...So You mean when I get around to writing my confrontation Between Desus Mask of Winter and Issei, I can not Only have him pull a lightsaber, have Duel of Fate playing via charm haxs but ALSO Force Choke some random Mook... thankyou so much for giving us this option Alexander this has just made my day

Also, FP lets us use Touch Attacks at Range... and we are going to learn SMA how can we pick anything else?
*open mouth* *close mouth*

Now there is no way I will not include that in the post is the option wins.

Issei: "The Force is Strong in Me!"

Rias: "Issei. Stop watching Star Wars."

How is your omake with Anja Silverclaws going?

YAY - we get applicable duck tape.

Slowly as expected, other things keep intruding, like Sundragon-Issei kicking Ebon-Dragon around Malfaes, and Issei stumbling across Autokun while trying to get home and basicly going "Right... this isn't good, how much heal can I cast, because I'm going to try for ALL OF IT." While all the Alchemicals are panicking as massive spell circles start appearing, well that and a massive sunlight dragon in the.. outside? void? I'm not sure what to call it, but anyway, I'm having less writers block and more ADD Muse ^^;

I know that feeling well my friends ^^.

It's believed Auto-kun is drifting in Elsewhere, which in-game Exalted is a fluff way to explain the old pocket dimension storage.

"Elsewhere is somewhere other than where you are, no matter where that is. It is a space between worlds, but also overlapping them. It is not really a place to visit so much as a place to use."

So yeah, outside may work as a description. Void is how it's called the robo-cancer that Auto-kun is suffering: it's basically flesh growing around his robotic parts. Because, apparently, machines do nothing to him, but flesh is poisonous. So more than heal, Issei needs to purge the fleshy bits. Asking the Alchemicals first is a good idea.

Say, do you think you could make a story archive thread for all the updates you have? It's kind of hard sifting through hundred pages posts. You don't have to do but it was just a thought.

It's even called Force projection too boot. God the star wars refences we'll be able to make between this and the light saber. If we learnt how to shoot Lighting from our fingertips too. 8)

We need to a "Your lack of faith disturbs me" moment with one of our future enemies.

Telekinesis is cool, but we're about to jump into a situation where attacking multiple opponents at once would really come in handy. A giant melee with possibly dozens of guys attacking us? We want that force whip.

Lash uses Melee, and it sucks besides, its a lethal weapon on top of that, you guys raised Rating on Fist of Iron for this sort of thing, rather then Defence like I wanted, seriously the lash gives us nothing we can't get just as good if not better with a charm unlike FP

Fair points, I remember it being a martial arts weapon.

Touch attacks at range when we'll be able to learn SMA in the future? Yes please.

I stand corrected *didn't have any of the tags, but it did have it written that it could use Melee or MA dice* however its still a) a lethal weapon, b) a very obvious magical effect, which is the whole reason we want stealth mode Boosted Gear, and c) its only a Flurry, not even a ranged one, we are going to be dealing with Mooks, plus the Fists, and its unlikely the Fists are going to be fighting us anything but one on one.

Seriously Smut, I can see the reason why the lash would be nice, but FP is something that we can only get through this, while there are other options for what the lash gives.

shouldn't we have warned yang that he was spying on us before having sex again?

honestly, he's pretty creepy.

That's easy, just throw wide calculated punches that hit multiple targets~! :))

What is the distance limit on the force projection? Sight based? 30 feet? 100 football fields?

I managed to find an online copy of Wonders of the Lost Age, so here's the whole description. I can also provide the Essence Lash entry if anyone is interested.

Force Projection Weapons (Artifact 2 to 3)

Repair: 1

Building on technological principles first developed by the Dragon Kings in the epoch before the First Age, e, force-projection weapons function by transmitting the kinetic impact of a close combat weapon across intervening distance as an invisible pulse. This allows wielders to use their weapons to strike at range using their close-combat training, rather than learning an entirely separate curriculum of combat.

The most common model of force-projection weapon developed in the First Age was the shock pike (Artifact 2), which looks like a short spear made of ironwood banded with leaf-shaped conduction nodes of green jade. Shock pikes can be wielded in close combat like spears normally, though projecting an attack at range drains two motes from the weapon's internal battery (which can hold up to 20 motes). Ranged attacks from these weapons subtract one from the Parry DV of their target because of the invisible nature of the attack. Shock pikes designed exclusively for Exalted use are also Artifact 2, requiring a commitment of five motes to attune. Though they lack internal batteries and rely entirely on their wielder for power, these models are generally superior (as reflected by better statistics).

Shock pikes rated Artifact 3 add 20 motes to the weapon's internal battery, giving standard models a 40-mote capacity and Exalted models a 20-mote charge. By their nature, all shock pikes may benefit from Melee Charms in both close and ranged use.

Standard 5 +2 +7L 2 50 (maximum range) – 2, R
Exalted 5 +3 +9L 3 (Essence rating x 10) 5 2, R
+ 50 (maximum range)

A rarer and more advanced type of force-projection weapon developed later in the First Age is a set of gauntlets of distant touch (Artifact 3 for a pair). These light, articulated gauntlets connect to magical material bracers stretching up to the elbow. The bracers house the kinetic conduction coils, while the gloves manipulate and direct the dynamic Essence field the artifacts project. A pair of these gloves costs four motes to attune, which resizes them to perfectly fit their wearer.

