As a first-timer with no real idea of what to specialize in, I just made Shivers my signature skill because (as I understood it at the time) it's the precog skill. Hoping it'll pay off later, but I have no clue.

Ah. You got it mixed up with Inland Empire which is the skill that cognitively recognizes supernatural.

Shivers is physically recognizing the supernatural, and is mostly fluff, from my understanding.

It doesn't offer much technical use, but gives a cooler story experience.
