Oh hey, plot hole, why wasn't the swords magic eaten along side everything else?
No glow isn't directly good, but it's better than the opposite extreme -- no glow means that Starbreaker didn't release all of the stored energy he'd consumed in one big death-burst. Which would leave the ring glowing... as well as the rest of the lethally-irradiated remains of the universe.Maybe my brain is just too slow (pre-morning coffee) but how do these two conclusions connect? Why is no glow good and how does that connect withVamp-RaStarbreaker blowing everything up?

I wonder where the mass and energy went. Probably has something to do with what made Starbreaker so hungry in the first place.Ah! But think of all the 'space' the blast would result in! All that energy his death released would've inflated the universe back into it's proper size. A mere dozen billion years later and stars would've coalesced out of the pre-stellar soup. If Grayven and Artemis just toughed it out for a little while the laws of physics would've stabilized and they could've just opened a portal home! But no. Vamp-Ra fizzled out and now they have to do it the boring way. :/
All of it went into the Sword. Along with the mojo of all the entities it depowered. Usually it has time to digest it and emit all that mojo in form or relatively harmless radiation (Narrativium particles mostly) but Grayven - being a stab happy maniac he is - has been overfeeding it! If he keeps this pace up, at some point the Sword will barf all of that half-digested mojo all over the place and probably blow one giant plot hole in the universe in the process. A plot hole so massive that its gravity will attract all of the nearby plot holes into itself and just keep growing exponentially.
I'm picturing something similar to what happened in Dragon Ball GT.
Basically they overused the Dragon Balls so much that they collected so much negative energy the Balls made a bunch of evil dragons.
Huh, since the sword is actually made from two evil entities that could actually happen.
As to the sword not getting drained from being anywhere near Starbreaker? My best guesses are that the enchantment on it is so stupidly powerful and ingrained into it that, while potentially weakening it, The Entropy Field couldn't drain it fast enough to stop it from working, or the sword's got some exotic physical effect that makes it do the things it does, no real magic involved.
The sword isn't some super-weapon built by the god of enchantments over the course of decades or anything.Huh, since the sword is actually made from two evil entities that could actually happen.

The material that the sword was made out of was pretty decent, however. The sword isn't some super-weapon built by the god of enchantments over the course of decades or anything.
It was crafted by a succubus in about 10 seconds.
Sportsmaster is reminding me more and more of one Saotome Genma from the classic anime Ranma1/2. That is absolutely something he would do to his kid."Ah, some time between Dad dropping me in a forest at night next to a pack of wolves with a rucksack full of bacon, and working as a superhero in Gotham."
The main difference being that if Sportsmaster found 'a training technique that would only be used by an idiot,' he would not use it. Genma did, because the warning was on the next page, and he didn't bother to read that far (also, Sportmaster would have read farther).Sportsmaster is reminding me more and more of one Saotome Genma from the classic anime Ranma1/2. I mean really that's the only sane response after hearing that.I raise my left hand, orange power ring shining brilliantly, and brand him.
How did he charge up his completely drained ring?I raise my left hand, orange power ring shining brilliantly, and brand him.

Yeah, I don't normally agree with you but, I'd also like to know that.
And ironically saved him from what Dream would do to him, which would probably be far nastier.
'A grinning'
Yeah, I don't normally agree with you but, I'd also like to know that.
The Endless are not gods, but the things themselves.
So there will be no Dream when there are no more dreams, and not a second before, no matter how many times Dream is killed.
So yes, Dream is still around, as are all the Endless.
"Then… I… Simple take it from you. My Harvest Dreadnought has been extensively converted, and I picked up a few willing assistants before I returned to the present.
And ironically saved him from what Dream would do to him, which would probably be far nastier.
Yes... And this chapter we see him having gone directly to the ship...Last (?) update he mentioned explicitly contacting a Sheeda city specialsied in emotion magic.
Melmoth: Now I only want you gooone...
