Yep. The Omega Effect is more like a weaponised plot device ray. For instance, when Darkseid used it on Batman during Final Crisis, it technically didn't kill him, it just sent him bouncing through time. Because Batman's plot armour is just that good.

The anti life doesn't have infinite reach out into space or else Darkseid would infect the universe without opening boom tubes and invading planets individually. Is it piercing and or permeating the thaumasphere and reaching into the dream, hell, or the underworld? Seems like an orbital strike of white light or perhaps basting the entire collective unconscious with it could mostly resolve things from outside of the enemy's reach or attention.
