the same?

The Nightmare can; but at the end, the Nightmare is a Grimm and Grimm have no Souls of their own. The Soul the Nightmare amplifies upon using Aura Amp is that of Jaune's, or rather the [Black Dragon]'s in this case; which only ends with the Nightmare overwhelmed and inevitably consumed/subsumed by the [Black Dragon]'s Will.

Ren is a closet Mistralian animation enthusiast and hus favorite series is about a Loud mouthed Ninja with a heart of gold.

Considering Blake's nature, you know she is a complete degenrate and has too many written pieces of fanfiction anout this series.

Blake and Ren accidentally discover each other's love for this series when they both tried to get the same volume of manga at a book shop.

A mutual friendship starts between the two ninjas, as Ren is suddenly plunged into a new friendship, he fears he may be losing his love for Nora in favor of his current friendship.

It lasts till the point Shitty Kitty opens her mouth and starts complaining that the MC should have gotten together with his main rival.

Saying what a hot incestuous spiritual relationship it would have been between men, a perfect yapi couple and goes on an LGBTQ representation rant(not realising that the main character is pretty much gender fluid and occasionally calls him slurs because she is used to saying vile shit and getting away with it)

Needless to say Ren lost all live, he personally shipped MC with his other best friend, the calm collected, loyal to the bone, ride or die, that understands both the rival and MC's heart, who despite his wish for a monotonous life goes beyond the call of duty for his friends and becomes the MC's right hand to support him with his intelligence.

However, Ren is an absolute chad, he doesn't cry if his OTP wasn't implemented and is respectful of the Canon ship, knowing that MC deserves a devoted lover who supports him and shares his viewpoint after all the trials and rejection he has faced.

Still, Ren doesn't break off the friendship.

Until, Blake showed her true degeneracy.

He saw her writing another fanfiction and asks for the plot.

As per usual, it's about the MC and his rival in a relationship.

But this time, Both her cheating with their canon partner and not only that, the MC is abusive towards is canon wife.

And she also writes Blacked NTR in the same story(you know who she is going to write as the NTR antagonist and who is going to be fucked)

And from that day, team JNPR and team RWBY became blood enemies.

(Ren was Traumatized for a week and when Nora got to know about this, she practically destroyed half of Beacon in next team 4v4 combat lesson)

That's absolutely hilarious and sadly, all too conceivable. Develop this idea further!

The Rusted Knight-Alter 2 New
The idea as developed on my Discord went like this:

Alyx's betrayal broke Jaune-Literally. He broke into a few different versions of himself. None of them want to be reunited again. There's Jaune as a Child, as a Teenager, as a Man, as a Middle Aged Man, as an Old Man, and as the Rusted Knight.

The Innocent, the Boy, the Healer, The Wraith, the Ancient, and the Rusted Knight.

The Innocent is a little boy, innocent and happy. Neo took him in because he was so sweet and happy. She couldn't bare to let an innocent, happy child suffer. And the Innocent is, on some level, aware of who he is but doesn't WANT to go back to suffering.

The Teenager is Jaune as he was before he came to Beacon, and he's filled with all the insecurities and fears of a normal teen. He is running away from what he's supposed to be doing, stuck in the eternal time before he came to Beacon: And he wants to stay there.

The Healer is Jaune taking the path his mother wanted him to: An adult doctor. He lives near the Paper Pushers and provides medical aid and help. He laments ever going to Beacon, thinking he should have just listened to his mother and not tried to become a Huntsman-Because it has brought nothing but grief and pain to everyone. He's bitter and sarcastic but still fairly kind and understanding-Like Doctor McCoy.

The Wraith is Jaune as a middle-aged man: Bitter, angry, sarcastic and full of his snark. He is Jaune's anger and resentment, his rage. He tears down anyone who tries to get close to him.

The Ancient is Jaune as an old man: Filled with nothing but regrets and lamentation over losing Pyrrha and having to kill Penny. He suffers the full weight of everything he went through, all the years he spent waiting for RWBY, alone with his guilt. He wants to die, but he can't. He is despair personified.

And the Rusted Knight... Is Jaune's core. His desire to do good and be a hero. To protect the innocent, his hope personified. He holds the line... And all the other Jaunes despise him.

