The Skittering Chaos (Worm/Hazbin Hotel)

Trying to flesh out why they would unperson Taylor and I would love your feedback on this and it's plausibility.

But onto the unpersoning I can very easily see them trying to unperson Taylor with a new administration taking over. I know that the PRT/Protectorate didn't particularly like her. She was a competent comrade at best but generally didn't care for her beyond her toeing the party lines and selling merch. Considering that the PRT/Protectorate now Wardens decided that they would unperson her suggests that much and that where Taylor may have started viewing them favourably, at least individually, they on the other hand did not care for her at all. It's a major betrayal of everything she fought for to do this but they decided to unperson her and return to the status quo and are just sitting around letting villains and things fall to shit because they are too scared to act.

Skitter/Weaver was always a force of change that the PRT/Protectorate had to try to contain from the very start. Her arrival to the scene heralded a massive shift in power on her first night and things continued to change as she wouldn't submit until she finally was mind whammied by Dinah. Even then, she was only delayed from making changes as she was training her wards team into the ground so that they could be the ones to help save the world. Thing about forces of change, is that the status quo doesn't like them. The Wardens are attempting to go back to the status quo that Skitter up ended and thus don't want her as an example for the people to rally behind to make things better. They want to stay with the propaganda that Cauldron fed them from the very start that only parahumans being restrained by the law can make anything close to positive change. While Skitter was a parahuman she was also an inspirational force in the world where ever she went. She embodies the idea that to change things for the better, is the will of a single man.

Granted this is more of a thought experiment for why they unpersoned Taylor and would enforce the unpersoning of her. I'm open to suggestions as to why in universe they decided to unperson her.

I think that's a lot better than the reason I always assumed which can be boiled down to "don't let people panic."

In a similar vein to the PRT not publicizing a lot of master powers they don't want to admit that the person who saved the world did so by violating the "sanctity" of an impossible number of capes, or admit that they have no idea where she is or if someone else could replicate the feat. Plus, capes in general tend to deal with their problems through either violence or repression, and violence never worked against Skitter.

So they just insist that Khepri never happened and hope the populace don't notice the glaring holes in their story, a task made easier by the fact that society is still rebuilding. But we can already see the holes forming because people know who Taylor Hebert was, and unlike so many others who got statues she's just never mentioned by anyone.

Plus, as mentioned in the other thread, it goes directly against the idea of everyone helped each other out and cooperated to save the day. For those that question, perhaps if they dig deep enough they find the cover story, where Khepri started "sabotaging" things like killing the irregulars and such before trying to master everyone to take power before she was put down? Thus finding what they think is their answer, they dislike her more.

Well I think a pretty large chunk of it is just that khepri was fucking traumatizing.

Absolutely necessary it had been, but kind and gentle it was most certainly not.

The unpersoning didn't start out as anything malicious, but just as people who were actively involved in Gold Morning really not wanting to think about the trauma involved in khepri's mind control.

from there it probably warped into something more malicious amongst many in the wardens, particularly among those who had no real relation or attachment to weaver.

So basically the only people who would reasonably have misgiving's about it are Dragon, Defiant and GU.

But Defiant is terrible with the social and not good with politics, Dragon is outvoted and busy with like a thousand things at once at any given point in time. and GU is busy learning how to be a proper human instead of a weird fairy child during the time where it morphed from a defensive mechanism against sanity shredding levels of trauma into something actively malicious.

Thus the justifications of the above statements. Of course it isn't even policy yet as the Wardens are only just getting started.

This was a combination of trying to restore the status quo and trauma. It's not the first time when people decide to erase someone of history, is possible on one generation or two the name Khepri will probably be forgotten and reduce to myth.

While the Wardens attitude to look the other war are probably because they are in damage control, after all global society and infrastructure collapse and provoking villains is one thing they don't need right now, not when they don't finish the evacuation yet and establish a stable foothold in Gimel.

So yeah is not fair what they done with Taylor but fear make people do some pretty irrational thing. Heck preserving/restoring the status quo is either secondary or a excuse to hide they fear from her, at this point the Undersiders may be the only group of Parahumans that want remember her.

Fortunately they're little bubble of delusions is gonna be popped pretty brutally in this fic.

Besides who cares if taylor didn't get some lame wardens statue!

Once taylor is an overlord she can commission a statue of herself! Made of solid fucking gold!

It's not even about actually wanting a statue (Taylor doesn't strike me as the type to do that sort of thing), it's about giving a middle finger to the warden's when they inevitably die and wind up in hell.

Because what you build in life is finite...

But death can last forever.

The statue isn't even her idea. It's Skidmark's, because he feels she needs better branding.

