Dammit. The Vortigen Plot Bunny
Just. Won't. Leave.
It's basically this: RWBY canon goes as normal, but at the end; the conclusion is a downer ending and the Brothers decide to nuke everyone.......except for the fact that at that exact moment, before obliteration, Jaune awakens the Magic within him that he obtained from his exposure to the Ever After. Fittingly, Jaune's first accidental Magic is a Time Stop spell, followed by a
Massive Time Back spell; back to a time of myths; to an Age far before even Ozma's and Salem's.
And he did
NOT go back alone. Turns out, Time is Light, and one who has completely mastered the Silver Eyes has become Immune to Time Magic.
Summer Rose was at that final battle when the Brothers appeared.
.....something, something, something, something; Jaune Arc becomes Vortigen and was worshipped as Saviour King......something, something, something God of Light becomes jealous and sends his zealots to destroy the Utopia Jaune had created........something, something, something Jaune proceeds to give the Brothers the mother of all curbstomps........something, something, something Summer Rose was capable of snapping Jaune back from his Rage before his Semblance (Aura Amp --> Soul Infinity) and Principle (Willpower --> Unbound Soul) consumed his humanity and made him nothing more than a Vessel of Pure Power and Will (akin to a force of nature).
.....something, something Jaune then realizes that HE was the one who caused the Brothers to fear Humanity to the point of making them outright antagonistic towards them and realizes that the future would unfold the same unless he DID something. Jaune then has an idea and decides to ask Summer if she could sever his [Soul] from his [Body] with her Magic and then seal the [Body] at the core of Ever Green (it is not called Remnant yet). Summer thinks she can but is hesitant and asks as to WHY would Jaune just want to kill himself. Jaune then reveals that he is pretty sure his [Soul] has grown to the point it could suvive being outside of his own [Body] for a
LONG time, longer than even Summer could live; long enough to nudge the pieces during different times to the point he could subtly but surely change the future outcome.
Meanwhile, his [Body], sealed within the core of the world, will also slowly generate and release all of the [Aura], [Lore] and [Magic] that Jaune left with it and bathe Ever Green (or Remnant, as it will be known in the future) with it; so that once the Brothers inevitably nuke Humanity and leave while taking their [Magic] with them, Jaune's [Magic] will slowly bleed in to Humanity 2.0; so that the Brothers no longer have any [Authority] over them.
It's basically a plan that pretty much imitates and recreates how the Great Tree is the source of all [Magic] in the Ever After, Vortigen's [Body] will become the Great Core that becomes the source of all [Magic] in Ever Green/Remnant. Vortigen's [Lingering Will] eventually dies, and decades later; Jaune Arc is born, the soul looping back to it's original initial state, but the powers and memories sealed until this Jaune was ready to regain them.
......Yeah, this kind of plot bunny could also serve as a perfect plot setup for a reboot.
