Dark Heavens | Space Ship Girls Quest [Original Setting]

How lucky are we today?

Also, Personally, I wonder why we need a harem.
[dice]1295[/dice]

That apparently we are stupidly good at getting a harem by accident? Since if that Fuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu! roll is for what I think it is that's the second time the dice have pushed us that way.

Kind of curious what our Diplomacy 104 roll from last turn actually produced, since the turn didn't really have anything too dramatic.

Its me rolling. And I don't get good luck. take a moment to look at my signature, and realize that that roll that seems impossible actually happened to me.

So be afraid. Be very afraid. That 97 is trouble.

It doesn't take much for you to accept the request and transmit the IFF packet back to your Big Sister and your other sisters, on a narrow beam transmission much like the way the packet had been transmitted to you.

[ChiChi - Welcome to ChiChi's Freelancers, Ciara.]

This was followed up by more transmissions by your other sisters welcoming you to the group.

[Chichi - Ciara... I know you're young and likely have had no experience in some of the things that one runs into outside the nest you grew up in...] There was a sheepish tone in your Big Sister's voice.

[Jack - There are dangerous things out here. Some of them will be our sisters.] The angry one from earlier spoke up.

[ChiChi - It is as Jack says. Will you be fine with fighting others of our kind?]

There was a ping from your sensors of... someone emerging from Slipstream just outside the system. But for you to be pinged... it had to be a large mass or a number of others all emerging at once.

[So - Girls... small problem, they found us. It's K'un's fleet. Or a part of it.] There was a worried look on So's face as she spoke up.

[Aki - It's time~]
[Aoi - to dock~]
[Aki - and run~]
[Aoi - or fight?]

There were more narrow transmissions as So tilted her head and listened to what her senses were telling her.

[So - It's the dragon, Sohryuu. And her escorts just detached... two cruisers and four scouts.] There was a hint of a wince from ChiChi at what So said.

[ChiChi - Girls... time to dock. Time to run. Ciara, I'm sorry... but please dock with me and I'll explain everything.]

Ciara - Hunter with Massive Weapon Type [special : Extremely Fast Self Repair]

Long Range scanners picking them up seconds before we did is kind of sad.

Also this is apparently a full wolf pack of submarines. We don't match!

Not sure why we need to dock to run, seems like that would just slow things down. Also by dock does she mean go inside her into a ridiculously massive hangar space (big enough for six submarines and a cruiser?) or just latch on to the exterior?

I want to vote this, but... do we have numbers on our side? The Dragon, two cruisers, four scouts... that's seven ships, against at most eight. If that's a numerical advantage, it isn't much of one, and everyone but Ciara is damaged.

She's big enough for you to cling on to... but that hangar does look big enough for you to go into....

What you've got is
1 Cargo Ship - VERY durable... relatively mobile, but lightly armed
6 submarines - Very mobile, but armament is only medium
1 cruiser - on virgin shake down, somewhat mobile, and has good! armor and weapons

What you're looking at
1 Carrier - 20 parasite crafts with extreme mobility but light weapon/armors, weak guns, heavy armor, also slow
2 Cruisers - somewhat mobile, and has decent armor and weapons
4 Scouts - Good mobility, light armament

Also.... please note that long range sensors are good in that, So IDed numbers and types while you can only tell that there was a slip-stream exit.

Let's lose our virginity with style!

...er, lemme try that again. I mean that, with our sisters' help, this should hurt much at all - or maybe only at first.

I mean - as long as older sister lends us protection -

... oh, nevermind, let's just do it already!

Would really like to know reasons behind fighting before committing, our new allies aren't confident about this engagement at all either (not to mention beat up), I doubt just us will make a super big difference. Besides, we haven't even met 10 sister-ships yet, why fight?

Bravely run away to fight another day!

Alright, so chatting with bii in IRC clears up a bit of the fog of war, and I got enough out of the vague responses and pulled enough of the mechanics out of the fluff ball to say we can win reasonably handily with a bit of work.

And to start. We need to lead with a taunt.

No! You will doom us all! DOOOOM!!!

...

Oh well.

Going with running. I'm tempted to go with fight, but with our sisters damaged it would be easy to lose one or two of them in the fight. We also don't know why they are fighting, it could well be this Sohryuu is the intergalactic version of a sheriff and our group are basically a bunch of Robin Hood style thieves/mercenaries. If so then I could see them running specifically because they don't want to fight the good guys. The fact that running now will have their reasons explained to us is a good reason by itself to run to me.

For the fight itself? I expect we would have to hold both cruisers and some of the fighters while the subs took out the scouts and ChiChi fought the carrier. While damage to us wouldn't matter to much because of our insane self repair the others don't have that. Also we don't know if our repairs can be done in the middle of a fight if Ciara is disabled while the enemies focus on others. If so then it is a massive advantage, if not it means even with our repairs we are out of the fight, we are just ready sooner after it.

Edit: Changed my vote.
