I am thinking of creating a thread of Waifu Wars, not actual wars of criticizing waifus or something, more like "present us your Waifu" in a realistic setting, what I mean for a realistic setting is to think really hard about the Waifu and think about actually living with them.
Example: I like Nero from Fate, I live her energy and cheerfulness but I can't imagine living life with someone like her. I feel I would die of a heart attack from the quantity of energy she radiates.
Waifu I could see myself living with will be the Choushin from Tenchi Muyo, apart from the Nigh-Omnipotent Goddess that could destroy 3rd Dimensional Universe by forming an avatar of an avatar inside of it, I think I could live with them I imagine? the major problem would be not ending up as a test subject for any kind of scientific thing that Washu creates.

Well, I don't have a Waifu, so I might not participate, but it would probably at least be interesting to look at from the outside, if only for the "Factional Character is your GF/BF" thing, at least.

Let's be real, the Choco Taco was always trash. Only reason people are getting upset at its passing is because they associate nostalgic memories with the treat. If everyone now saying they liked the Choco Taco actually bought the Choco Taco they would still be selling the Choco Taco.

Every time I see the name, I think to myself 'this needs to be the name of a kinky sex act'.

Then I start thinking of kinky sex acts and trying to find one that hasn't been named and would apply.

Then I get bored and find something slightly more productive to do with my time.

That is the entirety of my emotional experience with the Choco Taco. And it's probably more fulfilling than actually eating one.

    That's not a name it's an adjective.

And it applies to more sex acts than I can be bothered to count.

If someone’s uses the words “magic sky daddy” unironically they probably deserve to be punished for jerking it to waifu pics.

Aliens are probably real, no idea about Bigfoot. Parallel universes could go either way, or it could be weirder shit.

To my knowledge, no religion still in practice actually believes that. There could be some very obscure pagan faith somewhere, but it's very unlikely you've ever met a practitioner.

I mean... your own biochemistry* punishes you for that, so, umm... have fun with that.

*No joke, studies don't exactly show any desirable connections between regular use of pornography and positive mental health. The only controversy is how bad it is, not if it's bad. A little bit here and there (probably) isn't bad for you, but then, neither is a little bit of junk food. If you're using the word 'waifu' while jerking off, you're probably not in the 'little bit' category. More like a 'box of cookies a day' habit.

I don't know of anybody that dismisses the idea of extraterrestrial life. Like, at all, ever. Plenty who dismiss the idea of aliens coming to earth and shoving their thumbs up our buttholes, and for good reason, but none who reject the idea that aliens exist.

If anything, my problem is the conga-line of retards who believe the pyramids were made by extraterrestrials.

Thing is... we've already proven what Sasquatch is. So, at this point it's like claiming you saw Satan when in reality it was just a black goose.

First of all: 'universe' means everything. All matter, all energy, all space, all time. If parallel realities existed, they'd still be part of the universe. Do you not know what the sideways '8' means?

It means everything. Every conversation you've ever had with your parents. Every conversation you've never had with your parents. All existent expressions of reality.

Honestly, people who use the words "magic sky daddy" unironically deserve to be punished in general.

You’re being pedantic. You know what the term means, it’s very straightforward, and there isn’t a better term for alternate sets of everything we know or have reason to believe exists.

Also, there’s multiple sideways eights with different meanings.

Though if you wanted to be really pedantic, you'd go with 'parallel layers of reality'.

I’ve always considered alternate realities to be the same underlying universe, just where things happened differently. Not just alternate timelines - those are a subset - but our reality except with magic. You know, as opposed to things that were never our universe to begin with, like fictional settings.

Point is, you’re lumping a bunch of concepts under one term.

Because those concepts are under 'that one term'.

Not my fault if you want to keep claiming pink isn't a shade of red.

I mean, that’s actually a good analogy. You’re effectively claiming that, in terms of settings, we only need the word color. I’m saying that we’re lacking a distinction between hue and shade, and that parallel universe fits hue in a way no other term we generally use does.

Besides, it’s not like it isn’t accepted terminology at this point.

No. 'Universe' would be 'red'. Or, really, it's more like 'universe' is 'color' in this analogy. All possible expressions of light, all shades, even the ones we cannot see because our eyes only see a tiny percentage of of electromagnetic radiations.

Various shades, we can use such words as 'parallel reality' or whatnot. But universe is, by definition, everything.

At least, all real things. Fictitious universes that do not and cannot exist even in the sea of infinity... are, of course, imaginary, and thus not part of the universe.

... I suppose in the same sense as 'alternate facts'. In that they're not facts in the same way fictitious universes aren't universes.

Though I do suppose it also answers Daytripper 's complaining that people don't believe in alternate universes. It's because, by definition, they are fictional.

This may be the case for a given definition of ‘universe’, but the word ‘multiverse’ exists for a reason, and it’s to group together a collection of what you’d call ‘realities’ but is commonly referred to as ‘universes’.

I mean, it’s possible an alternate universe someone believes in actually does exist. ButI wouldn’t change terms to describe a hypothetical ‘real’ alternate universe, because it’s both purely speculative and about as likely to exist as one everyone acknowledges is fiction.

Nothing. Much like reversing time, any process that could even hypothetically breach the barrier between realities would require functionally infinite amounts of energy.

It would, in fact, be more energy efficient to just create a new reality. At least it's possible to assign a number to the minimum amount of power required to pull that off (which is approximately the entire energy output of the Big Bang).
