With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Well now that Zoat has moved over to QQ this story has many more directions that it can go then it would have back on SV. I don't know what is going to happen. Back on SV any relationship between them would have been impossible.

...you know, the more I hear about this sidestory, the more I kind of wish it was the main story really.

Paul's Power Ring Blue shenanigans just seem so much more interesting that where we've been at in the mains timeline for a while now.
Nah. It's just that with the alts, we're usually getting the highlight reel. Admittedly, this Paul hasn't really needed to check his... What's the word? Self-righteousness as much. It probably helps that his M. O. is de-escalation and nonviolent problem solution. Usually.

Can someone give me the short answer of what's not allowed in SB, SV, and QQ. I sometimes don't follow when other people reference what isn't allowed in these sites.

I'm not convinced. I've honestly been phoning it in since the Thanagar plotline, and the most interesting part of that was near the end when it got political and we got to see an outsider's PoV.

Renegade timeline has been really keeping my interest up in the story overall. The last thing Paul really did that got me stoked was the whole 'wrath of a good man' thing in Vega with the Citadelians.

I feel like "it's OK because my evil alter-ego did it" isn't a great rationale.

The excuse being not - I'm older than you by a lot, but: I don't like you that way and I likely never will. If his excuse was the truth, it would stick, but his actual excuse to not having their relationship - namely that he's unlikely to like her - just blew up.

Mister Alan frowns. "Just unlucky, really. Figured we'd have a month or two before Wilson pushed this hard. Otherwise we'd just have asked them to delay their honeymoon."

No matter where this arc goes this makes it worth it. This is hilarious.

But it's not Pauls alter ego. It's literally the same person just a different universe and ring. So main paul would have done the exact same thing in blue Pauls shoes.

Now paragon/renegade paul show that's a little bit wonky but I've always thought there was a 50/50 chance somewhere so he could have equally have been paragon/renegade and we get to see both sides of the coin

But as to the alternate color Pauls? Exact same guy.

Zatanna doesent know that, from her perspective Baul is a clearly older version of Paul who chose to be a Supervillain.

The only difference is that Zorina is evil...
No, that's far from the only difference. Admittedly, I should have said that everything is different, not just Zorina.

OL's excuse is, essentially, that he's already in a committed relation and isn't interested in her anyway. That excuse will hold up, because:

A: Baul has had a completely different life since he arrived compared to Paul, and might have never even met Jade.
B: The power dynamic between Baul and Zorina is very different; in terms of literal power. The dynamics of who relies/contributes what has a huge effect on developing relationships.
C: Baul and Zorina are most likely on similar footing, maturity-wise. If you work for a mob boss and (literally) cut off fingers for a living, you're probably a lot more familiar with the gritty details of life, regardless of age.
D: Zorina is basically evil and so it's a lot harder to use her as a example to justify anything, even if it should be mostly unrelated.

It's basically like if you took a typical married person, and then travelled to a alternate universe where both of your lives are completely different and you're married, and say "See, it could definitely work between us! Forget your spouse and marry me right now!"

Not sure if intentional, but 'outta' might fit better if not

Thank you, corrected.

(Flows a bit better this way. Could fit as his style of speech otherwise?)
Yes.

Modern politics. Anything over twenty years old is 'history'.

SV actually allows extreme lewdness, pornography in the archaic sense, even. Just not pornography in the modern sense. As I understand it, the explicit content must be in purpose to the plot and not just for titillation. How the moderation draws the line between smut and a rated /d/ quest about a literal whore I don't know, so you'd best discuss it with the moderation themselves before actually trying anything. But Her Mantle is Love exists.

So what is it they actually want? For Paul and Zatanna to get everyone to agree to the new management rules to stop the president?

wasn't Renegade Paul taken like a day after paragon paul?

E: Baul has no special magic resistance and might have been ensorcelled, or given an implied death threat.

If you want creepy as fuck, the Superboy Miss Martian relationship in the actual cartoon has everything beat.
42 year old boinking a 1 one year old, plus the extra bullshit she pulled.

That's still on here, I think. Except the 42 years are actually younger in terms of maturity, and the one year is likely older due to artificially growing up in the tank. So they're both underage, And similar to each other in relative biological age.

Hear that? That's the sound of Paul's excuse blowing up in the most spectacular way possible.

Not really. His excuses are that he isn't romantically interested and that he's already in a committed relationship. This situation does not change either of those points.

But that's my logical view... I'm sure some appropriate story shenanigans relating to this situation will shortly ensue.

OL doesn't need an excuse not to take Zatanna, and it can't really "Blow up".

"I don't want to" is all he has to say. "No." for even shorter, and beyond that? He doesn't have to justify fucking ANYTHING. She isn't entitled to have him.

I don't think anyone is actually saying that ol should be in a relationship with her now.

But this is something that shows he COULD have ended up with her. Which in there current relationship state of "it will never happen. Give it up. Just friends." could lead to all kinds of amusing awkwardness.

Assuming of course blue wasn't just mind whammyed and they are in a actual relationship.

They want to survive. They think their best chance of that happening is for the Syndicate to go quiet until Luthor takes over, and then still keep things relatively quiet while he removes the emergency laws. Thing is, the guy they had going around making sure that everyone is on side and troubleshooting anyone who wasn't is currently off planet.

Is Paul even useful here? He is using a orange ring and isnt really invested in amyone on this earth except for himself and Zatanna.

They need their Only Sane Man, so they got the next best thing. I kinda wanna see Paul meet VP Luthor and find a way to screw over both the Syndicate and Wilson while securing a way home for himself and Zatanna.

People doubted but I kinda thought it was going to happen. And oh man this is gonna be awkward. She just got past the "staying away from him" phase. And now she's gonna hear all about a version of her who took what she wants, her version of Paul, and that could go very badly.

It's like the world is trying to push her to becoming a Star Saphire, if not in powers then in mindset.

Question, Don't Orange Paul and Blue Paul look different due to the Orange Ring Tune Up? How is Orange meant to pretend to be Blue when they aren't identical in looks? Sorry, but the Fridge Logic has hit me and made me go, "What?"

They have the resources to make Jimmy Olsen look like that-
latest

Looking a bit younger isn't really going to be a stretch.

He's not pretending to be him. It's just that his face fits and his voice fits.

Besides, if OG Paul really needed to look like Blue Paul, he could just make himself to look like him. He managed to fleshcraft himself to look like one of those big cuddly avarice demons with the ring, after all. Making himself look like his older-looking, less fit parallel should be a piece of cake.
