[RWBY] RWBY Shorts

Idea:

- Jaune is a Lunarian, which gives him a couple of pretty good abilities (fire manipulation, flight, toughness, etc.) that are separate from Aura.
He's also naturaly a tall, muscular, blond, tanned, goth, Gyaruo angel, so Yang (and possibly Ruby) drool the first time they see him.

Not sure if the extreme discrimination and being hunted by the goverment against Lunarians is also the case on Remnant like it is in the world of One Piece, or if they just have to deal with regular Faunus related racism (they may be be able to pass for a regular bird-faunus if they turn of their fire).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway; for those who are interested in picking up the Jaune Arc/Vortigen idea, here's an outline of the powers he has at his peak and what they represent:

Semblance: Aura Amp --> Soul Infinity
Represents his ardent desire to help others. His selflessness manifests as the ability to empower others and even donate the power of his own [Soul] (initially, it was only [Aura]; but after evolution, it also includes [Lore] and [Magic], as well) to restore theirs. Further evolution also gains the ability to nullify the power of other's [Souls] and even drain it as well; it is a manifestation of his deep desire to neutralize non-Grimm and non-Bliss threats non-lethally unless there is absolutely no other choice.

Once Vortigen gains full dominion of his [Soul], [Aura Amp] evolves into [Soul Infinity]; The Final Stage and The True Form of Jaune's [Semblance], and it is every bit as disgustingly overpowered as it sounds. It possesses all of its previous evolution's powers ([Aura Amp], [Aura Gift], [Aura Sap] and [Aura Null]) but astronomically improved in both power and range. However, now it can also instantly copy, understand and adapt other [Semblances] (as well as [Principles] and [Authorities]) on the spot by simply draining a person's [Aura] (as well as [Lore] and [Magic]). Jaune's [Aura] (as well as [Lore] and [Magic]) is unaffected by other's [Aura], [Lore] and [Magic] (which includes [Semblances], [Principles] and [Authority] by extension), and also cannot be sealed nor nullified by any means other than by [Soul Infinity].

[Soul Infinity] also has the passive effect of making Jaune's [Aura Barrier] always be on, without any input from Jaune (wheras others need to focus in order to summon their [Aura Barrier], Jaune instead would need to focus in order to supress his). [Soul Infinity]'s true power, however, is [Soul Infinity], a passive effect that grants the [Power of Infinity] to Jaune's [Soul], granting it the ability to constantly evolve, adapt and transcend without limits.

Principle: Willpower --> Unbound Soul
Represents his unbreakable will and the strength of his [Mind] and [Spirit] as well as his natural charisma and talent for leadership. His strong will manifests as the ability to be completely immune to mind-altering effects (via from [Drugs], [Semblances] or [Hypnosis] to name a few examples) and even extends to make Jaune's [Body] highly resistant to poisons and other sorts of toxins so long as he has the [Will] to resist and/or live. It also allows the user to push its [Body], [Mind] and [Soul]'s performance beyond their limits by sheer force of stubborness. Further evolution also gains the ability to force others to follow his commands but with secondary effects that depend on the target's willingness to obey them. If the order is one that the target would willingly obey; then it not only forces them to obey but empowers them to make them more capable of fulfilling that order. If the order is one the target would refuse to obey; then it forces the target into a trance-like state that suppresses their willpower and forces them to obey the order, although their capacity to fulfill it may take a hit in exchange (Jaune absolutely despises using this power, and would only use it to solve hostage and/or suicide negotitations, or when someone actually asks him to use it on them to increase chances of success. PS: yes, [Willpower]'s boost effect stacks with [Aura Amp]'s effect).

Once Vortigen gains full dominion of his [Soul], [Willpower] evolves into [Unbound Soul]; The Final Stage and The True Form of Jaune's [Principle], and, again, it is just as disgustingly overpowered as it sounds. It possesses all of its previous evolution's powers ([Righteous Will], [Enduring Will] and [Sovereign Will]) but astronomically improved in both power and effects. For one thing, Jaune's commands no longer affect just people; it can also now affect non-Human/non-Faunus targets as well (of which include [The Creatures of Grimm], [The Heralds of Bliss], and even objects as well elemental and atmospheric phenomena).