So RWBY and Neo have to work together to try and bring the Jaunes back into one being, or else they're never going to escape the Ever After. Yes it's Jaune-centric but the point is that each member of RWBY has to face their own weaknesses and insecurities to help Jaune overcome his.

Ruby: "Jaune! We're trying to help you-!"

Child!Jaune: "You never helped me! It was always all about YOU! YOU YOU YOU! Your quest, your drama, your obsessions and issues! You didn't tell Ironwood the truth! You caused all that damage! Everyone who died is YOUR FAULT! PYRRHA DIED BECAUSE YOU DIDN"T GET THERE IN TIME! So no! I don't wanna grow up! I don't want to hurt anymore, not when all you do is hurt EVERYONE!"

Teen!Jaune: "Weiss... Weiss, I'm scared. I... I just put on a big show to try and hide it, but I was scared all the time. Scared of failing, scared of failing someone I cared about. Being a sick child, I... I figured the only way to make up for everything my parents did for me was to be a hero. To prove that I could stand on my own... But I didn't, did I? I just screwed everything up."

Healer!Jaune: "This is what I could have been, Yang! What I should have been! A doctor, a healer! Why did we choose that path!? PYRRHA COULD HAVE LIVED IF NOT FOR US! We didn't have any business trying to be heroes, and I'm living proof of it. I should have just done this, because this way I could at least make a real difference in the world! You know this is true! Where's your fire, huh? It vanished when you lost your arm! Meekly accepting everything, even Blake coming back after all she did!"

Wraith!Jaune: "You know Blake. I actually kinda admired you. You had NO problem running away at all. I wish had that kind of courage...but I was too scared to say anything. I was too scared to admit to weakness...I was too scared to admit my own fears! But you! You ran away without a second thought...If I had your bravery....maybe it wouldn't hurt so much. Maybe I just needed to wrap myself up in self righteousness and be the victim, no matter what, to be forgiven!"

Old!Jaune: "WHY AM I THE ONE STILL HERE?! Why am I the one who lived?! I'm nothing! They! They were the ones that mattered! Why did they have to die?!" Breaks down into tears, "Why couldn't have it been me?"

Rusted Knight: "If you want to give up... I'd understand. I can't get through to any of them... I suppose I have a lot of issues."

Ruby: "You stayed here, waiting for us for so long... We won't give up on you, Jaune. I promise..."

Pyrrha and the Power of the Celestial Bureaucracy New
A kinda fun not quite a Isekai idea.

Pyrrha is not happy about her death. At all. She was expecting to at least live past graduation! Instead she's in the afterlife.

Which is set up like the fucking DMV and for some reason has elevator music playing.

So understandably she loses her shit. Just a tiny bit of extreme violence, side not semblances and aura are a whole lot stronger when you don't have flesh getting in the way.

After about two hours of violence security finally pin Pyrrha and take her to the bosses.

Mostly because outside of her soul being marked for one of the nicer afterlives (before her crash out) there's nothing on her. Or any of the Remnant souls to be honest. It's a big multiverse and they're really busy so they didn't notice when a multiverse cluster stopped submitting paperwork.

The brother gods are gonna be in big shit for not managing their world properly (and collecting a salary the entire time).

As soon as they can find the fuckers. They've been on a bend fucking around with some of the world's who don't have gods yet or that most gods avoid claiming responsibility for (looking at you Worm 8799923 and your The-Kephri-who-Laughs).

Well since Pyrrha wants those fuckers to pay and the gods really just want this shit over and done with they cut a deal.

"Take a power boost, jump around until you find the fuckers then call us. We'll grab them and give your world a spin back and correction to some of the bullshit they caused, not all of it because a bunch of it is baked into the setting of your universe now but we can definitely revive you and strip away some immortality. Maybe even revive a few others depending on how badly we need to correct things."

The Mind's Eye New
Another idea we had on the Discord? Atlas has developed prototype mind diving technology that allows you to go into another person's head. They actually manage to capture Cinder, and Jaune volunteers to dive into her head to learn what she knows. Turns out that thanks to the Maiden Power Transfer, a tiny bit of Pyrrha's Aura got into Cinder when she died, and Jaune's Aura was awakened by Pyrrha. And Jaune has an enormous amount of Aura so he could, in theory, hold his own when it comes to sheer power.

