Silver Age Krypton was pretty wild, and Zoat seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from that era for his Krypton (of course, we also got a lot more stories set on pre-Crisis Krypton than we did for much of post-Crisis Krypton, IIRC).The only surprising bit is that it happened somewhere other than Earth.
