General chat thread

So, today decided to delete like 99.9% of the porn on my HD. 4~5 TB of data has been removed. Clips and folders carefully curated for over a decade, thousands if not tens of thousands of doujins, CG galleries, hundreds if not thousands of anime episodes, all gone now.

A few folders survived, mostly those that are mostly character fanart.

So... the demon really did get you.

I'll get the holy water...

Is this because of a life change, or did you simply realize that virtually everything in that porn-based mass of information was stored elsewhere on the internet more securely, and thus it was simply more worth it to clean out your hard drive?

Make sure it's in a spray bottle and mixed with garlic, that way it can protect you from demons, vampires, and cats all in one go.

I suddenly had this intrusive thought today at work that I should delete all of my porn. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made, as then I realized I was just hoarding all of that porn with no earthly means to actually explore even a fraction of it in a timely manner.

Some of it was some rare stuff that's not easily available today, like works by artists who had pulled all of their stuff from the web years ago.

Well, the only real thing is that it would have been a courtesy to ensure that said rarer stuff was available somewhere. But otherwise, yeah, it's just junk you won't look at.

I don't know for sure, but at least most of those would be done because their works suddenly became licensed and officially available to purchase. Don't want to get into legalities / morality of sharing smut for free that the artist could be making money from.

Like, I could've uploaded 177013, but it's now a licensed work and one could just buy it. I have a paperback copy myself, so it seems it would've been kinda a dick move to upload it.

"For sale" counts as available. I meant specifically the stuff that was deleted and never reposted, or was once for sale but now isn't. That's what deserves preserving.

But in almost 5 terabytes of stuff, I can't imagine that would be easy to parse out anyway.

I like making coffee like you would tea. I have a tea pot with a section with a wire mesh for steeping with tea leafs, and often I will just put coarsely ground coffee in there and steep it for awhile like tea. and pore it out similarly.

How dare you, sir and/or madam. That is an affront to my senses.

It's spelled pour.

The coffee thing sounds fine, but then I don't drink any coffee anyway.

How poor of me to spell pour as pore.
I assume coffee would be terrible for the pores if poured upon the skin?
It would at least be painful.

Shit.

Is Mars Inc okay? Because I don't think I can quit Snickers...
My understanding is that the conditions under which chocolate ingredients (mainly cocoa beans) are harvested are so awful yet so entrenched in the business structure that anyone who has ever eaten commercially-produced chocolate is supporting slavery (with extra steps).

Damn.

I have come to the conclusion that I don't think I can properly take criticism. Maybe it's either low self esteem or RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria)?

How many hours did that take you? I have a SSDs with a LOT of manga/anime

Added in all my art books that I downloaded there, decided to delete them from it to save on space….took 2 hours to delete nearly 150 GB worth, kinda annoying

I have resolved to try and improve myself again

First step. Education. How do I make myself absorb a bunch of history books quick?

It's Treble. 80% of what he posts consists of attempts to piss other people off. If anyone was going to claim to be willing to overlook the shit Nestle pulls because they just like their products that much, it would be him.
Get off the internet. Nestle is one of the biggest food companies in the world.

Point is, nobody cares. Nobody except perpetually online people in social media sites.

I'm just saying the quiet part out loud.
Not really. The people that do care and are active are the ones reporting on the wrongs done by the company and who are involved in the class-action lawsuits that do at least occasionally make a difference in the lives of people and the behavior of big companies.

You aren't saying the quiet part out loud so much as being a dismissive jerk about an issue that this particular web space is not normally structured around discussing anyway.

At any rate, this isn't something I want to debate. I just wanted to talk about coffee preferences among Americans.

You aren't going to be avoiding all of these.

*Checks*

Not only am I avoiding all of them, I'm doing so entirely by accident. Not a single one of those is a brand I partake in. With possible exception to kit kats. Apparently Nestle owns that, but only when not in the USA?

Oh well, been years since I last had a kit kat anyway. I don't know if they changed the recipe, or my tastes have changed with age, but they just don't taste as good as my childhood seems to think they did.

Same with hostess.

This is funny, I started 100% agreeing with you and went through the list(including checking elsewhere since different language here) just to prove how many things would have to be avoided thus how few people would even bother to try. Then realized within the past years I bought all of two products from the list both because they were on sale and only one of those for me.

This is why it is important to check assumptions, turns out it is really easy to avoid Nestle's products huh.