So in Cinder's head it's a battle of wills. Deception, illusions, fighting against one another with memories and emotions. Each using the other's pain and worst memories against each other.

But Jaune gets a helping hand from what's left of Pyrrha's Aura. He thinks maybe there's a chance to save her, to get her soul out and into a robot body. To bring her back to life. With her help, he's able to break Cinder, and find her core: A scared, abused little girl in the Glass Unicorn.

He helps her see she doesn't need power or to hurt people to feel safe. And she agrees to work with them. He turns to Pyrrha's remnant to get her out with him... But.

Pyrrha's remnant isn't trying to get herself saved.

Pyrrha: "I'm sorry... I'm dead. When this is over... I'll be gone. Except in your memories."

Jaune: "No... No, please... Please... I can't..."

Pyrrha: "I know... I know, I'm sorry. I just wanted to say... Goodbye Jaune. I love you. And please... Find a way to be happy. Find a way for all of you to be happy..."

Jaune: "I was only strong because you... You made me that way."

Pyrrha: "You became strong for those who needed you... And they still do."

That would be a relationship hurdle though. Pyrrha inside the body of who killed her... Does plastic operation exist in Remnant?
I can work some bullshit.

The body is shaped by the soul. Add in magic and Pyrrha over the course of a few months gets close to her old appearance.

I imagine there will be a bit of pain as things shift around. Like growing pains or getting a cramp in a foot that fell asleep.

Her hair is a bit darker and her eyes are a different shade of green. She's a bit paler. But she's recognizably Pyrrha.

Ah magic. "Fuck you, it's magick." is always a good reason to use.

This is a personal rant of mine but does anyone else think that the Bechdel test is bullshit?

For those who don't know- Bechdel test is a simple test that determines if a piece of media has appropriate female representation or not.

It goes like this- Take two female characters in that medium- they must have names and significant role in the story- and see if they have a conversation about any topic on screen and see if there exists a single cinversation where they don't discuss anything about a male character then they pass the test.

Going by this logic, a lot of media with poor to below average female representation pass tge test and many that are about badass female representation fail the test.

Like, I am familiar with Queen Lakshmibai, an Indian freedom fighter who took reign of her Kingdom after the death of her husband, and she went to battkes while carrying her infant son strapped to her back.

Take any movie of her's and you will see they don't pass this test but she is still an amazing historical figure, who is still taught as an example of woman empowerment.

This rest has so many false positives and false negatives I wonder why is it even considered still.

For example, take RWBY itself, yeah it passes Bechdel test by a landslide, especially the main heroines.

But considering where they are now, I wouldn't dare consider them good female representation.

Pyrrha, Nora, Neo, Glynda, Winter etc. are good female representation.

They act as subordinates to males but I would never consieer them as bad female representation.

Pyrrha is finding her love in a world of glamour and stardom, taken away from life itself not because she wished to stay with the one she loves but for her own noble Ideals.

Nora is active and alive, she is strong, yet she was the one who was concerned about the Faunus more than Blake in Mantle.

She was always awesomee but that didn't come at the cost of her love(well till the end where CRWBY took a bold decision)

Neo's own motivation is vengeance for her partner in crime but she isn't as cringe and irritating as Harley Quinn. She is both herself and Roman's partner at the same time.

Sorry, for the rant but I had to get it off my chest.

The Bechdel Test was meant as a joke by its own creator but feminists and beta males took it literally because they are joyless losers. Girls gossip about and crush on boys. This is normal. That this doesn't happen much in RWBY save in the manga and anime adaptation is because Japan's creative culture is not run by insane people.

A few prompts to chase away the Monday blues:

-Whitley Schnee meets Ruby's father and uncle.

-Blake thinks Sun is dying: Turns out he's just an idiot having an allergic reaction. But it did get her to admit her feelings for him.

-Penny wants to know what it is like to have a brother, so she asks Jaune to play her brother for a while.

-Jaune runs into a disguises Weiss before the start of Beacon in Vale, and makes a much better first impression on her.