Used in close combat, the gloves add the pertinent magical material bonus for their construction to the character's unarmed punches and allow unarmed parries of lethal and ranged attacks. When charged with an additional commitment of three motes, however, an invisible aura of force forms around both hands for the rest of the scene. During this time, the character may perform any task that would normally require his hands simply by making the appropriate gesture (the action uses its normal dice pool and difficulty), and the Exalt may affect any objects within (Essence rating x 3) yards. From a utilitarian standpoint, the gauntlets can levitate objects (but not the user), manipulate them, pull them close or push them away. In combat, the gloves can deliver ranged Martial Arts hand strikes or clinches that benefit from close combat magical material bonuses. Such attacks also impose a -1 penalty to the opponent's Parry DV because of their invisible nature. Finally, a character wearing charged gauntlets can parry attacks directed at anyone else in range, though each such parry cumulatively decreases her Parry DV by -1 until her next action. All close and ranged attacks made using gauntlets of distant touch are considered unarmed for the purposes of compatibility with Martial Arts Charms.

Considering most of our fights will probably be against a single opponent i think Force-Projection will be more useful.

As requested:

Essence Lash (Artifact 3)

Repair: 1

This jade and steel tube is one foot long and two inches in diameter. The Essence lash is one of the simpler Essence-based weapons, and it is still manufactured in the Realm. This artifact channels raw Essence into a jagged-lightning-like beam that can be used to scourge or enwrap opponents. One of this weapon's great advantages is that it can be used to strike opponents up to 10 yards away. Users must commit six motes to this weapon and then spend two motes to activate the weapon for a full scene. Wielders can use either Melee or Martial Arts to attack with an Essence lash.

In addition to being able to be used to strike a single foe with a burning swath of Essence, the wielder can cause this weapon to simultaneously produce multiple strands of Essence-fire. Characters can produce a number of separate strands of Essence up to their permanent Essence. Characters can use these multiple strands to attack multiple targets at the same time, without using a flurry. In this state, the Essence lash resembles a multi-stranded flail of crackling energy. The character makes a single attack roll and the results are separately compared to the opponents' DV + other defenses. The character suffers no increases in difficulty for performing this attack, but when using this weapon to attack multiple targets, she can use it to attack only once in a flurry. In addition to the Essence cost of activating this weapon for a scene, each additional attack costs two motes, and this cost is paid every time the weapon is used to attack multiple targets simultaneously. Using this weapon to make multiple attacks counts as an extra action and is subject to the same restrictions as every extra action Charm. Because each of these weapons is primarily built from jade, Exalts add the appropriate magical material bonuses when using it (but non-Terrestrial Exalts must pay extra to attune, as normal).

Also, I was looking through Wonders of the Lost Age and came across something that would be an interesting upgrade for Force-Projection, if the Boosted Gear is capable of evolving further later. It's far too soon at the moment and it might require some additional craft tutelage from Bright, so this remains just an idea for now, really. But the image of multiple charm- and combat-capable essence projection arms capable of forming any tool combined with telekinesis is very appealing.

Arms of Multiple Manipulation (Artifact 4, WotLA pg. 72)

Repair: 3

This artifact consists of a pair of long, narrow, flat ovals made from jade and moonsilver each a quarter inch thick, two inches wide and a foot and a half long. A thumb-sized crystal of blue ice is located in the center of each oval. These ovals are designed to sit on either side of the user's spine. These items must be surgically grafted to an Essence user to function. Failure on the surgery roll inflicts one level of unsoakable lethal damage for every success by which the roll fell short. A botch inflicts the consequences of normal failure and also damages the bracers, requiring that they be repaired. Success implants these items on the subject's back, where they lie flush with the skin on either side of the user's spine.

In addition to the difficulty of implantation, the user must also commit three motes of Essence immediately after the surgery. This Essence cannot be uncommitted unless the artifact is removed (Which requires a surgery roll with a difficulty one less than that to implant it). To activate this item for one scene, the user must spend five motes of Essence. Once activated, the item creates a number of additional limbs equal to the user's permanent Essence. These projections of solidified Essence can function as well as normal human arms. In addition to acting as ordinary arms, they can also form themselves into any mundane tool, removing the need for the user to carry any additional tools and eliminating all penalties for performing an action without proper tools. These arms provide the user with all of the benefits of a pair of bracers of universal crafting* and can extend for a number of yards equal to the user's permanent Essence.

In addition, this item also contains a limited mental construct created from awakening the least spirit of the specially enchanted crystals of blue ice. These crystals serve as an interface between the user's mind and the arms, allowing the user to turn over partial control of the arms to the crystals. As a result, the user can take one action using only his physical body and one action involving only the Essence arms, with no multiple-action penalty. The character can also take normal multiple actions with either his body or the arms without inflicting the penalty on the other. The only limit on these arms' actions is that no single arm can take more than one action and the character cannot use this artifact to take more actions than it has arms.

The user can also mentally instruct the arms to perform any relatively straightforward task while he engages in other activities, such as combat. The arms can be used with both combat and noncombat Charms and can make unarmed attacks exactly like the user's arms, but their Essence-flows interfere with those of daiklaves, powerbows and other artifacts that requires the user to either spend or commit Essence. As a result, the user cannot wield any such artifact with the Essence arms. The user must wield daiklaves and similar weapons with his normal arms and use other weapons in this items's Essence arms.

* Bracers of Universal Crafting add Essence successes to lock picking, surgery, Craft, cooking and any other precision-based task by creating projections of the necessary tools (thus, no penalties). Also, while in Yu-Shan or a god's sanctum, this artifact allows the user to craft items from ambrosia and quintessence (forms of solidified prayers) even without the necessary charms.
