Side question. What's the vegetation like in the Devil lands? Do they have a lot of plants or flowers?

Kinda? I'm pretty sure they're imported from Earth, as the Underworld doesn't have a real sun or moon. Artificial ones were created, however, and since theirs mention of large forests, I assume they function like Earth's.

This is supported by the existence of Dragon Apple trees. Due to environmental changes on Earth, the only place it could grow was in the Underworld. It's presumably an introduced species.

[X] the Flower bed would be made in a ring around the fountain with small cobblestone pathways allowing students to walk through it. the flowers would be devdied into four sections, two sections would have flowers matching to colors favored by the Sitri family and two would have the colors favored by the Gremory family; Marking both families' connection with school. charms promoting the growth of the flowers would be placed in each section.

Carnage any idea what flowers are resilient but look nice?
 
Would be nice to have a complete vote decided tomorrow... I fear this will take a while given that Alexander want us to present how it will look like.
 
I enjoy that we're all flailing around arguing about gardening. I support Silver's plan for gardening. I'm almost sure Gremory & Sitri have House Colors...
 
so what vote have we managed to agree on? since we discussed that sona will like a honest answer.

My preliminary Vote is a fusion of Smuthunter's + Silversun.

My own suggestion before I clearly vote is whether we should stunt with Smuthunter's plan. I don't get the rules for stunting well...
 
When I come back in a few minutes I'll see I can't stunt Smuthunter's write-in.

His write-in is a little risky but by stunting we can gain some extra dice, & write-in an additional condition to reduce Sona's backlash if we fail the dice roll. I was thinking using our perception+wits to gauge how much Sona was buying our argument, & apologize that we were a bit passionate on the subject if we failed the dice roll.

You pause for a moment taking in nervous tension evident in the three before you. Briefly you considered starting slow, beginning with the shrine & trying to avoid the issue of devils & the supernatural all together unless Sona brought it up. From the discomfort evident on their faces, though, you feared if you seemed slippery or deceptive in answering her, Sona would quickly dismiss anything else you had to say.

Giving them what you thought was your best disarming smile, you gave your pitch deciding to error on the side of honesty.

As you gave your impassioned plea, you tried to gauge their reaction. Relying on your perception & wit you decided to modify the speech on the fly if they didn't seem receptive to your arguments.

20 dice, 25 dice if we channel Compassion, with each success being counted twice, and halving Sona's Defense DV... poor poor Creatures of Darkness /snirk
 
on a side note, soon Rias is going to be the only one who has yet to see us in our "Championing the Righteous Cause Stance." heheheh, at least until Raiser turns up and we tear him apart verbally that is.

I don't understand the channeling Compassion mechanic. Do I need to modify the vote to add it? Are there any costs to it? I think it would apply in this case.

But...20 dice would be worth 10 success on average. Double to 20 successes with halving Sona's defense.

Still want to add it. I want to impress Sona :3. This will go doubly awesome since they seem to have a bad opinion of us.

In order: yes, and it costs a point of Willpower. In exchange you gain a number of extra dice equal to your Compassion's rating, so 5.

[ Common Sense]: both options can work, but it may be better to speak in a more serious manner.

I really want to wow Sona. I'm going to edit it in if there aren't objections.

How do we regain willpower?
 
Channelling Compassion, well it lets us add out dots in Compassion as dice for one will power, and we can use it as long as we can frame it so it fits with the virtue, in this case it fits because the whole reason we are doing this is to help others, Tomofuri directly, and Rias and the Devils by association, as well as we are doing something nice for the school mean they are all reasons that fit under Compassion, we could probably also.

Conviction, would be channelled for something that defends or advances our beliefs. Temperance would be if we were resisting giving into something, like trying to resist sleeping with someone for example, and Valour is basicly Khorne without the Berserker, battle, aggression, rage and such.

hope that explains this a little, probably didn't do a very good job of it but its late for me and I've a cracking headache /laugh
 
we can regain Willpower every time we stunt we can regain Willpower basicly.

and Yeah I can see how that would fit under common sense, Sona is the super proper and by the book one after all, taking the Businesslike tone while we do this would probably come across best.
 
Anyone have any comments on my Dice Stunt & Modification of Silversun's Flower proposal?
 
Gardening, specifically visual gardening.

Think about seasons, what flowers grow during which season. How would it look like during the swelling spring, on sweltering summer, while the leaves dry and fall, and on dead winter.

A little care garden would need to incorporate all four seasons in consideration, while a fully staffed garden can be of four different arrangement each year.

Annual, biannual, seasonal, monthly, evergreen, the specific times a plant might flower also needs to be considered, unless, again using a full staff to put chemical fertilizers that can promote flowering out of their season.

Average height also comes into factor, whether a front piece might grow over the center or back piece of an arrangement.

Lots and lots of things to consider, a real visual garden either needs very careful planning or a full staff and nursery to support it.
