I would guess that it's harder for anyone there to take the offer, since they'd have a host of reasons to stay. Camaraderie with the other people on the ship, their various causes/traumas/unresolved businesses, the main plot that they were recruited into. I might say Jack, depending on the point in her story, as she might want to just get a definite escape from any number of people that are after her, but on the other hand she'd definitely ditch the group the moment they get to the next world, barring some very compelling reasons not to.

I think its great that Jaune is stupid as is Tattletale. The flaws, mistakes and fuck ups make sense in that they are teens thrown into situations most wouldn't dare hope to be in or even survive if they didn't have powers early on to help them. Even they could fall short due to inexperience, ill-preparedness, arrogance etc. It makes them believable and to be honest, I am so tired of CYOA, Multiverse jumps and Self-Inserts that immediately makes the MC or SI super competent bordering Matt Wards Ultramarine plot armor levels of absurdity.
There's a difference between struggle and stupidity. The fact that so many people do not seem to recognize that difference says that many people have never truly struggled. Jaune here struggles and does so competently he shows that he has determination and can succeed. The problem is that after being largely successful he self sabotages right before success invalidating his successes. And he does so in a way that does not show struggling against overwhelming odds, it shows utter lack of self-discipline and ability to sacrifice immediate moral gratification for long term goals. Some of what he does can be put down to being a teenager but a great deal is just abject stupidity on a level that should have been beaten out of him during his early life given the dangers of Remnant. Tattletale isn't stupidity, it's having a toxic horrid personality determined to self destruct.
It was stated that he is no hero, but a fool. Time and again by the multiverse (author), Armsmaster and even the Outsider. It his thing. If we go by the deck of tarots, the card of the fool best encompasses Jaune and his situation right now. He and by extension Tattletale are at the beginnings of their Journey, where everything ahead will be new, foreign and unknown. They will make mistakes, lots of stupid mistakes but they will eventually learn, adapt and overcome.
This is I think the biggest difference between us. I have no desire to watch a fool bumble through the universe screwing up. Fools aren't protagonists, they are to be mocked by everyone and suffer horrible fates as a result of their foolishness as a lesson not to be a fool. Fools simply aren't worth reading about. Or writing about, to be worth writing about a character has to be better than just a normal person, otherwise they're not worth reading. Ordinary people live ordinary lives, I have one of my own I don't need to read about fictional ones. To be worth reading about they have to be capable of more than being ordinary let alone a fool.
Then, this clearly isn't the right thread for you and you should look for something else to read or wait for the author to produce something you'd like to read.
I really can't see why you think every and all actions done by Jaune and Tats are stupid or foolish. Some of them are yes but the way their Dishonored run ended was a success. They got their loot, weapons, potions, currency, towels, food and a power [Third Arm]. That run was a success compared to the previous one. Not every protagonists has to be heroic, perfect, capable, strong and whole myriad of positives. They can be villainous, flawed, small, weak and even dumb.
I did actually enjoy your review, as you were on point in capturing a part of Jaune as he is now. He simply isn't ready for the situation that he is put in. But,
as Desu-vult perfectly encapsulated, this is the beginning chapters of this journey, and it is a story told time and again in both the west and the east, whether fantasy novels or anime, that young men and women would venture forth into the unknown; they learn, they persevere, they find their place in the world. And nobody gets it right the first time. Nobody wins it all. That's how adventures go.
as croaker said, it might just not be your type of story. I do, however, enjoy the sort of take you have, because you understand the why of the characters when you criticize them, recognizing that Jaune and Tattletale are flawed people, and instead of demanding that I make them perfect in the narrative, you just state that you don't like them. It's honest, and not condescending.
I like it, but I think Tattletale would argue for TA, short for team Tattletale.