[Unbound Soul]'s true power, however, is [Unbound Soul], a passive effect that grants the [Power of Eternity] to Jaune's [Body] and [Soul], granting his [Body] what is basically Salem's Immortality Curse and his [Soul] the ability to exist outside his own [Body] and even possess and fully take over other people's [Bodies], and even objects like suits of armor (In other words, Ozma's Immortality Curse, but more. This latter effect is, again, yet another one that Jaune absolutely despises; which is rather apropos for one who hates himself).

Authority: 0 - The Fool: The Power of Potentiality --> XXII - The Fool: The Power of Singularity
Represents Jaune's initial untrained state and the immense, nigh-limitless potential that slumbers within him. The [Authority] of [0 - The Fool] is an unique one; in that it is, for all intents and purposes, a complete and utter dud on its initial state. [0 - The Fool] is also the rarest [Authority] of them all, and very, very few beings ever inherit it. Back during the [Age of Magic], it was believed that those who inherited this [Authority] were cursed by [The Brother Gods], and as a result; bearers of this [Authority] were often shunned as harbingers of bad luck, akin to a walking curse.

The true power of [0 - The Fool] only shines when the wielder trains themselves and improve themselves: mastering their [Body], [Mind] and [Soul] and further reaching greater and greater heights. However, this fact was often considered by people to be just a myth as well as a coping mechanism for those unlucky(?) to be born with [0 - The Fool]; due to how unfathomably difficult it was to break through the threshold required in order to evolve [0 - The Fool] into the next stage.

Jaune Arc was, uncannily enough, born with the perfect [Semblance] and [Principle] combination needed to fully make use of this [Authority]; since both [Aura Amp --> Soul Infinity] and [Willpower --> Unbound Soul] greatly accelerated Jaune's [Body], [Mind] and [Souls]'s development; to the point Jaune reached that seemngly unreachable threshold five years after travelling back in time, and evolving [0 - The Fool] into [XII - The Fool]; The Final Stage and The True Form of Jaune's [Authority].

The power of [XII - The Fool] is beyond even the realm of [The Brother Gods], as while they may have been born with [XXI - The World: The Power of Divinity]; [XXII - The Fool: The Power of Singularity] is as simple in explanation as it is reason-defying, it grants Jaune enhanced versions of the powers granted by every other [Authority]; it effectively turns Jaune into a walking [Authority Singularity]. In other words, inheriting [0 - The Fool] is the equivalent of initially going bankrupt after losing every gamble only to later win the Jackpot in every single slot machine and at every single lottery at the same time.

Preferred Magic Type: Time Magic
While people may think that I chose Jaune to have it because of the [Time Fruit], Jaune's [Affinity] and preference for [Time Magic] goes even deeper than that. Throughout his whole life, Jaune's greatest failures were all marked by one single fact, "He was too late", "He didn't have enough time", "He started the journey last" "He was always left behind". These feelings resonate deeply within Jaune's very [Soul] and thusly, to someone who's deepest, fondest wish was to "Always be on time"; his [Soul] awakened to [Magic] by accessing and resorting to the one element he personally aligns with far more than any other.

Vortigen's favorite and most used battle magics are:
--[Time Seer]: basically Diavolo's King Crimson's Epitaph sub-ability; allows to Jaune to see the fated future with 100% accuracy
--[Time Skip]: basically Obito's Kamui's intangibility effect/Diavolo's King Crimson's time-eating effect
--[Time Leap]: basically Made in Heaven's accelerated time effect
--[Time Stop]: ZA WARUDO!!!!, that is all
--[Time Back]: basically, the same effect as Young Xehanort when he rewinds time to heal his health or Gold Experience Requiem's "Zero" ability, just without the infinite deaths thing

**Personal Note: I may or may not have also chosen Time Magic for Jaune due to my fondness for the pun in Arc of Time**

Since you brought it up
Another idea I had is that, just like all Souls are not equal; so are the Aura Barriers different in their properties, strenghts and weaknesses for every individual. Not to mention, said properties, strengths and weaknesses also change as the individual grows.

Using the SMT template, it would be defined like this:

Lie Ren (Beacon)
**Note: Ren's Barrier has no observable weaknesses, and it is resistant to Psychic Element attacks, on top of being resistant to Bliss (Light) and Grimm (Dark) Element attacks as well.**

Ok so a small handful of ideas here.

