Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

Well, I would say that the relationship between the siblings is complicated. On the one hand, his sisters say that they love him, but at the same time they are OK with his mother killing him. It would be interesting if they made up again, but very unlikely. It would be more likely if he was the only one of the four to survive the fall of the empire unscathed and manage his little kingdom well.

His sisters say they love home but also acknowledge that him being sent to the infantry is a death sentence with one of them saying they would drag him back if he tried to run. Considering he is an SI, I think he would be able to set aside any lingering familial affection in the pursuit of survival and I also think that him admitting to a willingness to outright kill them should they try to stop him would jolt them into a bit of self-reflection. Doesn't even need to be a blatant admittance just an implication of "returning the favor" since they seemingly do not care if he dies either.

At the end of the day, it is implied that they will put their career first before family. Which could potentially bite them in the ass hard when the Rebels manages to destroy the Death Star (twice) and their best shot of not only surviving but also keeping what they have is that one family member that they were willing to see die due to their mother simply being disappointed in him.

I wouldn't put it past any of his sisters to have plans to save him from the imperial army if it came to it. I doubt they'd just let him die.

Neither of the sisters we've seen so far have made any indication of that. Alvi doesn't have the political pull to do it and she never bothers to think about Las outside of "Oh, well, he's a dead man walking. That's sad but he probably shoudn't have been a disgrace if he wanted to avoid it". And Zyx may have the pull to protect him, except she's explicitly said she won't and that if he ran, she'd hunt him down herself.

So yes. They absolutely would let him die.

Sister: Las, Mom died in a horrible explosion!

Las, tring not to cheer: That's so... Sad.
Inner Clarkson externalizes
Oh No! Anyway... i kind of have to comfort my garrison commander since, yk someone blew up all her fucking friends & family and she is someone i give a shit about

Oh, not just maybe, it's very likely. But they'll have to deal with it themselves and hope that he's merciful.

Eh, his family dynamic seems to be like one of the Reincarnated Villanous Young Master stories, right?

His family probably does care, but in the sort of detached nobility sort of way, and through interacting with him post-SI will probably have his family's love win out in the end.

Well, that's how those reincarnated villain stories typically go, minus the romances in them, but this is Star Wars we're talking about.

Though I can't lie, I do like the drama that'd come about from the family and stuff.

Yea, Thrawn will have a positive opinion of our guy purely because of the Spreadsheet, looks like his plan to give someone else credit for thig failed spectacularly.

On the other hand, he may also be one of the few big names that would respect his desire to not be forced to deal with politics. If Las asked Thrawn to let remain an anonymous governor in charge of his little corner of space, Thrawn would probably grant it.

How much extrajudicial power does the mother have? She's not Tarkin himself, and I doubt she'd spend her capital with Tarkin to turn a successful governor into cannon fodder. Las is not just someone's son anymore, his system is contributing taxes and raw materials to the Empire.

so howlong till MC is made a Moff ? be funny is spreadsheets are enough to be promoted or is there a position for sub sector? or is that just the fringes /semi sector status? so is there anything between governor and moff?

About spread sheets, don't they have utility droids that do the same thing? Don't think it's some amazing new invention.

Okay, okay, that's gonna be hilarious when the Empire fractures.
Thrawn's got the Mighty Spreadsheets and a pretty good Program too.
He's gonna overpower the other Warlords when the time comes.

Okay, okay...
Sis is a menace.
But she's a menace that cares somewhat.

Interesting chapter!
Very interesting.
Excited to see our boy continue making it big!

Remember all we know of his mother comes from him. Nothing has shown she has actual power to have him removed. In fact his sister and his commander both looked at him as if he was paranoid when he ranted about his safety.

Would be funni when he discover that his mother is just powerless against him lmao. His smugness will shot up by 1000% at least when talking to her.

Although, it would be funny that later down the line, Las ends up having a better relationship with someone like Thrawn than his own family, because I do feel Thrawn would be pretty honest with Las and would give him actual protection, rather than just saying they love him but not doing anything to actually help.

What if the Moff dies. That Moff is indulging in a decadent lifestyle which is probably not good for their health.

If the MC stays quiet the infighting will miss him and he can watch the bodies flow downstream.

After the Deathstar explosion, Thrawn might throw politics out the window. Who does he know who will put his nose to the grind and whip a sectors into a stable self sustained economic center with happy citizens unlikely to rebel.

Honestly, the MC should be planning how to kill his mother and sisters in a way that has the least chance of being connected to him which is probably to make it look like some kind of accident
Considering that he rules the planet(even if it's some underdeveloped shithole) he most likely has the resources to do so

You know I can think of one reason for why the SI would stick around and stay with his system even when the Rebels win. The Rebels will need a scapegoat to act as the Face of the Empire. In Legends they did this by finding the meanest looking Moff and putting him on trial for the crimes of the Empire. The problem was that he was actually one of the most beloved Moffs in the Empire. Man didn't go around doing mustache twirling Evil! and was actually well liked. It also is very likely that the Rebels will try and kill him because he is innovating the Imperial War Machine.

Kind of loving the super TIE prototyping happening with the one sister. Even without the living chekov's gun of GA Thrawn being there it would still be a cool aside. Here's hoping Thrawn finds one small aspect of the spreadsheet program that we all would find to be absolutely standard, like the existence of simple shortcut commands, or just copy and pasting, to be so useful and obvious in retrospect that he simply has to meet the man who saw such a basic, everyday problem that even he had missed, and set out to fix it. Because you just know standard Imperial applications are the UI ergonomics equivalent of a cube shaped computer mouse made of tungsten.

So, Thrawn now is going to investigate the SI, and probably decide to use his system as a testing ground/production center for his prototype Tie-Fighters, and hell he may even have a say in their creation and design his own.

in before our mad lad of a governer accident has the computer industry star going on another side-production, something like our modern earths (powerful but fragile, while star wars seems to be weaker but durable as fuck considering how long those computers can work without maintence).

and then proceeds to combine the two computer aspects, so not only thanks to the ipad/iphone starwarized, but it's also improving the computer industry further considering miniaturization has to take into account of many things, including more space to put stuff in!

He'd be at the Unknown Regions at that point so he can't do much.

Ardus Kaine when he takes over as the Grand Moff of oversector outer and notices notices the comparatively great growth of MC's system in contrast to others while reviewing approaches to colonisation programs: this MF don't miss

Ardus Kaine when meeting MC: worry not mood kindred, i am merely making you a Moff of your sector now that most of our fucking managers got blown up on the death star, have fun
MC: *Panick*

I'll be honest, I was lowkey hoping Kaela would have just blasted Zyx's brains all over the floor when she caught her. That's a spy and potential saboteur running around trying to get into your R&D department, I'm genuinely surprised to good Commander didn't rip her head off considering her past record.