-More ideas for the Arc Clan!

>Who is the Great-Grandchild of Edward Elric-Arc and Winry Elric-Arc who is the same age as Jaune?

>How do Nana Arturia and Granny Xiao-Long react to learning Yang and Jaune are dating?

>Which of Jaune's sisters will visit next?

Whitley Schnee meets Ruby's father and uncle.
She would not like Qrow. Not because of his irrelevant personality, but his alcoholism.

Blake thinks Sun is dying: Turns out he's just an idiot having an allergic reaction. But it did get her to admit her feelings for him.
Desert monkey boy is allergic to shellfish, go figure.

Penny wants to know what it is like to have a brother, so she asks Jaune to play her brother for a while.
And that's how the palindiness got adopted into the arcs

>How do Nana Arturia and Granny Xiao-Long react to learning Yang and Jaune are dating?

Nana: dominate her on the battlefield and then in the bedroom! Once you have won both she must take your last name as is tradition!

Granny: granddaughter, break his hips! Show him true power of dragon! Break brain and make him kowtow in arena and in bedroom!

Jaune and Yang are incredibly mortified.

More ideas for the Arc Clan!
Hey, so I have two things for this.

Whacky wazhoo great great grandpa Dante who was the best Huntsman of his time but he fell to a hellish part of Ever After and has been fighting Grimm there for a lot of time now.

He sees Jaune in EverAfter and like how he realised Nero was Vergil's son, he realises Jaune is related to him as well.

Nicholas' grandpa was born due to a Night of good food, good drinks and someone who finally somehow managed to remind Dante that he has hormones and Shooting you in the face is objectively the hottest start to a romance.

Needless to say Dante is gonna make sure that his family is safe.

So my next Idea is about Xiao-Long family.

It is told in legends(as far as Taiyang remembers about the childhoos stories) that the Xiao-Longs are contracted to a powerful spirit of a dragon.

One look at this family's history and you realise, they had some weird trends in their bloodline as well.

Danny Rand wished to find and link up with his wayward cousin Taiyang and crosses paths with his niece Yang. Well, looks like destruction of property and Vigilantism runs in the family.

who is that someone? i've only a bit of that 2007 Animated Series, so my knowledge of devil may cry is non-existent
Watch DMC3 gameplay(or play it yourself if you can get a copy of it).

Otherwise.

It's Lady, during one of the sections of the game, Lady falls of a large tower, Dante catches her by her legs and she shoots him in the face.

Mostly because at that point of time Lady was super demon hater because of incident with her father but that's going to require me to explain you the entire story of DMC3

Jaune and the girls went to the Forge, the home of a true god. Such a thing leaves a mark on your soul and acquiring such a thing sends shockwaves through time and fate.

Jaune Arc was eight years old when his aura awakened. There was no danger, no fanfare, no ritual. One second he was eating cereal with his mouth open to bugg his sister, the next he was face down in the bowl unconscious.

In his dreams Jaune floated through a dark empty sky until he landed on a beautiful pillar covered in carved statues.

Adults, children, men, monsters, love, hate, hope, grief. Every body and every expression was present.

"Greetings little knightlight you're a bit far from home aren't you?"

There was someone else here! Clad ina large travelers cloak not much of the strangers body could be seen. The hood his their face except for their glowing silver eyes.

"You were expected but not so soon, after all you went to the Forge so it's only natural you would end up at the Bargain."

But Jaune had never been to a forge?

"Sir what is this place? And who are you?"

"My you were a polite one at this age. This is the Bargain child. A place where you can gain fantastic abilities for yourself and others, and lose so much if you're not careful."

"That sounds scare Mr. I don't think I should buy anything without my parents."

"Unfortunately this place is invite only, but if you choose not to buy anything that is your choice. I merely ask you look at my wares first. Oh and my name is Pathways."

What an odd name. So Jaune looked around. Some of the statues seemed to call to him.

The first statue was a girl with a scythe in her lap. The statue has many cracks on it and on it were three items.

"Ah drawn to the rose I see? A fine piece but unfortunately not the greatest care was put into maintenance. The items you could buy from this are The Rose, The Thorns, and The Light."

"What are they?"

