[RWBY] RWBY Shorts

What could have various ancient Faunus empires have been like? What are their legacies? Influences? And so on?

If their animal features gives them any of the animal mentality then faunus conflicts in the past may have been more faunus against faunus rather than faunus against human.

If their animal features gives them any of the animal mentality then faunus conflicts in the past may have been more faunus against faunus rather than faunus against human.

Which would have further helped humanity rise to become the dominant powers but human slaves would likely have been common. Though not just by Faunus, of course. Humans are always going to be nasty to eachother, after all.

Okay so I'm just saying Penny did something pretty cool with the Relic of Creation making it create weapons for her. But can you imagine if weapon obsessed Gun Nut Ruby Silver-Eyed Rose did this?

Like God damn the weapons she'd make, possibly even infusing them with her Silver-Eyed light since the origin of said power and the Relic are the same I'd imagine they're be a synergy about them.

The same way I like the idea of Jaune wielding destruction, his growth and experience up till now making him a proper holder of said power I feel the same way about Ruby

and another Lancaster Idea
bwbydummythicc

SAY IT WITH ME, RUBY SHOULD'VE KEPT PENNY'S SWORD PERMANENTLY!

evenmorefatallyobsessed

honestly it would've been interesting, hell she could've asked Jaune for tips to slowly draw him out of his own issues with Pyrrha... Letting him look back on his time training with her in a positive light instead of the purely self destructive way he did when watching those recordings.

bwbydummythicc

To add onto this, you could have them make a team attack named Combat Ready. You can emphasize why Jaune doesn't want to visit his home due to his parent & sisters never believing in him & it clearly messed him up.

One of the most interesting things about Lancaster is their relationship really highlights the theme of a simple soul being able to make a difference. Ruby's decision to keep moving forward inspired Jaune to keep fighting when he lost the one person who ever really believed in him.. THAT'S SO PROFOUNDLY BEAUTIFUL

Jaune training with Ruby definitely should've happened frequently in Volume 4. Ruby could know more about his family, keep him from spiraling into another self-inflicted emotionally torturous training session at night, and make him smile with her iconic personality.

Jaune: "So, um, haha, did you know King Gilgamesh really hates copycats? It's why he hates my grandpa."
Yang: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Jaune: "It means Ruby might want to get a new robot."
Weiss: "Wha-"

Gilgamesh: "MONGRELS! That technique is fucking patented!"

------------------------------------------------------

Jaune: *sobbing* "I did it, Ruby! I killed Penny!"
Ruby: *tearing up*
Jaune: "I stabbed her with Crocea Mors! Then stuffed garlic in her mouth and staked her with a wooden lance!"
Ruby: "WHAT?! WHY?!"
Jaune: "Robot vampires. Then I scattered salt all over her!"
Ruby: "OH NO, HOW COULD...salt?"
Jaune: "Y'know, in case of robot zombies."
Ruby: "Oh, um...that makes sense, I guess."
Jaune: "Yeah, then I shot her with a silver bullet!"
Ruby: "Noooooo! How could...why silver?"
Jaune: "Do you want undead robot werewolves? Because that's how you get undead robot werewolves."

This made me chuckle out of the sheer randomness when I came across it!

It's nice to be wanted. A well known saying.

Jaune Arc has to disagree. Being wanted sucks.

It started when he didn't get accepted into beacon, flat broke and refusing to go home Jaune looked for any other way to accomplish his dream.

And stumbled into the shadiest of shit. A Atlas research group looking for test subjects. Free room and board and a guaranteed spot in any field he desired upon completion of the experiment.

Naturally he signed up without a second glance.

And at first it wasn't too bad, a lot of poking and prodding and physical exams.

He was actually the third test subjects, apparently the last two left the project on.... unfriendly terms.

The project was a spin-off from a artificial aura project. They managed to make some kind of generator but whatever it was generating it wasn't aura. It was denser, stranger, and much more emotionally reactive.

The first subject, subject A, had one high powered reactor implanted inside him. It gave him fantastic abilities but also seemed to agitate him to a worrying degree.

It was decided to see if multiple reactors could curb each other's influence so the second test subjects, subject N, had two medium output reactors implanted and one small output reactor. It was a great success, though weaker than subject A dude to using less powerful reactors her temperament was much more stable and her abilities far more flexible.

