On Worldbuilding: The History of the Faunus and Mankind New
So, after the Moonshatter, the Faunus would most likely have had the physical and sensory advantages over humans. So Faunus empires rising that enslaved humanity would be natural. But over time, the canonical issue of Faunus tribes mixing would arise. To quote:

As far as everyone's aware, Faunus have been around as long as mankind, if not a little longer. History gets a little fuzzy past a certain point, but we do know that their kind and ours are completely compatible, from a... (slight stuttering) a biological standpoint. Take two wolf Faunus, and you'll get a little wolf cub kiddo. A wolf Faunus and a human also typically means that your little bundle of joy's teething days could get a little dicey. But if you take a wolf Faunus and a bull Faunus, for example, it's a complete roll of the dice. For all you know you could be cleaning up your son's... shedded snake skin. (shudders)

This would make it hard to interbreed between Faunus tribes without a lot of confusion over paternity, which has caused civil wars before. As a result, the various Faunus tribes became more insular and divided against eachother, and stagnated in technology due to their physical abilities. As a result, humans had to be more united than Faunus and focused more on developing technology, and this helped contribute to humanity eventually rising and becoming dominant over the Faunus.

I feel this adds a lot more depth to the world, gives White Fang some rallying points (even if they are, like all calls to ethnonationalism, bullshit), and gives a lot more agency to the Faunus beyond them being perpetual victims. What do you think? What could have various ancient Faunus empires have been like? What are their legacies? Influences? And so on?

If their animal features gives them any of the animal mentality then faunus conflicts in the past may have been more faunus against faunus rather than faunus against human.

Which would have further helped humanity rise to become the dominant powers but human slaves would likely have been common. Though not just by Faunus, of course. Humans are always going to be nasty to eachother, after all.

Okay so I'm just saying Penny did something pretty cool with the Relic of Creation making it create weapons for her. But can you imagine if weapon obsessed Gun Nut Ruby Silver-Eyed Rose did this?

Like God damn the weapons she'd make, possibly even infusing them with her Silver-Eyed light since the origin of said power and the Relic are the same I'd imagine they're be a synergy about them.

The same way I like the idea of Jaune wielding destruction, his growth and experience up till now making him a proper holder of said power I feel the same way about Ruby

and another Lancaster Idea

SAY IT WITH ME, RUBY SHOULD'VE KEPT PENNY'S SWORD PERMANENTLY!

honestly it would've been interesting, hell she could've asked Jaune for tips to slowly draw him out of his own issues with Pyrrha... Letting him look back on his time training with her in a positive light instead of the purely self destructive way he did when watching those recordings.

To add onto this, you could have them make a team attack named Combat Ready. You can emphasize why Jaune doesn't want to visit his home due to his parent & sisters never believing in him & it clearly messed him up.

One of the most interesting things about Lancaster is their relationship really highlights the theme of a simple soul being able to make a difference. Ruby's decision to keep moving forward inspired Jaune to keep fighting when he lost the one person who ever really believed in him.. THAT'S SO PROFOUNDLY BEAUTIFUL

Jaune training with Ruby definitely should've happened frequently in Volume 4. Ruby could know more about his family, keep him from spiraling into another self-inflicted emotionally torturous training session at night, and make him smile with her iconic personality.

Jaune: "So, um, haha, did you know King Gilgamesh really hates copycats? It's why he hates my grandpa."
Yang: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Jaune: "It means Ruby might want to get a new robot."
Weiss: "Wha-"

Gilgamesh: "MONGRELS! That technique is fucking patented!"

------------------------------------------------------

Jaune: *sobbing* "I did it, Ruby! I killed Penny!"
Ruby: *tearing up*
Jaune: "I stabbed her with Crocea Mors! Then stuffed garlic in her mouth and staked her with a wooden lance!"
Ruby: "WHAT?! WHY?!"
Jaune: "Robot vampires. Then I scattered salt all over her!"
Ruby: "OH NO, HOW COULD...salt?"
Jaune: "Y'know, in case of robot zombies."
Ruby: "Oh, um...that makes sense, I guess."
Jaune: "Yeah, then I shot her with a silver bullet!"
Ruby: "Noooooo! How could...why silver?"
Jaune: "Do you want undead robot werewolves? Because that's how you get undead robot werewolves."

This made me chuckle out of the sheer randomness when I came across it!
