• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

XF2 transition feedback

With the changeover, would it be possible to add filter tags to the nsfw section for smut?

Eg, "no smut", "low smut", "infreq smut" "freq smut" "mostly smut".

Or heck, just three filters. "story focus" "story with smut" "smut focus"

Or other filters that could be used in conjunction with each other perhaps?

The main idea however is that it should be clear enough how much of the story would be detected as porn, how much would be questionable content but still sfw and how much is not smut at all.

If I wanted to read a story, I can immediately tell that although it has smut, I can stay for the plot. Or alternatively, that I won't be doing much skipping ahead to read something steamy.

Unlike SB, QQ neither requires nor creates the tags. You want a specific tag? Type it in the tag box on your thread, but don't expect anyone else to use it if they don't feel like it.

I suspect but am not sure this is related to XF2, but...

I can't search for my own posts in a thread anymore. I know how to find ALL my posts from my profile, but sometimes I want to look for a specific post I made in a specific thread, but I can't search my own account anymore. Is there a way around this? Am I missing something?

It's a known bug, that's been happening for a couple months now. It appears to concern specific userhandles (a great many of them at this point), with little rhyme or reason otherwise.

Are you going to the thread and searching for by-user there? Because that's been working fine over here.

So you know, it looks like it is only the autocomplete that is broken for some usernames. If you manually type it in and search, it still functions as desired.

On another XF2 forum which I use regularly, there's a similar breakage for the names of users who lock their profiles ("private" / can't be viewed by randos).

Is that related to this autocomplete issue?

I am once again asking that from the watched threads list, when you click a forum a watched threads is in, it takes you to that forum (the previous behavior) rather than filtering your watched threads to that forum (the current behavior).
At least as an option, please. You can already filter by forum using the filter button.

I'm not sure if it counts as a bug, but I still ran into something that made me tilt my head in confusion, regarding the ignore feature. I was going through a thread, when at the bottom of the page, I noticed the "Show Ignored Content" button appeared at the bottom of the page. This made me do a double take, because I didn't have anyone on ignore at the time, and when I clicked the button and looked over the posts on the page, I didn't notice any differences.

It turns out, what happened is, I didn't have any users on ignore, but I forgot that I did have a single thread on ignore, and that thread popped up in the Similar Threads box at the bottom of the page, and that was what triggered the "Show Ignored Content" message. It's kind of weird that something like that is enough to count as ignored content in a thread, as opposed to just a forum or subforum page or the like.

I've been having a recurring issue with the page width resetting. It's not every time I go to a new page, but it's really frequent and it's getting on my last nerve. I've done some looking and people have been complaining about this since the shift over and there doesn't seem to be any response. Can we get a toggle to set what our default page width is in our profile so it's not constantly defaulting to the worst option? Or hell, how many people actually use the wide option at all? Its nearly painful to read to me and I don't even get why it would be an option.

I've been having this issue as well. I also have the normal Writing section collapsed, and when this happens that also goes back into the unfurled state. It's moderately annoying but easy to fix. I have a larger monitor and screen resolution, so full width is not fun to read on.

I remember having this issue a lot back during the early days of the XF2 transition, and I think it may have happened every time the forum team is making updates to the styles and whatnot, though I can't prove that. After things settled down and were stable I didn't have it for months, but I've seen it a lot in the last week or so. If updates are indeed being made lately that would explain why it's suddenly resurfaced.