1. Jaune finds out Ren and Nora hate the winter holidays. Turns out being homeless orphans don't make for the best holidays. Doubly so when it's cold outside. This must be fixed.

2.Neo and Roman are hiding because there's a crazy ass faunus chasing them and trying to kill them. At least they think he's a faunus, some kinda goat maybe? Never heard of a goat called Krampus but they've got more important things to worry about. Like where the asshole keeps getting all this hot coal he's throwing at them!

3.Blake is being problematic again. This time it's not racism. No it's a bit worse. She's resisting urges to be a cannibal. She didn't even know there were shrimp and crab faunus!

4. Ruby has a date?! Well kinda, he showed up in a dust explosion and Ruby agreed to show him around when he gets out of the hospital (and interrogation). And she really feels a connection to the red haired (with black tips) boy. Maybe it's the silver eyes or cool cloak? Whatever it is Ruby has a good feeling about Rudy Rust.

5. Atlas is a great place for innovation but they're a bit lazy at times. What's a quick way to make money and train their combat AI? The time old tradition of making kids do it.
So Atlas starts selling "toys" of simple robots with swappable body parts (mostly experimental weapons and movement gear scaled down to civilian safety standards). The robots are companions. They'll learn and grow from the world around them (based off of a VERY early build of Penny's personality matrix) and what's atlas calling these wonderful little tax write-offs?
Medabots.

6. Teams RWBY and JNPR find out Zwei isn't the only pet in Beacon. In fact there's enough to start a club. From Cardin and his Bunny to Neptune and his Octopus. There's plenty of interesting pets being hidden from the teachers. (Spoiler the teachers are totally aware they're just not paid enough to give a shit.)

Bad time to be a lobster Faunus with a tail......

Lobster Dude - "Miss, please stop dipping me in butter!"

Ghira: "Expelled?! What? Why?"
Ozpin: "Well, it all started when we caught Miss Belladonna reading a book while sitting next to Mr. Nemo's bed."
Ghira: "What's the problem then? Aren't they teammates?"
Ozpin: "Teammates? Mr. Nemo is three years ahead of your daughter, Chieftain."
Ghira: "..."
Ozpin: "We could have overlooked the breaking and entering, if not for the fact that the book was on preparing sushi and that Mr. Nemo is a salmon faunus."

I feel like this is what Blake is doing.

Whitley catches Ruby during a vulnerable moment when the team is in Atlas. She admits she's afraid and tired and not sure how to proceed. Whitley is able to connect to her and admits he too is having trouble with his personal demons. They talk about this and bond over their trauma. Which slowly grows into an attraction throughout the Atlas arc.
This sounds sweet, and if RWBY+J still fall to the ever after i wonder if the events would play the same or be different

Speaking of Atas i unfortunately ran into Ironwood glazers so i wanna rant

Lets take out RWBY and ORNJ from Atlas and keep the game canon lets spell out what happens
-Ironwood Fails
Lets say for the sake of arguement Ironwood actually gets his message out.. who would listen?
last anyone saw he either butchered Vale or was to incompetent to stop his robots from going rogue or getting hacked!
Not to mention the fact man has negative charisma, Literally he is someone that makes others unconscious distrust him unless he actually explains himself full like with AceOps] and they turned on him! after he went full crazy but still
and Amity actually getting up? Ya no

Now then lets brake down the what if's
- Arthur just hacks into the network he built and wins instantly!
- Tyrian keeps killing people and framing Ironwoods men leading to riots and grimm invasion
-Cinder sneaks in and kills Fria since it was only do to team RWBY and ORNJ that she failed as Penny was their!
-Neo just a irredeemable mass murdering psycho and just wants to kill Ruby [seriously why not Ruby and Cinder???]
- The game guy coup goes off and Atlas is in Civil war leading to a grimm invasion
- Atlas some how ends up in the atmosphere... SALEM AND GRIMM CAN FLY AND DUST AND GRIMM HAVE THE SAME LIMITS LEAVING REMNANT HE WAS NOT ESCAPING

all in all Ironwood was a shit tactician a shit leader and terrible at PR

There is a reason the fandom think Ruby and Jaune are the only 2 good leaders on Remnant!

Theodore let a mindcontrol guy with delusions of god hood wake out his academy with out a tracker or put him on a list and is surprised a cult popped up?

Ghira let the White Fang all but be synonymies with Meragerie

Leo ...

