Somebody failed their knowledge nature check.
So based off what we've seen I find it unlikely that Necros is a fan of tabletop rpgs, what with how they act and their apparent past. Other then that though the next most likely idea seems to be that Necros has been through RaW verses before, this could be worth investigating.

we should try avoiding to provoke the Bee shaman, lets face it. we have made a lot of poor decisions lately.

  • we provoked the PRT
  • Made a enemy out of Dragon,
  • lost the phone that links Gandulf's civilian identity
  • Let Necros get possessed
  • that attacked the Transporter and have now alienated.
lets break the cycle by being diplomatic..... the Necros-way, seduction!

It's more like is Necros -- a collective of thousands of UBER powerful beings -- has more mental fortitude than a single Bee Shaman under the thrall of the queen bee spirit.

In normal vanilla Shadowrun I would say no, but since this a multicross with all sorts of weird made up shit, I will allow you to force your way into the hive mind to try and track down the shaman if you get a hold of the bee.
Which is why I created the write-in, that became pretty much unanimous, to catch the bee.

by inviting her into the lodge, Necros will have zero protection from Emma because she can go inside.

Magic is all about intent. We're not inviting the bee spirit inside, we have captured it and are going to interrogate it. This means our Lodge is most likely going to render the bee completely helpless as the Lodge itself keeps it trapped wherever we put it.

Plus the bee spirit is not Emma, Emma is the Shaman who has a link to the spirits but they do not count as her as far as magic is concerned.

The REAL question now, is how strong are the wards around her Lodge; and how skilled is Necros at breaking wards?

the lodge in a floating invisible fortress, while you might find out where Emma is............ she'll where out where Necros is as well and Coil had access to a lot of tinker hardware, what if he has a huge stockpile of tinker rockets?

there is honestly too much risk, could we just try communicating with Emma?

is it so hard too just give diplomacy a chance? if we can get Emma as a ally, the city is ours for the taking.

If it doesn't work we just add another write in to kill it.

It's more that Emma has a blind and irrational hatred towards Taylor, while Necros has no memories that mean we would even want to try reconciling with her but knows what the Bee Spirits will do if left unchecked, as well as what the Shaman controlling them has to do to advance the goal of the Queen and her likely fate.

Necros not remembering Emma also really doesn't help, in canon Taylor just brushing Emma off as inconsequential was enough to completely break Emma. Emma herself is only a half-step away from being absolutely insane and will not care about anything we say.

Maybe once we have her tied down and depowered we can give diplomancy(no, that is not a typo) a try but right now we'd be putting the city on the line to attempt saving someone we don't know and has shown immense hatred towards us.

You would be the person to vote diplomacy when diplomacy is the one thing that's NOT an option.

Go back over the thread and read everything that's been said about insect shamen. The second Emma accepted the deal with the queen, her fate was sealed. Her BEST hope was to be useful enough when the queen was finally summoned to not be turned into another drone herself.

Flabbyknight, please tell us if it's possible to actually save Emma, while eliminating the threat of the Insect Shaman and queen bee. Because unless you say otherwise, I'm going on the assumption she's beyond saving.
 
We are trying to prevent going to war with a Enemy that we know nothing about, without any necessary tools or spells to fight her or even disarm.

Think of attacking Emma as Napoleon invading Russia, He lost because he was ignorant of his enemy. if we can bluff Emma, we could buy time to fight another day on Necros's terms, not Emma's.

Emma has Coil's men, and weapons, rpgs, maybe even a hidden missile platform in the city.

But we're not ignorant about it. We know exactly what the Bee Spirits can do, probably better than Emma does. Hence why Necros freaked the hell out when she saw one, they're a danger to the point that nuking the city from orbit stops being a joke and becomes a serious consideration. Not plan A, but probably somewhere around plan E.

If Emma is still alive and has her soul/mind unshattered once the threat of the bee infestation has been dealt with, then we might consider diplomancy but until then there is no compromising with them.

Emma would agree to parlay just to listen to her own voice, she's always been a narcissist, she might say no.

but we have the power of Necros's song to distract her.

most want to panic and vote for kill it..... that is so bad because that is a concept, there is no plan to it. we would just be winging it because they can't think of a single one.

Taking the bee back to the lodge is a plan with a lot of risks, it risks our magical defenses and could reveal our position in the air.

but we could task the undersiders to find Coil's weapon depos and destroy them. it would keep Emma distracted on the ground because we would be using bait.

But what happens if we succeed with diplomacy with Emma? we would have time to betray her before she does.:D

Since Emma is now a magic user and is new to it. She'll agree thinking that she'll attack anyway.

But Necros never promised in her oath not to attack Emma while she's singing.

Emma would be geased into obeying the oath, we take the bee to escape and send the hollow man to find Emma and dispatch her.

Problem: Every minute we spend using 'diplomacy', the bee spirits are possessing more and more people. And with each person possessed Emma's powers grow.

We've already noted that the bees we encountered were weaker than we expected. And we slaughtered like 30 of them, it's likely her number of stronger spirits are few in number at this point. We NEED to deal with the situation before it grows out of control.

And we are geased to follow our promised because we are Fae, NOT because we are a magic user. Emma is NOT bound by her word.
Is it possible to save Emma, sure. Is it likely or easy, not really. At this point the only way to save Emma from herself would be to severe her magic completely ending her connection to the insect queen, which is possible through the processes known as burnout. However to induce burnout you pretty much have to put the subject through prolonged brutal torture using drugs and extensive surgery. The only other way is if Emma summon's her queen and then you kill it, this will destroy her magic completely, but also shatter her mind. With time you could probably nurse her mind back to health. Maybe there is less horrible method know by someone in your collective, but there is no grantee of that.
If Emma's truly as weak as the bees we encountered suggest, then the time she can summon the queen is still a ways off. This means to use the method of letting her summon the queen would involve willfully allowing her to kill hundreds/thousands of innocents.

The other method may be an option... but it'll be a case of we attack to kill; but if we win and she manages to survive, we capture her and attempt it.


And I reiterate my intention to use summon Mr. Nibbles if he's not there, and the situation's not resolved, the next time we're in our Soul-Space.
