welcome to Earth, where anti-scan ward have become a massive hit"ClusterCorp has an excellent safety record for the lives of our senior executives! All standard tracking procedures will have been implemented the moment anything untoward happened! I have received no signal, and my ring shows nothing!"
You want to put the majority of sensory organs near the brain due to potential information transmission lag - also due to amount of nerves required for those organs to be used. If our eyes were further away, we would lose out fairly substantially on reaction speed. It takes a noticeable amount of a second for a message to get from the brain to any part of the body to move - imagine if the same thing happened whenever you needed to move your eyes or something and your vision processing was always a noticeable part of a second behind actual events.Think that's more the waist or kidney area on a human, but who knows what the vital areas of a Tamaranian are? Maybe their brains are in their shoulders? That'd frankly make a lot more sense than putting them in an external sensory appendage like those Earthian monkeys; what evolutionary mistake thought that was a good idea?
Comic books are a small window into a world which is, in theory, a twisted reflection of our own. Where we don't know the context that laws were made with, or enforced. But, yes, I agree, it's often 'bullshit'.The ability of comic book bullshit to uterly twist and break the legal system is amazing.
Well, after you're locked on wiring that maxes out at the speed of sound, you sorta gotta make the input traces short to minimize latency....
God.That'd frankly make a lot more sense than putting them in an external sensory appendage like those Earthian monkeys; what evolutionary mistake thought that was a good idea?
As for having it be on a separate limb - granted it's possibly unnecessary, but being able to turn it gives better peripheral vision.Well, after you're locked on wiring that maxes out at the speed of sound, you sorta gotta make the input traces short to minimize latency....
Spoilers, he overextends and accidentally deletes Russia.Manga Khan might have incentive to make the Russians disappear and lie about it.
Google Maps: Russia is no longer located in Russia
Link goes to another site SV if I recall correctly perhaps that should be edited to point to local copy on this site? The four of us wait patiently outside the external zeta tube terminus for Garfield and Missus Logan to arrive from Qurac. I haven't been back here since the first day I came to the mountain
I'm sorry, but what? super strength should be easily convertible to cash as long as you're willing to be at least semi public with it there is a lot of expensive equipment that is used to do heavy lifting and yea in ports and places where this is done routinely they're just going to stick with the cranes they're already using but for places where the equipment has to be brought in for just one or two days worth of work then taken out again like construction on high rise buildings... if there was a person who could do the job of the heavy equipment faster and easier I'm sure they'd be willing to pay that person %80 of what they'd have to pay to rent the equipment they no longer have to rentIt's the same problem I have with Donna: converting super strength into cash just isn't that easy.
Thank you, updated.Link goes to another site SV if I recall correctly perhaps that should be edited to point to local copy on this site?
A crane can be set to safely lift standard crates all over the world, and be operated by anyone who is qualified. A single person with super strength does an eight hour shift with... Some sort of special harness? Then goes home, and you're back to using a crane. Compare that to a telepath who can do a few hours work for the CIA each month and be well paid for it.I'm sorry, but what? super strength should be easily convertible to cash as long as you're willing to be at least semi public with it there is a lot of expensive equipment that is used to do heavy lifting and yea in ports and places where this is done routinely they're just going to stick with the cranes they're already using but for places where the equipment has to be brought in for just one or two days worth of work then taken out again like construction on high rise buildings... if there was a person who could do the job of the heavy equipment faster and easier I'm sure they'd be willing to pay that person %80 of what they'd have to pay to rent the equipment they no longer have to rent
or ship breaking as I could swear he discussed with the terror twins or what ever they were called
I did say the shipyard would just continue to use the crane but what about jobs where the crane is brought in to do one or two days worth of work then has to be removed like taking construction materials up a high rise buildingA crane can be set to safely lift standard crates all over the world, and be operated by anyone who is qualified. So anything artificial in space near earth is gone?
Justice League: We have a Watchtower.
Paul: You had a Watchtower.
Oh, that could work. Unfortunately there isn't a superpowered labour exchange. An individual would have to get a manager, and then that manager would have to be able to create that job.I did say the shipyard would just continue to use the crane but what about jobs where the crane is brought in to do one or two days worth of work then has to be removed like taking construction materials up a high rise building
jobs where the crane isn't used day after day after day but for a short duration before it has be removed
or a heavy piece of equipment needs to be moved in tight confines that to get a crane or other heavy equipment in place to do the job would mean putting a bit hole in a wall moving the thing then fixing the hole in the wall
sure these kinds of jobs aren't your standard come into work do the job go home and repeat day in day out but because of the temporary nature they typically pay a lot more than a standard job does
http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/04/how-dick-came-to-be-short-for-richard/Why does your name sound like male genitalia?
Seriously does anyone know why the people called Richard are sometimes called Dick?
Calling someone Freddie or Fred even if their name is Frederick makes sense, but calling someone Dci kwhen they're named Richard really doesn't make sense to me.
which just means that the supply side is virtually unique and can command a price nearly equal to the equipment cost that is being saved if not more than in some circumstances where that equipment would take longer to get into place than it would take the super strong to do the job and they're being paid extra for a rush jobOh, that could work. Unfortunately there isn't a superpowered labour exchange. An individual would have to get a manager, and then that manager would have to be able to create that job.
You also have to remember that true super strength is pretty uncommon, and the strength/flight combo that makes heavy lifting super easy is even more so.
draining?"I suppressed the area immediately around me. It was caning my power reserves just keeping a small area around me stable."
"I am not a number! I am a free
It's probably unrelated but I'm hoping this is more interplanar bullshit so OL has the chance to kill the evil rapist version of himself.
Insurance might also be an issue. It could certainly be done, but it wouldn't be quick or easy.which just means that the supply side is virtually unique and can command a price nearly equal to the equipment cost that is being saved if not more than in some circumstances where that equipment would take longer to get into place than it would take the super strong to do the job and they're being paid extra for a rush job
just about any super power can be turned into cash if it's remotely useful for anything true it might take getting a manager to scout out jobs for it but if there were enough super powered people willing to do an honest job to make a lot of money then a system would arise to support it over time
No, as in 'to strike with a cane'.
Converting super-strength to cash is incredibly easy. You gear down an electric generator so one hard turn of the exercise bike wheels causes many fast spins of the generator, regulate the output, feed it into the power grid, and get cut a check.
Except it was that SI that said that was how it worked. We've seen from the people the SI and Graven assimilated that that's not really accurate. We know from the comics that assimilation explicitly does not release the soul so it very much isn't murder. This is like getting someone drunk / roofieing them and then saying since they seemed into it, it's not rape.I... don't think he technically counts as a rapist?
The way I understand it is the original personality is basically killed and replaced with a new, more... amenable personality.
So the persoanlity wipe would count as murder, but the new person is then in charge of the body. So not rape... but since the original personality is dead and he is having sex with it... does that make it necrophilia? Or whatever the manslaughter equivalent of Necrophilia would be?
Ooh, but since he created the new personality, would it count as a pseudo incest (he's basically the father) grooming type of rape?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Where did you get the idea that the League and Diana were assimilated? Tangseid use a ritual combining magic and the Orange light to fully rewire their desires.Except it was that SI that said that was how it worked. I'm unsure where 'magic' comes into it...use a ritual combining magic and the Orange light to fully rewire their desires
You might find it interesting to read the Stross novel Glasshouse, which might have touched on these sort of issues...The sad thing is that things like this happened in the past and still happen now in certain areas of the world.