Oz was just complacent, and overcome when Salem used her methods she refined for killing SIlver Eyed Warriors on him instead of some more overt plan

The Arc Clan: Cousin Virginia New
There were times when Jaune cursed his nature. His desire to help others. Oh don't get him wrong, he loved to help! Loved to make a difference! It's why he had run away to become a Huntsman, after all!

But helping RWBY fight the White Fang on a school night was not what he signed up for! Not this many times, anyway!

They were outside a warehouse on the outskirts of town, away from the docks. Which was a nice change, there were actually some trees around the dilapidated lots near the wall. Nora tried to catch a squirrel, but failed miserably.

"Ooh, those tree rats are feisty ones," Nora grumbled as they headed towards the warehouse Blake had directed them to strike, "Sloths are so much better. They don't run from hugs!"

"They're probably just shy," Jaune consoled Nora. Nora scowled.

"But they're so jittery! How can you be jittery and shy?"

"Would you be quiet?" Blake hissed as they approached the lit up building, "They can probably hear us!"

"Right, focus everyone," Jaune ordered. Ruby stood at his side. "We remember the plan. We split into pairs, we each take a side. We clear the building from the bottom up, and when we find the hostage-"

"Treat them carefully," Ruby said, "Jaune will do the medical support and-"

"AIYYYEEEEE!"

Everyone turned to the building, weapons drawn and Semblances ready. A huge crowd of White Fang members, in various states of undress, barreled out of every window of the warehouse. They charged towards the Hunters-in-Training... And threw themselves onto their knees in front of them.

"SAVE US!"

"TAKE US TO JAIL!"

"GIVE US PANTS!"

Ruby, quite naturally, was flabberghasted. Yang immediately covered her eyes.

"H-HEY! YANG! LEMME SEE! I'M THE LEADER!"

"What is going on around here?!" Blake cried in disbelief.

The nearest wall of the warehouse shattered. A tall, stunning blonde woman in full plate armor (that could not hide her voluptuousness) smashed through, holding a sword. Her eyes were wild, and twitching dangerously.

"YOU WILL VIOLATE MEEEE!" She shrieked. The White Fang soldiers screamed and took off, running like their very lives depended on it. The armored woman charged. Jaune's eyes widened in shock, horror...
And recognition.

"VIRGINIA!" Jaune shouted.

The tall woman skidded to a halt, and stared at Jaune in shock.

"J-Jaune?!"

"Huh?" Was Blake's intelligent reply.

- - -

The cops arrived soon after, taking the White Fang members into custody. Virginia, RWBY and JNPR met in a nearby diner which was still open late. The six foot eight tall woman awkwardly sat on one creaking chair on one side of a table, while everyone else faced her on the other. Nora dug into her pancakes, in utter bliss as Ren sat with her.

"So um... This is my cousin Virginia," Jaune said with an awkward smile, "She's a Paladin Huntress. And she's really strong!"

"I can tell," Weiss said dryly. Virginia coughed.

"Ah, yes, um, sorry. I was trying to infiltrate the White Fang base, you see."

"In full armor," Weiss deadpanned. Virginia shrugged.

"Um... Paladins aren't particularly stealthy!"

"We noticed," Blake observed, staring intently at Virginia.

"Okay, go on?" Jaune pressed. Virginia coughed.

"Ah, well..." She sipped her coffee, her eyes going all over the place, "I um, I got captured. I then challenged them to combat for my freedom. I even spotted them my sword... My armor... My other weapons... And all my clothing! To-To make it fair! But they made me keep the armor and clothes."

"Uh huh," Yang said, looking rather skeptical.

"Seriously?" Ruby asked in disbelief, "That's dumb of them! You're like a walking tank!"

"Th-Thank you!" Virginia said with a kind smile, "But I challenged them all at once! I knew they might overpower me! They had to! Why didn't they overwhelm and defeat me?!"

She groaned and looked to the ceiling.

"They could have had me at their mercy... I-I would have done anything they wanted! Absolutely anything! No matter how depraved or-or debauched!"

She looked like she was drooling. Jaune chuckled even as all his friends stared in varying degrees of disbelief at Virginia.

"Come on, Virginia! You're a total monster in combat! You're as strong as my mom and dad! There's no way you could be defeated like that!"

