Styling requests

There was no style by that name and there were like 3 different ones with green in the name. Which one do you mean?
I can't really remember the name, but I know it's not any of the styles that are currently up. It was primarily black with green highlights for the header and alerts, thought it had Mobile somewhere in the title

Are you thinking of Flexile? Cause that doesn't exist for XF2, someone would have to remake it from scratch.

I'm curious if we can see more precise viewer numbers then just the 8K and or 2M and such.

In the thread mark box can the chapters be moved to the top and all the other stuff at the bottom?

In Blackened Green, the background colour of un-revealed inline spoilers (Like this) is almost indistinguishable from the background of the post, making it very hard to notice it's there. Inline spoilers aren't supposed to be invisitext; they're supposed to be obvious in their presence but hide their content unless you choose to view them.

Blackened purple as well.

Would really like if they were just solid black or something, and not single-shade-off-from-background-gray.

The color of the in-line spoiler isn't tied to the theme, it's the same on all of them. If it was actual black it would be invisible on Blackened High Contrast.

There's no reason it has to be the same on all themes. Or if it does, make it pure black but with a white outline or something.

I'm not sure if this is just me, but the width of the forum keeps reverting to wide randomly, and often like 2-3 times every half hour.

Apologies if it was already asked/suggested/mentioned somewhere else. This is my second post in the site, so I'm still getting a bearing of what goes where.

But regarding styles.

I intend to write a story that makes heavy use of colored text. That story was originally posted in a site that had a darker "default" xenforo setting.

So for example, text written in this color was not has hard to read. While text written in DARK COLORS were immediately apparent as "being out of place", since the default letters were colored white.

So, what is the best way to signal readers that a darker xenforo style might make for a better reader experience?
-Should I simply write it in a sticky post, and indicate they should change the settings at the bottom of the screen?
-Is there a "link" I can insert into text that could be more conveniently clicked, that would change the style?
-Is there a way to program a thread so that any user that enters it is automatically "switched" into another xenforo style?

I honestly do not understand much about these systems. So, although I don't want to inconvenience readers or "force" a change of their personal settings, I still want to know if these kinds of things are a part of the site's system.

Thank you for your time.

I'm using an addon called "Dark Reader" which is intended to make sites more readable in a dark theme.

Here's how the quoted text looks on my screen:

A link to change a user's theme is not something you can post. That's something solely under the control of the user.

Likewise, there is no way to switch a thread's theming.

Basically, forcibly changing a user's theme is very bad form. In some cases, a different theme can be physically painful. I once had a migraine where light themes were physically painful to look at, so had to switch a lot of my browsing to dark modes for a while (though QQ is one of the few places I use a dark theme).

One question I would ask is whether the colored text is intended to be inline, or if it's something that's likely to be presented in tables or some such. If it goes in tables, it is possible to program the background color of table cells such that you end up with a proper contrast, unlike the usual post area which you have no control over. (There is no way to set a text background color with BBCode.)

With all that said, I'd recommend you advise readers about the potential issues. I'd also look into color-blind-safe color schemes, as those tend to have less issues with different backgrounds than more 'standard' colors. It may be you can get around the problem by just a better choice of colors.

Being able to say 'this text should be colour X on dark themes and colour Y on light themes' would be a useful feature. Out of scope for this thread, though.
