• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

XF2 transition feedback

@alethiophile

Fieldset needs to not have the word "Fieldset:" above the box if there is no title. We can title it "Fieldset:" if we want, there's no benefit to making it say "Fieldset:" every time anyways. Let us have naked boxes.

I want my xtables back, with my ability to change the background color, line width, line color, colspans and rowspans. They're useful for making nice formatting and ensuring images and text go in nice places. Table properties and cell properties has been removed from the default editor, and lobotomized in TinyMCE.

LaTeX:
\[\text{LaTeX doesn't need its own box. Just place the result inline as if it were normal text. We can make boxes around it if we want that behavior. Don't force it to have one, cutting the options for no reason. Also it scrolls off the screen and out of its own box, so you haven't implemented that properly either.}\]

Superscript and subscript no longer changes the size of the font. I personally see this as an improvement (we can still change the size if we want), but it probably isn't intended behavior.

The support for FontAwesome characters has expanded since I last checked, which makes me happy for Pokemon and for Magic: The Gathering ➊🅧 and other fun things. Much thanks. There's still some errors in the way it's set up. Turn this sun and moon solid.  When that happens, you will have implemented FontAwesome correctly.

Can I just say I love how the mobile version has the thread banners above the reply boxes now.

Good for the phone users to also have the constant reminder that the desktop users had.

And good work on getting themes and styles up and running. That default look makes me question the sanity of the people that made the software.

@alethiophile
Also AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH How did I get here?

Something should be done about this. I could have covered the entire screen instead of making a diagonal line. It needs to shove my text down and make my comment taller to stop that.

I am not getting any alerts on half the threads im following did something change about that?

Well, congrats on killing QQ for good.

*Sighs*

I guess I'll hang out at A03 from now on. ... At least their text is still readable.

My main issue so far is the lack an ability to adjust the margins in preferences, the toggle next to the style chooser at the bottom helps but I keep having manually toggle the margins as the site isn't remembering how I set it.

So I am not sure how to exactly phrase this, but there is a slight issue when jumping to posts - particularly when going to a thread that has new posts. The jump to point is just a little too far down. It puts the post at the top of the screen, but that puts it behind the floating top bar. At least it doesn on Firefox browsers. Unsure if this is the same for other browsers.

And a small nitpick, but when editting a post the text box seems to default to an annoyingly small size. We have the ability to grab and drag to increase the size, so it isn't a huge issue, but it is a slight annoyance

Overall however, this has been mostly amazing work. And seeing the site move from horendously ugly to going beyond functional into looking good over the course of like 40-ish hours has been really cool.

Please post any issues you come across, as well as general feedback on the new site, in this thread.
You should put the one who suggested to make QQ into SB 2.0 in hell.

The writing tools seems needlessly complicated and faulty. The bold option along with others doesn't work.

Before the pages was like this 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6..... We always had 6 pages to choose from. But now it's 1,....,525. So instead of quickly going from one page to another now it is slow and complicated.

For some reason, when I receive emails, I no longer see any text from the post I am being informed about.

Given how the notifications look, I'm actually reminded more of Sufficient Velocity…

Something needs to be done about the amount of information each alert provides, especially when there are multiple alerts. It simply takes up too much space.

It looks like the emails changed again today... to be darker, lower contrast, and harder to read. The theme they were using right after transition was MUCH more readable, though it was still annoyingly low contrast compared to the XF1 ones. Is there a way to select what theme you want for emails? I vastly preferred the "no coloring, just plain text in the body" style because it was more adaptive to light/dark mode changes on my system and more readable with default fonts.

QQ used to have the best notification emails of all the story sites I follow, now it's got less info than even FF.net or AO3 (who both at least tell you what chapter you'll be clicking to), as well as being less readable. :-(

I just noticed that trying to highlight text too close to the top of the screen causes it to scroll upwards for some reason. I tested it on the bottom and nothing. It can be avoided if you scroll up a bit, so the text you want to highlight is a bit lower down on the screen.

In Preferences there is a checkbox that says "Show tags in alerts" if you uncheck that it becomes much more manageable.

Basic imgur link doesn't work. Whether done manually with img tag, or through the link img button.

I have noticed on mobile that I can scroll way to the right into black space. Maybe I missed a setting?

I've not gotten any alerts since I first opened the site post transition, and I know there are alerts since multiple threads I'm watching have updated, but when I tap the alerts button there's nothing new
