Well, Honoka aside, everyone that don't know about the supernatural are asleep, so there's nothing preventing us from going full SOLAR BULLSHIT at least.

Still, how the hell were our Knacks disabled ? The only reason we have those at all is because we're already a dragon. Just because Ddraig's draconic energy is unavailable, we shouldn't be devoid of our own.

Honestly, I believe that the entire reason we even have draconic energy is because of boosted gear. So I guess when they get shut off like this, we just become a normal *Hah* human.

Though it is an interesting idea to be able to shut off boosted gear just to get rid of our dragon weakness.

While I agree with the sentiment, that's not happening anytime soon. There's a reason why even as far as we come so far she still sees us as a worm.

Nah, that's not how dragon energy works, you either have it and can use it or you don't and you can't. Its probably something bright did since I can't think of any other reason why we would suddenly lose it. If it was an outside shaping effect we would be able to activate integrity protecting prana and laugh off any attempts to mess with our abilities. It even activates in response on its own, so surprising us isn't a valid strategy to get around it.

This could be the same thing before Issei reached scale mail in canon vol 5, but then Ddraig was still able to communicate with Issei and Boosted Gear was still visible. Even when Issei couldn't use his Boosted Gear back in vol 5 his body is still dragon, which made him resist the poison created by Kuroka.

Saving the victims is important, can we swap holy/fire damage to ice? We freeze its vines and let the masters cut them down taking back the victims first, then we go all out.
 
We have no knowledge of Ice, only Air, Holy and Fire.

We may be cut off from dragon knacks simply because all the dragon energy inside us is going nuts, it can't do anything else but try and stabilize as it were.

As it stands us trying to get as much attention as possible *hence the full attack plus taunting* to take as much attention as possible is probably our best option, without Dragon knacks we loose a lot of mobility so our best bet is to tank while the Masters get the objectives

Hey guys maybe we should also consider summoning Eiko to while we're at it, she could probably help out quite a bit.
 
we can do that when we have a spare moment, right now we need to get the people captured to safety, and Eiko is ALL THE FIRE, which, is you know, not what we need when there are people in this things ten...Vines

plus she and the others have problems back at our home city to deal with at present, we are not so weak that we need to cry for help when we have 2 Master class martial artists here with us for this
 
It's not really a question of whether we're strong or weak, but whether summoning Eiko would keep more people safe than not.

I mean, sure we're going to beat this thing's face in eventually, but if it costs the lives of 3 people when we could have saved them by summoning Eiko...

Or the reverse: If Eiko is in the middle of something important and we summon her and caused people to lose their lives?

Considering we do have 2 master-class martial artists here, and they seem to recognize the monster, perhaps we should check with them for any tips/weaknesses? I still agree with the charm actions though.

Double checking here, we've got 7 hostages to rescue?

like I said, Eiko and the others have trouble in our home town they are dealing with, we have 2 Master class martial artists with us atm, and the Youkai has flat out said it eats things by

As things stand right now, Eiko is not going to make things any better for us, as she's a ranged fighter who's only attacks are fire based, while calling her may well put the others in danger.

I was trying (badly it is true) to be funny with that 'weak' comment before as well, at a cost/benefits whatsname*to tired to think of the correct word* its not worth calling her when we don't know what she's in the middle of, not with how little she can help the current situation

that's my view of course, ymmv

Just because we can debt buy those skills doesn't necessarily mean its a good idea. I mean buying and immediately using two techniques that one; we have never used before and two; we don't have Bright here to grant us some advice in how to use them, seems like more than a gambit to me. Best to stick to what we have and can use rather than go all in with a fresh hand.

don't we have void element as well. We never used it though. I'd say stick to melee when big ugly opens his mouth some well place fireballs in the gut for massive damage!

although this would be a good time to see how far he has come with his light saber, or some of his more exotic skills and spells.

also do you guys think that we will get a ascended extra out of 20 when we rescue her?

Prerequisite Charms: None
The greatest weapon of a Dragon is his breath. Solars agree there is no need for fancy tricks if one has sufficient power. This Charm permits the Solar to fire a bolt of Essence. The bolt is targeted with Dexterity + (Athletics or Archery) with an Accuracy bonus equal to the Solar's Essence and a range of (Essence x 20) yards. The bolt inflicts 4L every 2 motes spent, up to a maximum number of motes equal to (Stamina)x2. By spending 1 additional mote the Solar can add an elemental aspect to the bolt and trigger one of the following effects:
-Holy: instead of lethal the bolt inflict aggravated damage to creatures of darkness.
-Fire: set the target ablaze for a single action (+4L to the attacker's damage pool).
-Air: buffets the target, subtracting two dices from her next action.
(Additional possible effects can be added afterwards once the Solar learn how to manipulate the corresponding element through another ability)

When peoples lives are on the line is NOT the time to be playing around with our new toy, we use our strongest weapon and KILL IT DEAD, we can find something some other time when lives are not in danger to use the light saber on, preferably when we actually have 1st Melee Excellency and some other Melee charms as well

Also, as Raiser showed, Dragon Wave isn't that useful on anything that can defend against it at the moment, since we have no Excellency that works with it, when we have Archery trained up and the Perfect Attack Archery Charm it will be a lot more useful, but that is for the future.
 
Wait don't we get penalties for using charms we debt buy?
 
a small mote surcharge when we use them, that's all, with the scene long thats tiny and with SFP it only costs 1 mote in the first place

and that's if Alexander's feeling like giving us one at the time /shrug