Pathways holds up three items. The scythe from the statue, the cloak from the statue, and a small ball of silver. They all give off strange feelings.

The Rose feels happy, and energetic but also clumsy and brittle.

The thorns feels angry, and powerful but also unfocused and lonely.

The light feels nothing. There is warmth and light. Nothing else.

Jaune isn't sure he likes The Light.

Over the course of what felt like the next few hours Jaune looked at many statues and many items. Sometimes he'd make a change, others he left alone. Eventually pathways stopped him.

"Well my beloved customer it's soon time for us to part ways. I hope you are satisfied with your purchases."

"Oh yeah I have to pay you! But I don't have any money on me..."

"Don't worry. You've already paid in full."

And with a whisper of the wind the world around them unraveled and Jaune Arc woke up to a world that had had its destinies rewritten.

There's a bit of kingdom hearts baken in the DNA of this idea.

So those choices Jaune was offered? Those are all rewriting peoples histories.

The three choices for Ruby were

Canon.

Raised by Raven.

Raised by Ironwood.

All have pros, all have cons, and all of them will massively change things. And that's true of all the statues Jaune went through (about 100).

Damn this was awesome! I can't wait to see what choices he made cuz he absolutely probably made a few bad ones.

Damn this was awesome! I can't wait to see what choices he made cuz he absolutely probably made a few bad ones.
I can tell you one of the possibilities.

Adam Taurus

The Brand

Timeline where Jacques ends up needing a big ass PR hit so he ends up adopting a faunus child. Ends up loving (or as close to living as he can) Adam SO much more than his flesh and blood kids. Because even though Adam doesn't have his scar his time in the mines has made him absolutely ruthless and amoral. He starts off with the "change things from within" mindset but very quickly falls right into the backstabbing and scheming and forgets his original goal.

Jaune Julius Arc was a fraud.

He came to be a hero like his ancestors. But at every turn it seemed like something would throw it in his face that he didn't belong here.

His sword didn't feel right, the armor didn't fit right, he had to lie just to get into the school.

But he wanted so desperately he be like his grandfather.

Jaune Miles Arc was a well known huntsmen. A hero for the sake of heroing. He helped just because he could.

Jaune wished he could be like his grandfather. But he wasn't. He tried. Brothers did he try.

But when his sisters would stop bullying it would be to save the victim.

He would do it to beat the bully.

There was something malicious about him and he didn't know what to do about it. So he ran away to beacon. They made his grandpa great, maybe they could make him good.

Except now here he was facing a Grimm with a fighting style that doesn't work, in armor that doesn't work, and without using his semblance.

It'd be fine if he died, one less stain in the world. But his team. Hunter Rose, wintergreen schnee, Cali Winchester. They were good people, the world would be worse off without them.

Jaune had a choice to make. He could die trying to be his grandpa. Or he could be himself.

He took a deep breath. Closed his blue eyes and let his aura fill him. His red streaked blonde hair waving in a breeze that nobody else felt.

And he let his semblance loose. Your Semblance is supposed to be a reflection of your soul.

His grandfather's made things better. It healed people, made them stronger, made them more.

Jaunes semblance is why he knew he was no good. It didn't help people like his grandfathers. The black and red cloud of energy that seeped out of his body did one thing and one thing only.

It destroyed. It carved away atoms, it damaged the soul. It was a horrifying power.

And it was very effective at killing.

As the Grimm surrounding him and his team could soon attest to.

Based off Durarara Shizuo and the sick Jaune headcannon what after being cured Jaune kept ending up in the hospital

So word of god was Jaune was superhuman pre-beacon and was able to use his semblance subconsciously like Forever Fall, and i realized old dumb idea we use 10% of our brains and the idea that people use 10% of their strength. While it's true that we don't use all our muscle mass for every little task, reality is 30-40% of their muscle strength under normal circumstances, while sports stars and olympic athletes do 80-90% of their potential for events.

That wouldn't apply to Jaune? Just like Shizuo?

also just for fun Cult leader wannabe king Jax from Vacuo trying to get the last Silver-Eyed Warrior and a Schnee by using his mind control semblance on 'eldritch gods can't break me" Jaune and then monologue exactly what he wants to do to the ladies...
