Honestly I don't really mind the Twilight options, I just wish we weren't rushing into them first thing. I think it would have been to wait till we have a better feel of the place and people.

We only have 3 action points remaining and we don't know how long is Twilight quest chain. We can't afford investigating this place in detail unless people are willing to delay fulfilling Axe deal, which does not seems to be the case.

As for learning specifics of how this place works then Exploration and Twilight action appears to be exactly what's needed to do it. Velvet would not experiment on Twilight blindly so I would expect conducting some tests first. Perhaps joint science project with Twilight to learn nature of this place. I look forward to telling Twilight that she lives in the Matrix. Assuming that it comes to it of course.

Having said all that, can you imagine Dream!Sparkle's hypothetical point of view in such a scenario? Your professor abruptly acts completely different for four days and somehow has magic (???!!!????!!!!!!) then suddenly she returns to her old self and gets all kinds of confused when you bring it up again, to the point you actually have to wonder if ghosts and possessions exist, at which point two months later Velvet Covers gets confused for why her student is brandishing a lower case T.

The issue is twofold here. On one hand, we need the DoA to be our friend right now at all costs. If we can't finish the Foggy Mirror in the next 3 actions, we don't have a chance at trying again until turn 23, which puts the Expedition Machine far behind schedule. On the other hand, we don't know if we'll be able to come here again after finishing the DoA's quest here, so the worst case scenario is to assume we can't and that whatever extras we don't manage now are lost.

I went into this only expecting the DoA's friendship, so if that's all we get out of this trip, then I'm fine with everything else being a dead end.

That's fair. It's also why I voted for the Internet first, because I thought it would unlock further options. But now that the Dream!Sparkle path was revealed so early, it's sinking AP for something we don't even know if we really want or need.

EDIT: went back and counted each vote but the automatic tally was correct. One quester apparently removed their Internet vote (24 - 24) and then Spacemurica tilted it a single vote in favor (24 - 25).

For DoA not to disappear at turn 22 we need Frangiclave to remove her chains, which is not the same as her friendship task. Frangiclave may even help us enter Foggy Mirror on our own. Or there may be other entrances/exits. We can search for them via exploration, and perhaps with the help of Twilight detector. It is much more prospective direction than internet. Searching for alt exits that can allow for Twilight to leave may even be part of her quest line.

Honestly, I don't think this really is or should be about "Getting a new Twilight!".


It's just that it's... narratively economical?

Like, sure interacting with any of the equivalents would be nice, but the only two here that we can't talk to when were done is Twilight and Celestia.

So it makes sense to invest in them as to not miss out.
Sure, they could be the dead ends. So what? We quite literally do not have any way to know which path is yet, and already quite a few of you are using the kind of language that always pops up.

So do first consider now, what do you want to see?

We probably should and are so far prioritising Axe's stuff, but everything else has the same chance of helping so just settle on what flavour you want and we'll eat the Russian bullet later.

With the use of rerolls Covers had either bad rolls or the difficulty was high. It really seems to be meant to take serveral turns instead of this brute force approach... So this votes!