Jaune, subject J, was to be their final experiment. They were going to implant seven high capacity resonance reactors inside his body.

The surgery hurt like a bitch, they couldn't put him under because they needed him awake to tell them what he was feeling and numbing agents barely did anything before the reactors burned them out.

Worst three hours of his life (so far). But the operation was a success. All seven reactors were active and his emotions and mindset seemed mostly unaltered (there was something he could feel in the back of his mind but it didn't seem to be doing anything so he left it alone).

Happy times all around right? Mission accomplished, time to go be a huntsmen trainee!

Except this project wasn't exactly as official as he was led to believe and when the scientist showed off their research and prized subject they got put down for unauthorized human experimentation and allocation of funds.

Which just left Jaune. Who was apparently lugging around the equivalent of an eighth of the yearly Atlas military budget in his chest.

And they wanted that back. Unfortunately these things weren't really designed to come out. They're bonded to his skeletal and muscular structures and integrated with his aura.

So Jaune does the smart thing.

And hauls ass. Now his face is plastered on every screen from radian to menagerie.

He really should have gone home.

So a few fun facts Jaune doesn't know.

Each reactor has a name and it's energy signature is different from every other reactor. Even two reactors made at the exact same time will be different.

The reactors energy can mix with aura and causes a multiplication of energy.

Each reactor can grant a ability similar to a semblance, though unlike semblances there is absolutely no telling what you get until you get it.

Jaunes reactors titles are currently secret but I can tell you about the other 4.

Subject A - rebellion reactor

Subject N - dream reactor, delusion reactor, desire reactor

If you can guess the other two subjects you get a cookie!

This would honestly make an awesome story. Though them just straight up wanting to make him a part to get their stuff back(something based on your wording is more likely to just destroy the damn things) and not making the most of it and drafting him into the Atlas military seems sus.

Like I said the reactors + aura is multiplicative.

Jaune has seven. He's a nuke on legs and Atlas is shitting a brick over it.

COSE RED! I REPEAT CODE RED! Volume 10 of RWBY is in development!

Ahhh... Yeah. My thoughts:

Kerry has been saying stuff about Volume 10 for a long time, several times in fact, mostly along these lines. There's been nothing official from ViZ so it's best to take this with a grain of salt-Like anything else CRWBY says. In fact make that a whole container of salt.

Were there good ideas in the last volumes of RWBY? Sure. But they were smothered under the inept execution, the terrible writing, and the pandering out of sheer desperation (which failed miserably).

Best case scenario for me: Volume 10 is released as a light novel or manga so that CRWBY can finish up whatever kind of story they were trying for. Then CRWBY is removed entirely and RWBY is handed over to a Japanese anime studio for a full reboot without all of the stupid crap RT did with it. You might say that RWBY would lose its' soul. To that I say: It already did when Monty Oum died and his "friends" turned RWBY into their vanity project.

But an anime studio that wanted to tell a good story and embrace RWBY as the love letter to anime and JRPGs it started as? That could at least have the spirit of Monty Oum. But after everything RT did with RWBY, I'm sorry, I cannot trust anyone associated with them to ever tell a good story with this universe.

Not just big, the terminology used was actually "HUGE Dick". So yeah. XD

.....then Miles goes and dispels all ambiguity and states in a cameo that Jaune has a fucking pringles can under his pants (10x7 slab of man-meat in inches)
Jaune has heared jokes about pringles before and is prepaired by carrying around a backpack full of cans.

Yang: "Hey Vomit Boy, is that a pringles can you have there or are you just happy to see me?"
Jaune: "Both."
Hands Yang a pringles can.
Jaune: "Because I'm happy to see you."
Walks away.
Yang stands there wondering just what the heck that interaction was.

Another season might not actually be that bad or even be good for different reasons.
A new season comming out will mean there will be renewed interest from fans, either because the new season is good/decent enough, or because it's mediocre/bad/awful and the fans will want to make better versions of what they got.
So regartless of quality there will be an increase in RWBY fanart and fanfics, which will vary in quality, but more regartless (including some of the great stuff).
Moreover, even the bad plot of RWBY will be new stuff, which will be fuel for new inspiraton, even if it's just to go directly against what happens in the actual show.