Imagine if you will some kind of spell that if you came from the Mega City you end up in a specific part of hell, and the first thing you see upon waking up is a Gigantic statue of Pimperor Skitter Overlord of the red light district.

God help anyone who actually hurt or threatened anyone she liked.

You'll make that canon right? They'll get the megacity->skitter territory magic pipeline set up in time for Marche, so that the crazy skin coat wanting bitch ends up right in front of Pimpress skitter right?

Taylor isn't normally one for pettiness or vengeance, but after everything she's been through she has earned the right to this one bit of petty dickery.

Also I kind of just want her to relearn selfishness and self worth a bit while she's down in hell.

What better place to learn to be a bit more self centered than the origin point of greed, lust, and gluttony?

It was mostly just a joke and I don't think Taylor would do it herself. Others however? Maybe.

Awwwwwwwww....

Will the Kult of khepri end up reversing her unpersoning at least?

also you know marche still ending up getting to spend eternity with the Pimpress whose friends she tried to kill and wear and said pimpress being aware of that fact.

I need this my dude, I hate marche so much.

She's like Jack Slash but with way less charisma and twice the plot armor.

Honestly I don't even remember who Marche is and I don't feel anything about her. By the time canon rolls around though Taylor will know who she is and will not be happy.

As for reversing the unpersoning? They will try, and the reason for their oppressed state and secrecy is because they tried to reverse it and were shut down hard by outside interest groups.

Yes but Now they have demonic empowerment and the knowledge of their goddess on their side.

Spread the name the same way taylor did.

Be unbending and help people that no one else will.

they have the power of both Khepri and Grimdark webnovels on their side.

They cannot fail.

THE LIES OF THE WARDENS WILL BE REVEALED THE TRUTH OF THE SAVIOUR UNVEILED!

HUMANITY IS SO VERY SMALL IN THE END.

March was a rogue turned sociopath mercenary, she become really messed up after she was resurrected, unsurprisingly Cauldron has a hand in it. Seriously almost half of the problems of Earth Bet were made by Cauldron.

Hookers! Blackjack and Hookers! That's the future! There's absolutely no way in Hell Taylor being a pimp and proprietor- a pimprietor, if you will- could go wrong!
So steal Lung's schtick? That is what he seems to mostly do in the Bay, Ruby Dreams Casino and the Farm (well that and getting continually Worfed by Taylor).

Why do I get a feeling Angelus will be calling back in the next couple days because valentine is questioning him regarding the fact that none of those corpses have healed up and revived. . . . .they're dead Jim, they're dead.

They are not dead.

Only angel weapons kill demons permanently.

I think that was the idea behind the statement. He's suggesting that Taylor permakills demons. Which is kinda silly.

I don't even think the Overlords permakill without angel weapons.

Fuck even lucifer himself can't permakill without angelic weapons.

Those were invented for the purposes of purging demons.

The souls is supposed to be immortal and all.. then again god seems to be a massive dick in Hazbin anyway...

I've kind of been considering the idea that Angelic Weapons purge the soul of it's sins, automatically "redeeming" them (and stripping any personality as a byproduct) and sending them to heaven.

Their souls are confimed to be ripped to shreds and the residue is what creates all the living and semi living objects in hell.

whoever is killed by an angel weapon is just straight fucking annihilated.

Besides if it erased their personality then they're just as permanently dead as if they just blinked out of existence.

VisV is right in that it basically acts like soap does to grease and just causes a demon to no longer stay coherent and simply starts falling apart and disintegrating and so far there is no way to bring them back.

Edit: Also from some of the talk I've heard about this kind of stuff this energy may still be useful in doing things such as enchantment or creating new life from the bits of old life.

hmm... I wonder...

You do remember that these people are in hell, right? With the exception of those born here and choose not to act like everyone else (Charlie), they have quite literally spent their lives in a manner that got them a one way ticket to a bunch of Greek homos at best and being buried an eternal frozen nightmare lake at the worst. Honestly, complete soul destruction is a relief after enough time.

One: there is literally nothing you can do to justify infinite punishment.

Two: Hell isn't even really that bad in Hazbin Hotel, No worse than the shittier places on earth anyway.

Pentagram city is basically just Detrongkok* on a bad day, every day.

*The fusion of Detroit, Bangkok and any other seedy crime riddled city you can name.

There's rather a lot of things you can do to justify infinite punishment, we do have sentences for life and the death penalty after all, and that's just human's rules. And when you include your second point, that honestly makes the punishment much less severe.

Life imprisonment, or death sentences are no where near infinite punishment. In fact they are infinitely less than that.
