While that was kinda jank, I have to say that bit where he had Armstrong slowly walk towards the boss after killing almost all the ground mooks was cool and cinematic as hell.

 

Bloodstained question: is it worth my time to grind out the last… three(?) alchemical bounty shards on a fresh Nightmare play through or should I come back when I have some more luck? I’ve spent a good chunk of time grinding the zalgen before the train station area after getting to that part of the garden.

Melty Blood Type Lumina is getting new DLC, partly as part of a Tuskihime/FGO crossover. So Arcueid is going to FGO as a Moon Cancer and Mash is coming to Melty Blood and that's really cool. What's not cool is fucking Neco-Arc coming back to Melty. Internet Meme Magic has brought the joke character back and I really kind of hate it. Most of the people memeing about Neco-Arc don't even fucking play Melty Blood, have never played Melty Blood. It's a waste of a character slot. As far as the next DLC drop around December, I wouldn't mind another Fate character. Maybe one of the masters. Shirou would be cool so we can have Shiki v. Shirou in an official media.

Surprised they went back to Resident Evil instead of Stranger Things again. If anything, Vecna has been the perfect Dead By Daylight killer this season.

It was. Probably don't help that dying the first time threw me off my game and I've never really fought ghosts before.

 

So there are 2 easy ways to deal with them.

One is to knock back their fireball with a melee attack/punch, if it connects with them it will be a one shot.

The other is to shoot them with arrows, should only be 3 fully charged bow shots to take it out.

 

This is pretty neat.

 

Is Doki Doki Literature Club worth playing? PlayStation Store has it on sale for $11-12.

 

I heard a lot of hype on it. Something to do with the character aware they're a videogame character so they reacted in response to that.

 

Eh, it's really only good for people who like deep diving for lore. Otherwise it's just rather generic horror and messed up themes for a game.

Personally I would play the free version and buy the pay version if you like it.

 

It was fun with some interesting meta-narrative elements to it. The type of game you can pretty much finish in an afternoon without much issue.

 

If you like VN's and psychological horror, yeah, it's great. Personally I think the best time to play it was before everyone and their grandmother knew the twist. I'm not the type of person who usually thinks spoilers ruins a story but psych horror, especially this type of psych horror, is best when you don't know anything.

 

Its kind of like watching Home Alone. You know Kevin will beat the burglars ahead of time, the real fun is in watching it all play out.

I've heard stuff about the plot, but only a vague outline. I'm still pretty blind going in.

 

The original (free) PC version of DDLC is probably the better option. Some alterations had to be made for consoles that dampen some of the more interesting aspects of the original.

Spoiler: From what I've heard (actual spoilers)

There's some sort of virtual desktop that is used for the "meta" aspects, while with the original it used your actual PC's file system. So now it's more like a game inside a game, instead of just being a game on your actual PC. Of course this is second-hand, I've never played the paid edition.

And I've also heard there wasn't really that much additional content to be worth buying as someone who played the original, which is why I didn't pick it up in the first place, though that probably doesn't matter as much if it's your first time playing.

 

Don't forget the mods! The glorious mods!

The original free version is fully mod supported while DDLC Plus got none.

The game engine of the paid version just make it hard and impposible for modders to fiddle with it.

 

RTS hype is back baby.

 

I'll believe it when I see it. Far too many RTS nowadays have come out with fancy ad campaigns and large hype only to wither and die within a few months of release.

 

I think it's because Netflix pulled most of their support from DbD, only the Demogorgon remains from the Stranger things crossover when they had a full map and two survivors as well.

Behavior just might not want to work with Netflix again.

Giantgrantgames did a great video on the state of RTS games in recent times, and ultimately it comes down to the fact that RTS as a genre is one where getting the fundamentals down matters far more than any other. Unit pathing and responsiveness and so on are incredibly important, but most RTS these days focus more on having a flashy gimmick that can’t save a braindead game.

I can't believe they hid the third act behind the credits. That would have been a hell of a twist if I didn't know there were three acts. It was a great idea on their part.

 

Elden ring question: I've almost finished all the content in Liurnia and now I want to move on to Caelid (which I hadn't bothered with before). I'm around level 60 and my main weapon is +14. Am I too over leveled for Caelid? If that's the case, would switching to the +8 Halberd I got from an invader NPC even the difficulty out? My strength is 30 and dexterity 17 btw.