"... Y-Yes, of course," Virginia sighed, now looking morosely into her coffee, "I had them on the ropes... Which is when they decided to retreat! Enmasse! Which is when you showed up!" She sipped her coffee, bright red.

"L-Lucky for them, isn't it?" She mumbled.

"Wow," Jaune said with a grin, "You're as incredible as always, Virginia! I hope I'm half as good a Huntsman when I graduate!"

"Y-Yes, so do I," Virginia sighed. She looked at Jaune with an intense stare. "You've been training hard, I see?"

"Oh yeah!" Jaune said cheerfully. "All my friends have helped out!" He flexed an arm with a grin. "Especially Pyrrha!"

"Really?" Virginia asked, looking very intensely at Jaune. Enough so that Ruby, Pyrrha and Yang all scooted closer to him. Blake stared in disbelief. Weiss grimaced. Ren stared intensely.

Nora was in pancake nirvana but it had been a long night for her so nobody minded.

"Really!" Jaune said cheerfully. "I'd love to show off my training!"

"Yes!" Virginia said with a happy nod and smile, "Yes! Um, we should meet at Beacon! In the gym! No need to wear a shirt, Jaune!"

"Why not a shirt?" Jaune asked curiously.

"Yeah, why?" Pyrrha asked, her smile very dangerous.

Virginia coughed.

"Um... Because of how sweaty we'll get?"

"Oh, I suppose that makes sense," Jaune nodded.

Pyrrha abruptly dumped her coffee in Jaune's lap. Jaune yelped.

"ACK!"

"Oh dear, how clumsy of me," Pyrrha said, almost sweetly, "Jaune, why don't you clean that up in the bathroom? We'll keep your cousin company."

"Oh, uh, sure," Jaune said with a nod. He smiled to Virginia as he got up. "It's really great to see you again."

"L-Likewise," Virginia managed, staring intensely. Her eyes followed him into the bathroom... Only interrupted when Yang stood up and glared. A glare shared by pretty much everyone else at the table. Nora included, since she was done with her pancakes.

"Mind telling us what the hell is up?" Yang demanded. "You're cousins!"

"
N-Not... Not that distant of cousins," Virginia mumbled awkwardly. Blake hummed.

"How distant?"

"BLAKE!" Ruby cried, scandalized. The cat Faunus shrugged.

"I'm just curious!"

"I'm sorry!" Virginia wailed. "I'm-I'm a thirty year old virgin! Nobody is interested! It's insane! It's like I've been cursed! And Jaune is literally the only man to have ever been... Been okay with being around me!"

She shrugged.

"Is... Is it really that bad to want to... Um... Give him an option for an older girlfriend?"

Silence ensued.

"YES!" Ruby cried. "YOU'RE FILTH! FILTH!"

"Now now," Blake said, "Let's hear her out."

"BLAKE!" Ruby cried.

"What?! It's only sort of incest-y! Not compared to some of the... More lurid works in my collection-"

"BLAAAAAKE!"

Jaunes hoodie gets a tear in it so he goes looking for a replacement.

Turns out they're not sold in stores or online anymore. Hell apparently the only place you could get them outside of the cereal box tops was to go to Pumpkin Petes Pumpkin Patch O'fun.

A small amusement park Jaune didn't even know existed. Well used to exist. The whole place got closed down a while ago.

Luckily it's not too far for a weekend trip~

Jaunes pretty sure nobody would be too bent out of shape if he were to sneak in and liberate some hoodies from the gift shop.

I mean what's the worst that could happen?

(Not quite directly based off of anything just a jumble up of mascot horror games and tropes)

Let's spin this one around a little. At that point, Jaune is a bit more competent than the usual idiots that blunder in those horror scenarios. So instead, when he realises what's going on, he starts hunting the possessed mascots and crazy cannibals. In a "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me" way.

I just pictured a purple cookie monster with Jaune slowly coming up from behind it and putting it in a sleeper hold.

Idea for a cousin in Ruby and Yang's family tree. There's a reason why Taiyang never talks about his cousin... And why Salem doesn't control all the Grimm into a singular hivemind.

The Goblin- I mean, Grimm Fucker... Richard Dickens "Coomer" Xiao long.

... I'm sorry, wut?

In a "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me" way.
how long would it take for someone to write this? because I really want to read this, but I suck at writing.