Personally I think one of the biggest problems that RWBY has overall is that it doesn't give the story a clear end-goal (technically it's stopping Salem or the god brothers, but they made both completely immortal, so that makes things difficult).
They have given almost no clear ways to achieve that or even actual hints towards how to learn ways to do so, meaning that the series could series could theoretically to own forever without real direction.
Even the Pokemon tv series (which was deliberatly designed to go on forever from the start) has a clear end-goal, becoming a Pokemon Master (which is in the first theme song).

Yang, Penny, and Ruby in that order. As for Ren maybe they are going with Korean Pretty Boy idea? Though I do like how Jaune looks like a mixture of Cowboy and Knight.

I had a dark idea that is also a ship idea.

The first time she sees her is right after stabbing that blonde bimbo in the gut.

She's thinking of maybe leaving her a few scars or bald when she gets slammed into by a black and red missile.

There's a half feral teenager trying to desperately cut her throat.

Neo thinks she's in love.

The second time they meet the fires faded. She's hesitant and meeker she doesn't shoot to kill.

It's lost the thrill, at least until the hidden grenades she tossed at her team go off and their auras shatter.

Suddenly she's alive again in a storm of rose petals and her own blood. Little red is screaming and crying, disheveled and manic.

She's beautiful.

The third time they meet she's unconscious. She got caught spying on a operation and one of the animals bashed her with a metal crate (she'd have to remember to gut him later in front of his friends.) and tied her up.

Well that wouldn't do. Neo gave the ropes a few swipes with a blade (she keeps plenty on her) and they frayed and loosened.

There now little red has a fighting chance and neo has done her good deed for the year.

But before she leaves she decides to take a reward. It's not the best kiss she's ever had (usually they have to be awake for that) but something about the taste of chocolate on her tongue feels so right.

She skips away and begins planning their next date, but how to draw out that wild side she longs for?

Maybe burning down her house will be a good start.

Why hello there creepy yandere neo where the fuck did you come from?

Hmmmm...

This might be good for a chapter of the Arc Clan.

Revy as Ruby psychotic aunt.... Remnant is not ready.

Revy Dated Qrow But still loves the Kids and visits more often then Qrow can and just never tries to break Ruby idealism. Just tell some people aren't worth the effect and need to go with Ruby showing in canon she will not hesitate to kill
Would be ironic Qrow and Tai try to ease into the whole having to kill, only for Ruby to cut them off with how Auntie Revy already told her if they try to kill you they have killed before and will again so stop them.. also pedo/rapist aren't people they are targets

On Worldbuilding: Faunus Warlords and the SDC
So... At least for the purposes of my little verse for RWBY, Vale is like a mix of the US and Europe, while Atlas is like a mix of the US, Russia and Germany.
Culturally and technologically speaking. A number of Mistalian and Vacuoan powers can rival them, but at least in the last century Vale and Atlas have been the most stable and powerful nation-states on the planet. Vacuo had many past glories but fell apart, and Mistral has several powerful sub-kingdoms but they're only loosely in a confederation of a kingdom. And Menagerie is thriving but still isn't on the level of the Big Four, even with Vacuo's issues. Not yet.

Which raises a few possibilities: One, Jacques makes a lot of his money with the SDC and slave labor in the easiest way possible. Just like modern megacorps, he uses slave labor in the parts of Vacuo, Mistral and Menagerie that are lawless. So that makes more sense why he can get away with his shit. Atlas and Vale are powerful but they can't police the world.

Two, Menagerie is pretty big. While Ghira and Kali's government may have driven out the SDC, there would have been Faunus loyal to the old regimes because they were getting rich off Faunus slave labor. So you can have various rogue Faunus warlords in Menagerie and elsewhere who work with the SDC to get rich, just like Third World Warlords do in our world.

Hell, some of them might be working with the more radical elements of the White Fang. The reveal that the White Fang is not only working with terrorists to destabilize the world and kill millions of people with Grimm, AND are exploiting their own people for money and power from the SDC, would be enough for Blake and Sun to get the political clout needed to dissolve the White Fang and to lead an army to help humanity. There.

Yes it's cliche but that's still a step above how Menagerie was handled in canon and gives you a lot more options.
