Ahri'ahn is independent from most things due to the fact that he's a time traveller from the past who only travels forward in time. Why do you think the Renegade is in anyway at fault for this guy's crazy plan?

If any problem arises in the story then they'll blame the local Paul even if it makes no sense.
Though I am wondering why the paragon version of Ahri'ahn didn't strike.
It's possible that the magical revolution Paul set in motion allowed them to develop means that can detect even those of Ahri'ahn's skill, so he's more cautious.
Plus Atlantis is thriving, so he may be pleased with that.
He only really came onto the scene when he attacked Aberrance because they were using his techniques in their biomancy, while that wasn't happening paragon-side so that may have spurned into more drastic actions of taking over Atlantis.
For all we know he may have been planning on doing this on te paragon side as well, but the Anti-Life put a hamper on that.
